Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 29. Back so soon? Life as an FPL manager can be brutal! First world problems and all that, eh?! Three deadlines in the space of 9 days can take its toll mentally, especially when you have to try and factor in the upcoming blanks and doubles, and trying to do so by playing a bit of a guessing game at this stage.

Back at it we are though, and so are Spurs and Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime, as they now seemingly enter a battle for 3rd / 4th spot with each other and also Man Utd, not quite the battle Spurs were hoping for only a week ago. We then have a relative treat at 3pm on Saturday with no less than 5 games. Man City look to keep the pressure on Liverpool as they visit Bournemouth, Brighton will be hoping to pull further clear of the relegation zone and in turn further condemn Huddersfield to their own inevitable fate, Burnley and Palace will be hoping their’s turns into a typical mid-table clash but both still need a few points on the board to make that a reality, Ole will be looking to continue to look invincible as Saints visit Old Trafford with their own agenda and Wolves will look to kiss and make up with their FPL fans with a home game against Cardiff, whose own fans may be forgiven for thinking their own team has already kissed the PL goodbye. What’s the record for the longest sentence ever?!

West Ham and Newcastle is finally looking like a genuine mid-table clash on Saturday evening. Give it three more weeks and the flip-flops will be getting packed in abundance for both.

Watford and Leicester kick us off on Sunday and continue the mid-table theme at 12pm, before a mini derby as Fulham host Chelsea before a proper derby closes us out as Everton look to derail the Liverpool title charge. They won’t, but it should be fun watching them try!

The games in full…

Time to sell Salah? Absolutely not justifying his price tag anymore for me, feel like Hazard or Sterling would be better options

    Frenchie says:

Am I the only one thinking Klopp’s coaching was particularly bad today? I know it’s easy to make critics, who I am to challenge him, but come on Liverpool midfield has been completely… What’s the right word, bossed by Everton?
Henderson was utterly useless, and the guy brings Milner for Wijnaldum, then the last stroke was Lallana for Mane, I couldn’t believe it.
I think Guardiola is better than Klopp, and that’s why Man City will win the PL.

+1 that midfield was terrible and klopp made some bad sub choices. its city’s title to lose now

I don’t agree Frenchie. He might have made some bad choices tonight but we don’t know the reasoning behind the choices. Wijnaldum could be fatigue or whatever.

As for sayng Pep is the better manager, based on tonight? For me that what Klopp did wth Dortmund and Liverpool is way more of an accomplishment than whatever Pep ever did. Apart from winning a lot of prices with the best Barcelona ever, a team he took over. He sort of failed with winning big prices with Bayern and now City.

Pep has more depth in the squad and he sort of had the best EPL squad for years now. In my opinion he shouuld have done way better.

Klopp took over a sinking ship and turned it into what it is now. They miss depth now. Where City’s bench is as good as their starting 11, you can’t say the same for Pool.

      • Frenchie says:

Well, in short I don’t agree Raz.
Of course I’m not saying Pep is the better manager just based on today. I’s a general observation.
Yes Man City has a deep squad, but Liverpool has made some very good signings this year and is much deeper than last year (Allison, Fabinho, Keita, Shaqiri…)
I think many people look at the front three, but many games are won in the midfield, the “engine” of the game. Today Liverpool’s one was pretty bad, and Klopp’s line up, subsitutions, and unability to change system don’t go in his favour.
And I completely disagree with your statement on Guardiola.
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree smile

        • I was expecting Shaq (for Mane).
          Think everyone was.
Once I saw Lallana, knew the game was over.

        • Frenchie says:

          Yep agree Cookie.
And to your point below, well done to Everton! smile

i think it was crying out for a “not like for like” change with the mid 3 becoming a 2. Fuck it. its an opportunity missed. in a game of limited clear cut chances, you have to take them when they come.
