Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24

Let the fun begin! We could be about to encounter a number of DGW’s on the bounce and DGW24 is the first of those, albeit with just the 4 teams playing twice.

We begin on Saturday and end on Wednesday but it is also worth bearing in mind that DGW25 then starts less than 48hrs later, on Friday evening.

Leicester and Liverpool get us under way @12.30pm on Saturday and this is followed by Palace & Burnley @3pm, Man City get their double under way @5.30pm vs Spurs before Brighton & Villa see Saturday out @8pm.

Sunday is a similar marathon with Saints vs Wolves @12pm, Man Utd going to West Brom @2pm, Arsenal welcoming Leeds @4.30pm with Everton & Fulham getting their respective doubles under way @7pm.

Just the two on Monday as West Ham welcome Sheffield Utd @6pm and Newcastle go to Chelsea @8pm.

The ‘bonus’ games occur on Wednesday with Burnley & Fulham boring everybody @6pm before Everton & Man City should hopefully wake us all up again @8.15pm.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

      Kralin says:

That’s one to ponder with next week’s transfer. I think I’ll anticipate the need to possibly move for him should Gundogan be out longer term. May require some delicate transfer footwork.

      • AJW says:

Pep being a bit cagey there – he merely says that KDB will travel to Everton, but does this mean he’s playing, or just there to gee up the boys before the match? I imagine KDB singing in the aisles of the team bus, giving a stirring rendition of ‘Knees up Mother Brown’, to motivate the troops, feeling down about Ilkay’s absence, before distributing Belgian waffles and wishing them all the best in this toughest of matches. Have heard that he’s actually dissimulated, telling the rest of the team that it’s in fact their CL match this week, and not the Toffees they will be confronting. Sacré Kevin!!! smile

He also reckons fixtures will be announced Friday

      Stone Frog says:

Deadline is Friday 6.30. There are going yo be some panicked last minute WC team selections if we get the fixtures Friday, especially if it ends up being late Friday afternoon.

      • That will be the worst possible scenario with majority doing regrettable hectic eleventh hour moves.

      • Kralin says:

I’m hoping to have the wildcard done and dusted by tomorrow evening.

I’m seeing it as a block of fixtures – 25 – 29 – rather than solely focusing on 26. Eg the Leeds players for 25 flow through to the BGW of 29. And so on.

In many ways a big DGW in 27 would suit me perfectly.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I know what I’ll do if I wildcard. Unsure on one defender spot but I’m pretty happy with the rest

        • Kralin says:

It’s been an odd one because of this mini DGW immediately preceding the balloon going up.

My biggish call is between Kane or Vardy.

As neither are coming in this week I may kick that can down the road and leave enough in the bank to go for either next week (e.g. have enough for Kane).

        • AJW says:

          Well I currently have :
          Pope – Martinez
Cancelo – Stones – Targett- Shaw – Lowton
Mo- Gundo – Son- Bruno- Raph
          Ingsie- Bamf – Watkins
Will get Kane for Ings next week and maybe save trades till after GW28 so as to get in 2 (3?) players for GW29, giving me about 7 or 8 that week and we’ll see how it goes afterwards. Any contrary advice? Am I painting myself into a corner? Have activated WC BTW smile

        • AJW says:

          P. S. I am not a robot (says he in a robotic voice!) smile

        • Kralin says:

That side looks fine AJW. Thinking hard about Shaw myself.

Like you I’d like a couple of FT going into 28 / 29.

This is a real buckle yourself in period.

        • AJW says:

Too true Kralin. Strap yourself in and resist temptation – Shaw has looked really dangerous of late and has great wraps.
Was thinking of eventually ‘devolving’ my goal-keepership and implementing a rather ‘hispanic blend’ towards GW 29, by bringing in Sanchez to partner Martinez (thus saving a few denarii to spend elsewhere). But as they say, ‘many’s the slip twixt cup and lip’!
Cheerio and good luck. (Any hope of a glimpse of your impending new-look ‘After the rainers’?) smile

        • Kralin says:

I can’t really be bothered to screenshot it, AJW, and besides it still rather lazily has a lot of the current squad still in it. May bring in Shaw tonight (for Holding) and swap Dias with Cancelo.

Otherwise Soucek has gone for Raphinha; Cavani for Ings; Antonio for Bamford; Steer for Martinez.

Last significant decision will be who to bring in for Saka, with a Leicester mid looking favourite but I may get Grealish.

I’ve thought about Sanchez but have stuck with Pope for now.

        • AJW says:

I understand Kralin – you’re not one to go ‘flaunting it to all and sundry’! Sounds like you have a logical plan in mind – I’m wondering what to do with my City defence (have Stones and Cancelo, but coveting DIas, yet he is a tad expensive!). Ah well, as long as it’s done by Friday evening. Have put in Struijk for Lowton, which frees up a few bob and gets me another doubler for this week and GW 29. Ah Kralin, I’m sorry, just thinking out aloud! Thankyou for your considerations.

      Stone Frog says:

How many doubles do we think there will be in GW27 or GW28 for the catch-up games? Man City, Spurs, Everton, Fulham, Southampton etc.

  3. 135

Will this be OK for a -4 next GW? (-4) for Bissouma -> Raphinha.

    Pope
    Dias Stones Dallas
    Gundogan Bruno Salah Son Raphinha
    Bamford Ings

    Martinez Watkins Mee Bednarek

Hey guys does this look alright? FT = Antonio —> Ings, just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

    Veer says:

    Morning all,
I’m back with another WC draft 😎
What do you guys think? Preparing for BB in DGW26 as well as having enough players for BGW29. Have the money to do Ings >> Kane next week. Previously had Son and Rafinha instead of Grealish and Barnes, keep going back and forth with that one.

Thank you for all the help
