Fantasy Premier League £500 Regulars League 2019/20

Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League(s).

The purpose of this article is so that our Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season such as cup draws and the like. It is permanently linked on our Hot Topics just above the latest comments.

As usual we will have a Regulars Classic League and we also have H2H leagues with promotion and relegation as well as a Regulars Cup starting in January.

We do have a main FF247 league and that is open to every man/woman and their dog. There is no autolink facility available from FPL yet but if you wish to join that one, for which there will also be a prize, the code is;

FF247 Main Site League – ikkny1 Which is almost kinky…

The Regulars League is a bit more selective. You have to be a member of FF247 and you have to post comments in the community here on a regular enough basis to be easily recognisable, and posting is monitored by the way.

Its not hard to join, e-mail me (Elle) at the address below and leave these details for me.
1- Your site user name.
2- Your real name.
3- Your team name from last season and new team name if it has changed. New members, just your team name.

These leagues are free to join but you do need to mail me. Deadline is midnight on the 6th August for the H2H leagues as I’ll need time to promote people if we have drop-outs. The Classic Regulars League can remain open for longer. Get mailing folks :- elleffcee@gmail.com

All we ask is that if you enter the league please keep the league code to yourself and don’t share it with friends and family who don’t frequent the site. It’s a community only league and we would like to keep it that way.

    Morning all!

Seems a lot earlier than usual to have access to fpl for the new season?

Feels like the united/arsenal/chelsea players could offer good value if any start the season well.

Anybody watch enough Derby County to have an idea how Frank would line up with Chelsea and what his preferred style is?

      Yes a few ifs.

I’m steering clear, for now anyway, and looking more at sides who have decent fixtures (once my Liverpool and City cadre is settled). Everton and so on. Having said that, you only have to look at Palace a couple of seasons ago, who had seemingly perfect fixtures, to know that that approach can be fraught with risk. But what to do.

Lukaku and Sanchez may yet be very handy assets – the former in for Wilson, perhaps, if things are looking good – but I’m thinking if I’m set up well for the always highly unpredictable beginning then missing out shouldn’t be terminal.

@Webstar, only watched a few minutes of Derby this season, basically their game vs Leeds and Villa, so hard to form an opinion on a manager that way. So I turn to sites that show what formations they consistently played and it looks like he stuck to a 4-3-3 (28 times) or 4-2-3-1 (19 times). The latter being his most used towards the end of the season. That formation makes a lot of sense to me if he wants to use Kante and Jorginho as double pivots.

Really have to watch him close this pre-season, because there is no guarantee that he plays Luiz or Pedro or any of the others that some have included in their teams early on. Was hoping FPL price Zouma in case he stayed. Chance he start under Lampard and was hoping he be value, but starting to doubt he will be cheaper than 5.5

Kind of interested in what he does with Barkley and if he sticks with Giroud then he could be good value for money.

        • if he plays a double pivot with Kante and Jorginho in a 4-2-3-1, decent chance that Barkley starts at the cam position in particular since RLC will be out at the start, although Mount could pose a threat there. Giroud could be great value, but the waters could be muddied a bit there also with Tammy and if one of their on loan strikers is made to return.

Very true. It’s barkley in cam I’d be curious in more than anything. Would’ve been Hudson odoi but not at that price!

Morning everyone. It certainly does feel as if the bell has sounded early this season! I suspect there will have to be considerable movement in the listings as we progress toward August.

My other observation is linked to the line-ups. 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 would appear to offer more value than my old favourite 3-4-3.

Anyway, that being said I couldnt resist an evening of test and learn combinations.

    Draft 1 of many…..below

Hi all, hope everyone’s having a good summer. No going to post a whole lot between now and August, just had the 1 question. With higgs and haz gone from Chelsea who do you think will be on penos? If it was someone like Luiz would he have to be a must have.

Anyone feeling the love for this draft?
I like the “radical” feeling of it…..

I know it’s early, and no ones team is final yet of course. But what does your team look like atm? It’s just interesting to see what you all think is the way to go.

This is me right now, maybe need some stronger options up front, or maybe it’s a waste of funds since the midfielders scored well last season…

Anyway, show me your team! 😉

      Smash says:

Mine looks like this currently. Looking like two from Zaha, Arnie and Sanchez. Not happy with Jorginho if Hudson-Odoi is fit I’d prob prefer him. I’d go to two 4 million defenders which I’d prefer that leaves me needing 0.5 from somewhere

I never make a team early as I don’t care to tinker with it, but with my participation here in this chat, I start to form opinions and when I do make the team it probably falls in line with site thinking.

The discussions on here so far have led me to thinking.

Ederson or Alisson and a 4.0 or Ryan and Button to save some money.

Defenders one LFC and one City, a 4.0 some 4.5 and possibly Coleman or something in the 5.5 range.

Mids probably Salah, KdB, Siggy and Dendocker and some other mid based on what is left or a switch to a 4 back if I don’t see a mid I want in the 6.0 range.

Forward probably Kane and possibly something like King and Deulo.

Like the team. I’m a fan of a strong four at the back. I have been considering something similar. There could be an argument for having one premium striker. Kane has Villa and New at home in the first 3.
