Fantasy Premier League £500 Regulars League 2019/20

Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League(s).

The purpose of this article is so that our Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season such as cup draws and the like. It is permanently linked on our Hot Topics just above the latest comments.

As usual we will have a Regulars Classic League and we also have H2H leagues with promotion and relegation as well as a Regulars Cup starting in January.

We do have a main FF247 league and that is open to every man/woman and their dog. There is no autolink facility available from FPL yet but if you wish to join that one, for which there will also be a prize, the code is;

FF247 Main Site League – ikkny1 Which is almost kinky…

The Regulars League is a bit more selective. You have to be a member of FF247 and you have to post comments in the community here on a regular enough basis to be easily recognisable, and posting is monitored by the way.

Its not hard to join, e-mail me (Elle) at the address below and leave these details for me.
1- Your site user name.
2- Your real name.
3- Your team name from last season and new team name if it has changed. New members, just your team name.

These leagues are free to join but you do need to mail me. Deadline is midnight on the 6th August for the H2H leagues as I’ll need time to promote people if we have drop-outs. The Classic Regulars League can remain open for longer. Get mailing folks :- elleffcee@gmail.com

All we ask is that if you enter the league please keep the league code to yourself and don’t share it with friends and family who don’t frequent the site. It’s a community only league and we would like to keep it that way.

Thanks for reading Fantasy Premier League £500 Regulars League 2019/20. This article was written by Ellefcee

Here is what the auto pick left me.

Anyone watch the England vs USA semi-final tonight? England played generally well against a steadfast and well-honed team, but after the VAR offside call, the missed penalty and red card there really wasn’t much hope.

      lamderek says:

That offside goal was such a tight call. The missed pen was just a bad miskick under pressure I think. Had our chances but ultimately USA had better experience. Going into extra time, we still could have tried to get something, bit a few sloppy passes and rushed decisions meant we didn’t really threaten in the end.

Saw bits of the last 20. If nothing else it’s changed my mind on VAR. It’s basically going to suck the fun out of any goal scored next season. That was a prime example. And they need to go back to the ‘daylight’ rule too.

      • Colriles says:

Exactly. VAR is crap. I’m a Yank and I still thought the Eng goal should have stood. If it’s not clear to the naked eye in real time you can’t take a goal like that off the board. It’s getting like the NFL where you can’t celebrate a touchdown because they’re all reviewed and after 3 minutes in the booth you don’t feel like celebrating anymore!

        • inittowinit says:

It’s supposed to be for ‘clear and obvious (potential) errors’. I don’t care a jot about that game in particular but that principle isn’t upheld in that instance and so suggests that it’s simply going to be a review of anything and everything, because as you say, that certainly wasn’t either clear or obvious at all at the first look.

        • Kralin says:

I thought that was the whole point of VAR: the naked eye stuff (like run outs in cricket, where close calls are virtually impossible to judge).

(As a side issue, before neutral umpires there were some very dodgy run outs given in cricket.)

      • I was rooting for the US and hated that call. Just count it. I wish they only use VAR for possible red card stuff and leave it at that.

Fck it, don’t use it at all, it really has sucked the fun out of the Copa America.

      Kralin says:

I did. We let ourselves down with some very sloppy passing and poor marking but did enough to push the USA pretty much all the way. We were nearly gifted an own-goal as well. But they were definitely the better side and pressed really well, causing us continual problems.

I wish I could put Ellen White into my team. Terrific finisher. A shame she didn’t take the penalty.

      • inittowinit says:

No idea who took it but that was about as lame a pen as you’ll see. It was a worse effort than the Fowler one vs Seaman when he didn’t have the heart to score. But which McAteer hilariously did smile

At least that one forced a rebound, this one the keeper could have put the kettle on first and then strolled over to pick it up.

@Mito – FFS! Just logged in to make my moves for the semis and it’s already locked! Grrr I have Gabriel Jesus as capo from last round so either he does something or you can still catch me!

    • 57.1

I thought I made a bunch of moves and apparently I didn’t. Had sold a lot and only had Chilean and Brazilian players. Made Jesus captain.

Had Tite, Alves, Marquinhos, Thiago, Everton, Coutinho and Jesus (c) from Chile had Aranguiz, Vidal, Alexis and 3 others. Had one bench guy just in case. Just looked and nothing. sad

It said I had time, not sure what happened.

If anyone loves their cycling or even if you don’t still join in, it is super easy with the rules in place for this league. You only have to set your team up and pick a captain before stage 1 and that is it. There are transfers allowed and captaincy changes in the game, but if you are in this league the rule is be lazy and don’t do any. So basically pick a team and just let it be.

Who cares if you don’t know shite about cycling, some of you don’t know anything about football and still play fpl. 😉

Hello guys hope you’re all well, I’m here for my annual pre-season appearance before I disappear for another 12 months!

My question to yous is does Zaha become more favourable or less favourable if he moves to Arsenal? Thanks in advance.

      Rosco says:

Hey Griff, nice to have you back if only for a fleeting visit!! In my opinion, it makes him a better option if he nails down a starting spot. Had he been a midfielder last season he would have scored 164 points placing him 8th in the top scoring midfielders for a palace team not exactly prolific. Stick him in a team with Auba and Laca and I can only see this improve his creative output.

Better at Arsenal for me. A record signing will start every week and he will be in a better team

Hey Griff, great to see you.
I think Zaha will be a even better pick if he joins Arsenal.
      Especially if Laca leaves

      mkencon says:

Better at Arsenal in my opinion. And considering how many pens were given with VAR in the World Cup, he may get even more “assists” from drawing pens this upcoming season

    Stone Frog says:

I’ve not seen much love for Jimenez (probably due to fuxtures). Ownership is sky high at 44% so will be a risk not to own him. There are potentially some nice diffetentials in terms of ownership: Alonso 3% and the rest of Che, Pogba 7%, Eriksen 5%, David Silva 3%, Coleman 3%.

    • 60.1
      inittowinit says:

Probably early days to be giving too much credence to ownership stats. Many will have hit auto fill and left it at that. I’ve certainly not touched mine since I did so.

      Kralin says:

Fixtures and looming UEFA Cup responsibilities. His handsome face will become hardened, bitter, the face of someone facing-down some deep inner turmoil. The face of a man no longer in control of his Thursday evenings (unless he has the guile to come up with convincing excuses for missing the matches).

Unlike others I have been looking, slightly obsessively, at the ownership stats – mainly of players who I know, because of their high price, wouldn’t have been on the auto-select. Though, sadly, I even find the auto-select skewed figures of some interest (seeing them rise, seeing them fall as managers become more engaged).

    • 60.3
      mkencon says:

Not planning on going anywhere near Jimenez, personally considering his price and their early fixtures. I’ve got Silva and Coleman in my current lineup though

      • Kralin says:

I have KdB and keep moving between him and Silva. The former with Son partly in mind (easy swap if need be), though hopefully KdB will be enough.

The Coleman/Digne thing is causing me lack of sleep and I’m wandering around feeling half-dead.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

I coughed up the extra for Digne as I just feel so much more secure with him, Coleman might be a bit of a has-been whereas Digne is a rising star!

        • Kralin says:

And all the rain falls down amen
On the works of last year’s man.

    • 60.4
      Zed Leppelin says:

Too expensive for me with those fixtures as the 6.5m lads are better imo, or should I say combinations such as Salah/King seems better than Jimenez/De Bryine for instance… But yeah Jimenez is not by any means a bad pick, depends on team structure smile

    • 60.5
      Smash says:

Jimenez is too expensive with me. Wolves fixtures and the amount of games have put me off. This is mainly due to other options. DSilva I’d expect to play less this season as 34 and City have a lot of options, Digne I think is worth the extra 0.5 over Coleman, Eriksen is strongly linked with a move away currently. Alonso could still be interesting if Chelsea decide to go back to wingbacks which is possible to fit Kante and Jorginho in the middle. I was expecting him to drop to 6 though. You can get VVD for same price or cough up just 0.5 for TAA and Robbo
