Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24

Let the fun begin! We could be about to encounter a number of DGW’s on the bounce and DGW24 is the first of those, albeit with just the 4 teams playing twice.

We begin on Saturday and end on Wednesday but it is also worth bearing in mind that DGW25 then starts less than 48hrs later, on Friday evening.

Leicester and Liverpool get us under way @12.30pm on Saturday and this is followed by Palace & Burnley @3pm, Man City get their double under way @5.30pm vs Spurs before Brighton & Villa see Saturday out @8pm.

Sunday is a similar marathon with Saints vs Wolves @12pm, Man Utd going to West Brom @2pm, Arsenal welcoming Leeds @4.30pm with Everton & Fulham getting their respective doubles under way @7pm.

Just the two on Monday as West Ham welcome Sheffield Utd @6pm and Newcastle go to Chelsea @8pm.

The ‘bonus’ games occur on Wednesday with Burnley & Fulham boring everybody @6pm before Everton & Man City should hopefully wake us all up again @8.15pm.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

A general comment on the second WC and TV. I’ve found it considerably harder to accumulate TV, as well as defend it, this year. I’m at 106.0 with a WC to come. However, my recollection, over the past 3 or 4 years, is that we went into the second WC with about 110.0. Something has changed?

Teams this year are more template due to the premium players injuries. You haven’t got the quick gain e.g. Pukki, Lundy because managers are holding not selling. I’m on 106 where I’ve only ever been 103 at this stage before.

I always see it that if a certain player is too expensive then there’s always a plan b. So for example if getting Kane knocks my wildcard side off its axis slightly then I’d look at Vardy instead. And so on.

I used to take TV very seriousy – too seriously, probably. It seemed to be a verity of the game that one accumulated TV in the first half of the season then used that to buy whoever you wanted and blow away the opposition in the second half by out-spending them.

But I then changed the way I played and became more conservative, making transfers very late in the GW. That had a huge knock-on effect in that my TV dropped considerably. But I found the more patient game also yielded results and didn’t really have a detrimental effect on the sort of OR I got when things went reasonably well.

Also for me personally I didn’t want to be fretting about TV in an activity like fantasy football – which is essentially a fun hobby that has no bearing whatsoever on the rest of my life. I find that tuning out the groupthink that often – and perhaps naturally – prevails is one of the handier tools at one’s disposal.

Re WC GW 25 and BB GW26. What are people’s thoughts on KDB? Will need to fit him in before GW25 else will likely need 2 transfers to drop a city defender and switch out a mid (probably Salah) for KDB. As will likely also want to switch out 1/2 Leeds/Soton players too.
For those with Sterling it offers an easy switch. Maybe that’s an incentive for wildcarders to build a team with Sterling+Gundo+MCI def.

For those wildcarding; what kinda points hit you looking at for gw26?

    Thanks!

Am I correct in thinking Villa, Everton, Southampton, Spurs and City will all have double double gameweeks between gw26 and gw28?

Was Vestergaard injured between GW’s 15-22? Looking at a Southampton defender and he’s a nice price. Just want to make sure he’s likely to play!

    Hello everyone,
Activated my WC so this is going to be a long week
Have the money to do Ings >> Kane in GW26, and then play BB, though I am reconsidering this as all my bench players would just have one game. Don’t know when I’ll get another chance to use it however

Also planning for blank GW29 as I no longer have a FH, with 3 Leeds 2 Spurs and 2 Villa players (Martinez or Sanchez in goal) I would have 7 playing, and I can make more transfers between GW26 and 29 to bring in a couple more, e.g. Arsenal players

    How is it looking?

If I’m WC & BB 26 I’ll want DGW players on my bench as well ..
I know thats tricky as we also want Leeds players for Gwk 25 DGW
Which leaves those Leeds players benched for their single gwk 26.
Defo keeping Bamford tho but maybe just him.
Might bring in Dallas then swap him for a DGW player for 26?

      Otieno says:

Now that you have activated your WC (which I don’t recommend to anyone else) you may as well max it out with DGW players. You’ll have to pick the best 6/7 players for GW29. More than that and you’ll suffer badly in the later weeks

I hope Sterling starts (Please, Pep) and scores a hat-trick.
