Fantasy Premier League £500 Regulars League 2019/20

Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League(s).

The purpose of this article is so that our Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season such as cup draws and the like. It is permanently linked on our Hot Topics just above the latest comments.

As usual we will have a Regulars Classic League and we also have H2H leagues with promotion and relegation as well as a Regulars Cup starting in January.

We do have a main FF247 league and that is open to every man/woman and their dog. There is no autolink facility available from FPL yet but if you wish to join that one, for which there will also be a prize, the code is;

FF247 Main Site League – ikkny1 Which is almost kinky…

The Regulars League is a bit more selective. You have to be a member of FF247 and you have to post comments in the community here on a regular enough basis to be easily recognisable, and posting is monitored by the way.

Its not hard to join, e-mail me (Elle) at the address below and leave these details for me.
1- Your site user name.
2- Your real name.
3- Your team name from last season and new team name if it has changed. New members, just your team name.

These leagues are free to join but you do need to mail me. Deadline is midnight on the 6th August for the H2H leagues as I’ll need time to promote people if we have drop-outs. The Classic Regulars League can remain open for longer. Get mailing folks :- elleffcee@gmail.com

All we ask is that if you enter the league please keep the league code to yourself and don’t share it with friends and family who don’t frequent the site. It’s a community only league and we would like to keep it that way.

Just the start of the tinkering. I am so used to having a strong forward line…but not sure they are the answer right now.
    What do you think?
    Cheers!

      @Bees…

The GKs don’t strike me as a great option. They don’t rotate very well and the easier fixture most weeks at the start of the season will be the away one, which is not ideal when dealing with these two teams. If you are willing to spend 9.5 on two, I would consider just picking up a 5.5 keeper and 4.0 one even if they don’t play.

Smith and Bednarek aren’t very reliable point scorers and similar to your keepers they don’t rotate well in terms of you getting ideal fixtures. Wouldn’t matter too much if they were just bench guys, but looking at your team, it looks like you will probably need to play one to form your likely XI.

Your mids are strong, your attack could be good value, but understandably a bit weakened by the midfield investments. Not in love with Wolves fixtures and would prefer to avoid Hammers the 1st Gw if possible, but both strikers are solid players and may still get you good points.

      • Otieno says:

If you want to rotate keepers Schmeichel looks a better partner for Ryan. Impressed you got both Salah and Mane into the midfield but of course that has meant cuts elsewhere.

    For ~20m A, B or C?
    A: Sterling & Wilson
    B: KDB & Kane
    C: Kun & Siggy/Bernardo.

    Hey everyone.
    Hope you are all well.

1st draft after many transfer tweaks.
still needs many tweaks I feel
No many left with this team.

Always sneaking in those Hammers into your teams. smile

      Kralin says:

Might as well get a 4m goalkeeper and save a few pence; similarly a 4m defender (Kelly is possible).

      • hammerfan_lm says:

that would give me an extra 1m, but still not convinced on my strikers.
Only Aguero is my decent striker.
Can i shave any money from elsewhere to give me a decent 2nd striker, without compromising my other positions

        • Kralin says:

Depends how much you want to shave off, Hammerfan – do you want to go full Brazilian?

If so, maybe Luiz could be waxed out of the equation for a cheapo and see where that leaves you.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

Ditching Luiz for a cheapo would give me a bit more funds, but would only really give me 2 decent defenders, other than Digne.
My formation would really then be 2/3-4-2 (2 at a stretch with tinkering).

But, is it me or is it tougher to pick a decent side this season?

        • Kralin says:

It doesn’t seem any worse than previous seasons. The circle is never easy to square at this stage.

Frankly it’s not until the Charity Shield – where maybe we’ll see Pep and Klopp show their hands (like who’ll be VVD’s most likely partner, etc) – that I’ll fully jerk into life.

So much at this stage is not known.

      GentleBenAKA says:

Surely Chelsea are an unknown quantity at the moment? I can imagine getting them in when some prove their worth but who knows what’ll happen first couple of games? Or is that just me? Luiz to fodder gives you some movement elsewhere and I think Digne is great (consider Coleman) but as you say it means you change formation if you do that. I’d suggest dropping 2nd gk to fodder or drop Allison to Ryan’s understudy – One or the other.

      • Kralin says:

I had Ryan and his understudy but moved the latter out, just in case Brighton – and I know this is highly unlikely but their fixtues aren’t bad – get off to a flier and prove to be a useful source of enablers. A cheap forward, for example. So it’s Ryan and Woodman for me at the moment.

On the subject of Brighton I moved Dunk in the other day, anticipating a move to Leicester, and thinking ahead to a situation where I don’t start with three expensive defenders.

      • Kralin says:

Agree completely about Chelsea – and I’ve added Man U to that list. Regardless of pre-season propaganda I’d like to see them in action first – if people look good then the GW3 swoop can happen.

No doubt I’ll cravenly go back on all that; but that’s the theory.

I think they have changed the ”team number” in the ”gameweek history” URL.

So everyone needs to update their username link here…

    Right?

Tinkering, impossible maths and hunting for bargains aside: where has the free hit chip gone?! 😮 . Looks like it’s only BB and TC this season.

It’ll be there when gw 1 kicks off.

      inittowinit says:

It’s there in the grand scheme. Just not applicable for GW1.

    • 24.3
      Kralin says:

Like something in a dream, it’s there but it’s not there.

You essentially have a FH chip in GW1 as you have complete freedom now to do as you will.

I wonder how many will be able to delay their gratification until GW2 (though I suppose they have little choice).

I hope your (endlessly free hitting) team is coming along well.

      • Loud Atlas says:

Thanks Elle, Init and Kralin, good to know! I hadn’t thought of rechecking the rules page (oops!). It makes sense that it’s not there for GW1, just would’ve been nice to see a placeholder greyed out or something.

Same old problem with the team, Kralin: too many players not enough dosh. Plenty of time though 😀 ! Hope it’s going well for you all.
