Fantasy Premier League Intro 2018/19

Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Intro 2018/19. As most of you are aware, FPL has been live for a couple of weeks now, but due to England’s surprising progress to the semi-finals and many of you playing both the Fantasy World Cup game and our very own Predictions Competition we have delayed any FPL articles until today. It’s full speed ahead now though as we look forward to the start of the season which kicks off on Friday 10th August.

If you’ve not been with us over the summer then we hope you feel refreshed and renewed and enjoyed some fantasy-free time. We extend a particular welcome to our new friends who have migrated over from Fantasy Football First – we hope you feel welcome and at home with us.

The purpose of this article is kick off FPL but also to provide you with all the necessary links that you will need…

FPL LEAGUES
First things first and some housekeeping – please be sure to join the main FF247 league here (autojoin link) League Code: 1581-751

There is a ‘Regulars’ league too but for access to this you need to contact Elle via elleffcee@gmail.com
This one is specifically for those who join in on the site conversation on a daily / weekly basis. Please respect that criteria before applying and wasting Elle’s time and ours.

FPL RULES
The rules for the game are simply as per last season – you have two wildcards to use, one in the first half of the season only and one to use in the second half of the season only. The other chips also remain the same – namely Triple Captain, Bench Boost and Free Hit.

So really it’s just time to start building your team if you haven’t already. No doubt the tinkering will continue right up until the GW1 deadline as players impress or not as the case may be, in preseason friendlies.

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES
Usually we run an article and ask people to get involved and cover the friendlies with any info they can gather. And it’s usually fun but in all honesty it’s usually also a bit messy and difficult to refer back to. This season we have one link that you will need need for all such info, courtesy of Mito –

FPL Pre-Season Info

Here you will find all the pre-season info you could ever wish for in one place – line-ups, scorers, assists, match info, sarcastic comments….

FPL FIXTURE TRACKER

(It’s scrollable btw, just swipe left or right)

FIXTURE TRACKER 2018/19

It’s been a busy summer already with Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Chelsea appointing new managers, Manchester City adding to their already dominant squad, Man Utd continuing to splash the cash and Liverpool trying to protect Karius by beefing up their midfield. Spurs may even have a new home soon.

And FPL wise, this is the place to discuss strategy, learn about the promoted teams and their players while in the days and weeks to come we’ll have plenty of articles, interviews, player analysis, Bore Offs, Tips, etc, etc.

So be sure to get involved in the discussions, the RMTs and the banter as we look forward to another season of Fantasy fun!

*terms and conditions apply and are available upon request. Management reserve the right to review membership of this league on an ongoing basis. Hey guys and gals, it’s great to see everybody up and running and the RMTs starting to fly out smile Got my 1st draft below, although it REALLY is a 1st draft. Feel free to rip it apart smile

Couple Qs that i had about a few though if anyone could help.

    1. Don’t see a lot of ManU players in RMTs. Any reason? Surely a ManU def is a prudant pick up with quite a nice start to the season. Leading me on to Q2
    2. Which ManU def do you think is the best choice. I was thinking Smalling, but am not sure. Plus FFF seems to have him as a blank GW1. Any thoughts on why this is?
    3. Is Jagielka a deff non-starter for Everton? He seems to be getting overlooked by everyone, but seems to me to be a cheap option into the Eve defence.
    4. On previous topic regarding Salah, he’s the 1st name on my sheet and while i’ll prob make a draft without him it’s unlikely ill use it. Yes, i dont think he’ll hit the 300 mark this season, but as stated before it’s easier to get rid of him for the form player than scramble to get him.
    5. Any thoughts on Pope or Pickford?

Thanks guys. GL to all and i look forward to the many drafts and articles to come

      My opinion

      1. As JM has sound that all WC player will need to rest before he throw away them to play, i need to evaluate and look who is the player that JM choose during pre season. But for now, i have none interest towards them except DDG. But, money is the problem to get DDG. lol

      2. Valencia is the nailed one i think as for CB its either Lindelof (high confidence due to WC), Bailly, Smalling and Jones.

      3. If I.m not mistaken ,Everton trying to buy 1 more defender. So need to keep on pre season match to see which duo are in for Everton CB

      4. I agreed on this

      5. Pope have done remarkably well when Heaton injured including being picked for National Team. it should be brave decision from Dyche to remove Pope from 1st 11. But what i will do is to look at their pre season match. As Burnley in UEFA cup, I’m sure one of the keeper will be starting UEFA and others for EPL

      Smash says:

      1) United players are pretty expensive. I’m guessing it will be Bailey and Smalling to start the season. De Gea is 0.5 more than all the other keepers. Valencia don’t get too many points going forward. Their attack just don’t score enough goals under defensive Mourinho
      3) I don’t see it as Everton will sign a CB. Williams is finished, Jags is really old now so might even be Holgate
      4) Agree
      5) I’d prefer Pickford. Not sure how Europa will affect Burnley. Plus if Heaton was not number one I’d expect him to leave

Hey guys how are we all tinkering away I hope looking fwd to the articles starting going to be tough having Salah in your team , he’s in my @ present but not sure he will stay , bring it on

If Salah flops it could be a master stroke. However it’s a massive risk with ownership and captain. You could fall 50 points off the pace very quickly because we know what he’s capable of especially in a very attacking Liverpool team with a soft opening

      Smash says:

You don’t need Ederson and Pickford. Not a fan of double Everton at the back. Downgrade Pickford to a 4 million keeper. Keep an eye on Willian. Wickham prob won’t play so use the one million to upgrade him. Change Kelly to Peltier at Cardiff or Bissaka at Palace who may start. Can’t argue against the rest though

      • xaoc says:

Hey Smash, a bit off-topic, but isn’t Ryan Bennett from Wolves also a good option as a 4.0 m defender, given they do not buy a replacement? Any Wolves followers here that can shed more light? If they start with a 3 at the back they might be pretty solid at the back and continue on last years’ defensive performances.

Hello all, good to be back for a fresh season. Fun times ahead.

    Ederson
    Robertson Jones Cedric
    Salah Mahrez Deulofeu Cairney
    Aguero Tosun Firmino

    Boruc Neves Peltier Douglas

Thoughts on this leaving me with 0.5itb?
