Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24
Let the fun begin! We could be about to encounter a number of DGW’s on the bounce and DGW24 is the first of those, albeit with just the 4 teams playing twice.
We begin on Saturday and end on Wednesday but it is also worth bearing in mind that DGW25 then starts less than 48hrs later, on Friday evening.
Leicester and Liverpool get us under way @12.30pm on Saturday and this is followed by Palace & Burnley @3pm, Man City get their double under way @5.30pm vs Spurs before Brighton & Villa see Saturday out @8pm.
Sunday is a similar marathon with Saints vs Wolves @12pm, Man Utd going to West Brom @2pm, Arsenal welcoming Leeds @4.30pm with Everton & Fulham getting their respective doubles under way @7pm.
Just the two on Monday as West Ham welcome Sheffield Utd @6pm and Newcastle go to Chelsea @8pm.
The ‘bonus’ games occur on Wednesday with Burnley & Fulham boring everybody @6pm before Everton & Man City should hopefully wake us all up again @8.15pm.
The games in full…

Evening all,
Been tinkering some more with my WC team, would appreciate your thoughts.
Currently have 4 DGWers for GW 25, and the money to do Ings to Kane in GW 26. Was planning on playing my BB but also need to make sure I have enough players for BGW29 so with the triple Leeds (and Sanchez back up keeper) I would have only 11 DGWers. Would there be another chance after the blank to use my BB? Or should I prioritise that over planning for the blank?
I’m not doing wildcard until I know what’s happening in gameweek 26 shoot yourself in the foot otherwise
Do whatever works best for you, however we’re extremely likely to know the DGW 26 fixtures before the deadline this week
It helps to know but it’s not really shooting yourself in the foot. You know the games and the doubles. You just don’t know exactly how it plays out. I don’t think it makes much difference personally.
He wasn’t asking what you were doing, he was asking for specific advice on his :dash: :slaphead:
I could get McCarthy instead of Martinez and Grealish and Barnes instead of Son and Rafinha. Would give me 13 DGWers + Dallas and Bamford which I would be fine using my BB for. However not sure about Southampton defensively especially as their double fixtures are not great, and it would leave me a player less for the blank.
Also, is Davies going to keep his place in the team with Reguilon returning?
McCarthy instead of Sanchez**
McCarthy is prob one mistake away from losing his place
I thought about McCarthy but have decided that Pope is fine for GW25. The only Southampton player I’ve wildcarded in so far is Ings. I don’t want to push too far out on the GW25 doubles (am currently on the same quartet as you above).
I’ve been pondering a Man U defender – Shaw – as a decent prospect over the next few GW.
Yeah I’d agree with that. Ings is prob worth it for the double but I’m not sure their players are worth it
I’ll probably use Ings as a placeholder and bring in Vardy or Kane if either of them has a double in 26. Or will move for the one with the juiciest looking double.
I’m seeing the potential Leicester Arsenal game as a juicy one.
Yeah if I wildcard I’ll use Ings as placeholder for Kane. Arsenal v Leicester I see as low scoring these days I think not what it used to be
Davies is the only issue here. He’s not first choice LB
Thanks Smash
Looks good! + what smash said.
Evening all.
Been tinkering with a potential WC team that gives me 4 players with doubles in 25 and 15 DGW players in 26.
I know saints aren’t good, but they have the potential for a few DGWs so seems sensible to maximise that.
I’ll be waiting until the games are confirmed before pulling the trigger
Team attached :dash:
Do you have a free hit still?
Yep, figure I’ll use that in 29
Looks good. Who comes in for Bamford to complete the set?
Watkins is the plan
Looks fine. Not having Salah is a risk and it may be worth thinking through how to get him back should Liverpool suddenly click back into gear.
See my comments above about Southampton (even if a double double looms I’m not sure if I want three of their players). However given that the cheap alternatives probably = Brighton (not on the worst of runs currently) then I can see where you’re coming from. I’m currently looking more towards Leeds than Southampton and will probably correct the side with a FH / -4 going into GW26.
Can you manage Pope?
Pope would be another 1m. It’s a tough one with Southampton. Ings I’m comfortable with, the rest…
Gear
Not quite the full set of 15 DGW players for 26
However I’d probly stick with Bamford on bench in a BB 26
Not so sure about Pieters either.
Maybe try and squeeze another 0.2 from Vestergard
and get two 4.5m defenders instead
2 x 4.5m defenders is easier said than done though, I’m finding. Lowton, yes. Otherwise I’m scratching my head a bit.
I’m spending a bit more on defence – not much more but outside the City defenders then Mee/Lowton; Shaw; Dallas. One or two others may emerge.
Obsessing over 15 doubles without a free hit or going forward if you spread the cash too much which you might have to do will mess up your team going forward for future weeks of taking hits to get it right again. Which will be more than you gain from one week of joy.
Once Charlie Taylor is back Pieters will be back on the bench I would have thought
Taylor is back now maybe tomorrow. Pieters might miss out due to injury as well
I did have Taylor switched to Lowton a few weeks ago
Yeah, plan is to move bamford on after this week (I should have put that in my post). I’ve currently got Lowton at 4.4m so technically only need to find 0.1mil to upgrade Pieters. Maybe I could find that from Lindelof, just not sure who I could switch him with though. I get what Smash is saying below with trying to force 15 double players might not be the best strategy, but I do love the look of it when that BB chip is played!
Hey all
Thinking about which Leeds players for 25. Would you go Dallas for free or aloiski and raphina for a -4?
Cant do Dallas and raphina unfortunately
Cheers
Hmm depends on what youre doing in the next few gameweeks. If youre holding Rapinha through the double gw and into 29, makes more sense. If youre dropping a GW26 double gameweek player mabye not.
Well in theory getting two will pay off more. Longer term I’m not so sure, Maybe think beyond this GW and decide whether those two fit in ok with future plans (they may enable other things, etc).
If push came to shove though I’d say Dallas is probably enough.
I’m wild carding in 26 if that helps
I like the way a well-handled narrative slowly reveals its deepest secrets.
Might as well go for it then, hammers. Throw caution to the wind and you can tidy it all up with the wildcard.
Thanks kralin
Any updates on Reguillon being back for GW26? I’m thinking he could be good in place of Cresswell
Heard he is back in training now. Not sure how far off he is from first team action though and doubt he would get both games in the double if he is fit to start (assuming the DGW is his appeal).
Hey guys. Hope the GW has been good to you. 93 with 3 to go. Would like your advice regarding the next 2 weeks.
1FT and 0 itb
Should I get in Raphina for next week or just Dallas. Would be for a -4 and -8. Also who would you get rid of from the midfielders for Raphina if yiu had to with the future GWs in mind
Unless Gundo is out long term (when in which case you may be looking at another City player anyway) then I’d say there are no obvious swaps for Raphina (if the DGW play out as predicted). Doing it for a -4 is even riskier unless you’re planning to BB.
Maybe Antonio to Ings isn’t the worst of shouts this GW, but again, because you’ve set up as a 3/5/2, you’ll have huge benching headaches.
Thanks Kralin. Gundo looks like he would be back for next GW as per Pep.
Thanks for the advice though
Gundogan set to miss out trip to Everton with a groin strain
Yep
Not a massive surprise, given that City have CL commitments looming as well.
Yeah sounds pretty short term anyway. Just a bit annoying for me him and Mee missing
Yes, similarly. May not get anything from Dias, either. But that’s the way it goes.
Yeah though I presume Dias plays
