Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 36

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 36. It’s almost back to a
sense of normality for GW36. We saw ‘almost’ because we do have another Friday deadline this week (and while we’re talking about it, GW37 is the same). It’s Huddersfield’s chance this week to see if they can win the award for conceding the softest ever penalty to Liverpool as they visit Anfield. James Milner for captain anyone?!

We then move into the weekend proper and it’s a lunchtime kick off at Spurs as Poch’s men host their nemesis from the east end.

Four 3pm matches follow as Everton visit Palace, Fulham try and drag Cardiff down with them, we have a battle of the south coast as Saints host Bournemouth and Watford & Wolves get to re-enact their entertaining Cup semi-final.

The evening match sees Duffy & Dunk get another opportunity to taunt owners as they try and stop Newcastle’s modern day duo of Shearer and Ferdinand as Perez & Rondon stroll into town.

Only a few hours rest before our game-week comes to a close with Sunday’s final three matches.

Opening the show is Arsenal’s visit to Leicester before Man City have the chance to reclaim top spot as they go to Burnley.

The comedy is rightly left to the end as the spluttering divas from Man Utd and Chelsea meet at Old Trafford.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 36 from all at FF247!

So Sterling or Salah for the rest of the season?
I have Mane and Kun as offensive cover from city and Pool. It will be Eriksen that will leave my team

I did Sterling to Mane before this week. So far Mane has done his part. Thinking of Wilson to Rashford for next week. Have to be ruthless, as no point taking hits this close to the end.

Good morning. Congratulations to those who’re hitting or approaching yet another century this weekend!

As everybody here knows, it’s far too soon to be contemplating making GW37 transfers, but as proof that I won’t just be knee-jerking if either of these players excel this afternoon:

Salah —> Sterling and Gray —> Rashford, a 4-point hit, is already on my mind.

Is it criminal to be selling Salah — especially after what he’s just done — immediately? Quite possibly, yes, but I just feel that Sterling’s got 2 better fixtures remaining.

Now, as you’ve probably realised already, bringing in Sterling like this doesn’t require that 4-point hit above. Bringing in Rashford too’s effectively a separate proposition; Deeney’s return will render Gray useless. It’ll effectively boil down to this:

    Salah + Deulofeu + 4 points (+ Gray for back-up) vs Sterling + Rashford (+ Deulofeu for back-up).

Rosco recently mentioned how 4-point hits to remove players who still have reasonably strong opportunities to produce hauls are rarely wise — well, or words to that effect, at least — an observational caution that I’m inclined to support. However, if United and Rashford show some fight later on, I’ll probably be compelled to make these transfers after the European action.

Any thoughts or objections? I’d happily discuss this ‘Rash’ness further if so.

Both Liverpool & Man City have it all to play for, both could do well. I feel Salah is back in form. Swapping sterling for Salah is like for like, however sterling give you funds to use else where. However who can tell last 2 weeks tend to be unpredictable!

      Gavy says:

I have Bobby in my team, if hes not playing or on the bench Wednesday he’ll more then likely become rashford before Friday. Hard to look passed this years wiping boys form.

      • jamesimmo says:

It really is, especially when every opponent of Huddersfield since GW30 has had at least one player who’s grabbed a double-digit haul, remarkably. We’ll have to see how they fare today.

      Kralin says:

The -4 at this stage could be tricky to get back. Depends a bit on OR. The higher you are the more jam-packed it is and minor variations can have a huge effect. So I would avoid, if possible.

But to answer, no it’s not criminal, especially if you own Mane.

      • jamesimmo says:

I’m looking at it and thinking “yep, with Deulofeu facing Chelsea whilst Rashford faces Huddersfield, it’s feasible to reclaim those 4+ points…”

However, as you rightfully say, the 4-point hit would initially sting.

I’ve got Mané to compensate for this one. My strategy’s been more care-free than usual this year!

    Seren says:

    Morning all,

21points adrift from my ML leader, after a terrible wk34 following my wildcard I have made up ground. I have Aguero & Laporte left to play this GW & he was Pogba, lacazette & sterling. I really hope sterling does not kill me.

      jamesimmo says:

Here’s to Agüero + Laporte stealing the show.

Great rank, by the way; that’s a tough mini-league, but you’ve got a decent chance.

      • Seren says:

Thanks. Your rank is not too bad either smile. After 4 years of finishing around the 150k-160k mark I would love to end this season significantly better than that.

        • jamesimmo says:

Those were 4 ridiculously consistent seasons, Serendipity, damn. That’s mad! Even if not quite the ranking range that you were hoping to fall within. Thanks for your thoughts above too; Salah and Sterling really don’t have much between them now.
