Fantasy Premier League £500 Regulars League 2019/20

Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League(s).

The purpose of this article is so that our Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season such as cup draws and the like. It is permanently linked on our Hot Topics just above the latest comments.

As usual we will have a Regulars Classic League and we also have H2H leagues with promotion and relegation as well as a Regulars Cup starting in January.

We do have a main FF247 league and that is open to every man/woman and their dog. There is no autolink facility available from FPL yet but if you wish to join that one, for which there will also be a prize, the code is;

FF247 Main Site League – ikkny1 Which is almost kinky…

The Regulars League is a bit more selective. You have to be a member of FF247 and you have to post comments in the community here on a regular enough basis to be easily recognisable, and posting is monitored by the way.

Its not hard to join, e-mail me (Elle) at the address below and leave these details for me.
1- Your site user name.
2- Your real name.
3- Your team name from last season and new team name if it has changed. New members, just your team name.

These leagues are free to join but you do need to mail me. Deadline is midnight on the 6th August for the H2H leagues as I’ll need time to promote people if we have drop-outs. The Classic Regulars League can remain open for longer. Get mailing folks :- elleffcee@gmail.com

All we ask is that if you enter the league please keep the league code to yourself and don’t share it with friends and family who don’t frequent the site. It’s a community only league and we would like to keep it that way.

Thanks for reading Fantasy Premier League £500 Regulars League 2019/20. This article was written by Ellefcee

Here’s one I made earlier have a look see what you thk

Creepily I was building something very similar, Silvers. That’s better than my effort I think, and deserves a thunderously disciplined round of applause.

Did you know Kun is in more teams that Kane at the moment? That won’t be the auto-select, either, I wouldn’t have thought (in the sense of auto-completing a XV).

      • Silvers says:

Hey Kralin yes still tinkering but let’s say this is 1 of 100 I’m not a lover of Kane not sure why

It’s hard to get away from a big four at the back

        • Kralin says:

I think your side is pretty sound. I appreciate nobody is where they will finally be. Kun should cover Kane, it’s just Kane’s bargain-basement price has brought him sharply into focus.

B Silva seems a fine pick for me – Moura is the other one I’m thinking of, midfield wise, and who I may go for if I choose Vardy over Kane.

    Kralin says:

Looks like Silvers has beaten me to it (only one Liverpool defender) but this effort shows that getting Sterling and Salah isn’t worth the f*c**** bother isn’t impossible. This won’t be my side, it’s just me playing around:

      Smash says:

That’s interesting. Shows me that unless some bargain defenders materialise Kane, Salah and Sterling not quite possible but could well be once we have built up some value in the future

      • Kralin says:

Yes, maybe that’s the way. Otherwise you have to load up heavily with Bournemouth players to enable things.

You can do good things with B Silva (huge ownership at the moment) and Vardy but it’s too difficult a circle to square.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

I like Mad Hatters’ team below, basically out of the three Salah/Sterling/Kane if you need to drop one out it would be Kane for me, I’d prefer both Salah and Sterling over Kane.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Unless Sanchez is a great steal at 7.0m in which case I could go with De Bruyne and Kane… Kane/Salah/De Bryune/Sigurdsson/Sanchez all in the same team looks quite mouthwatering at present… smile

        • Kralin says:

Yes, it will be strange to have Sanchez in effectively as an enabler – but it’s something I’d gladly do.

Man U’s fixtures, however (on paper anyway, and given their form last year) aren’t the easiest so I’ll be watching closely.

On the subject of Man U, W-B is more highly owned than A-A at the moment, interestingly.

        • Kralin says:

For those without Kane then Moura could play the Sanchez role for the first couple of GW – he’s been in and out of my side; I could see, possibly, some early-season enabling advantage there (fixture 1, for example).

I can also see there being a mass migration towards whoever partners VVD in the Charity Shield.

    Morning all

This will be fairly close to what I’ll end up with.
Not going for the premium striker to start with as I think they’ll be more points to be had in defence and midfield.

    Thoughts?

      Zed Leppelin says:

I like this team a lot!!

    • 45.2
      Zed Leppelin says:

If you look at points per million then the premium defs and mids are the best players in the game, forwards not so much, so that would suggest this team structure is the best smile

    • 45.3
      Kralin says:

Looks fine to me. After a complex opening West Ham’s fixtures aren’t bad at all and on paper you’d favour them over Wolves’, whose Jiminez and Jota, the former in particular, appear in a lot of sides.

Avoiding Kane – who has good home games and more fraught away ones – is something I’m pondering as well. However the lure of that first game and subsequent home games – and the prospect of getting off to a steady start – makes him appealing.

I suppose you need a plan b where if say Kane starts brightly you can move him in without too much dismantling.

      But the side’s fine.

      Kralin says:

Points per million is not something I’ve ever really taken into massive consideration in the past, and I probably should. It’s been a metric too far and so it’s been quite a blind spot with me: I’ve been more preoccupied with form and fixtures, who hoovers up the bonuses and so on.

At this stage, where of course what seem on paper a good set of fixtures can go badly wrong, then the PPM analysis is handy (and certainly justifies the 4 at the back formations we’re seeing here).

Do you fancy Moura ahead of Zaha (the uncertainty of a new side making the latter less appealing)?

      Smash says:

Great team. Might as well take a button as back up

    • 45.6
      Silvers says:

Good team MadHatter just not sure of going without 1 big fwd something to ponder

      webstar87 says:

Button as sub to cover Ryan just in case but I’d be surprised if you have to make many more changes between now and GW1 as you’re pretty set on/with the Liverpool trio.

    hammers says:

Anyone thinking that with VAR & the updated handball rules there could be a shed load of pens this year?

IMO this makes the regular pen takers even better picks than before, & maybe makes you think twice about investing too much in the premium defenders as CS pts might not be as easy to come by if the number of pens will potentially increase.

    • 46.1
      Zed Leppelin says:

Not sure about shed loads smile but yeah I think the amount of pens will increase mainly due to referees being rather reluctant/careful towards awarding pens in the past…

    • 46.2
      Zed Leppelin says:

Don’t know whether the pens will increase enough to warrant a new way of thinking the game though, the strategies of playing the game will (imo) remain the same, don’t think there will be many pens awarded against City and Pool for instance, it’s more against other teams that see the ball a lot more in their own box than the big teams… But the cheap penalty takers could be slightly better than before!

      • Zed Leppelin says:

Even the pen takers of the top-6 teams, they will most likely get more chances at penalties and might score more goals, on the other hand there will be more chances for cheap goalkeepers to save pens so cheap goalies could be better this season than last season…

    • 46.3
      GentleBenAKA says:

Someone has previously posted the stats for other leagues where VAR was introduced. It suggested number of penalties won’t go up (I guess because VAR takes away the incorrectly given penalties just as much as it gives penalties the ref didn’t see).

    • 46.4
      Smash says:

I agree with Zed. However I’m torn on whether it might make Jorginho a decent option

    Kop Warrior says:

Spurs have made a 2nd signing!!

  6. 48
    Smash says:

Arnie seems to have handed in a transfer request so not sure he’s a great option anymore regardless
