Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

Grab, Avoid or Bore off!

Welcome to the opening instalment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2016-17 season. Lovely to be back with you the wonderful FPL community and guess what I have in store for all of you? The same 3 fellas who always do it…well, that was an exciting announcement. Much like Wenger, I don’t like to spend money for any new strikers, so no need to break up the 3 Amigos. Unlike Wenger’s crew, this trio of attacking talent always delivers the goods, sort of. Showing that they haven’t lost a step and have all the important nuggets of information you all desire, they reveal to us things like Cahill is Cahill (shocker), that Kop is actually Mr. Excitement, that I might have a soft spot for Costa, that Cookie is absolutely ready when it comes to cheap strikers and that Init has figured out the Italian secret for preserving ageing defenders. Yes!! Yes!! With that kind of info, you certainly can’t afford to not read up and get yourself ready for the upcoming season. So without further ado, bring on Bore off! Morning all, any pointers on the Everton goalkeeper situation? Who will be playing or are they likely to buy a new one?

Hi AT, apparently Robles looked a bit dodgy again at the weekend but Stekelenburg was much better the other night. Word is that Stek will ultimately just be an understudy to a new as yet unsigned keeper.

      • AT says:

Cheers Init (and for the FantasyEagles thing yesterday).

Got a team you’re at all happy with yet? Personally finding it hard to get a decent defence with a well-rounded attack.

        • inittowinit says:

Hi AT, can’t decide on the midfield at all. So many good options right from 6.5m to the more expensive end. It’ll largely depend on whether I simply target the first 3 weeks or not I suppose.

        • AT says:

Init, there really is – which is why I’m really considering not having Ibra to allow a stronger midfield (but that could be risky)

      • NIN says:

“A bit dodgy” you say? That’s pretty good for Robles I would have thought smile

Hey Arun. A few things to say on this team. I would downgrade Valdes to Jakupovic as you probably won’t ever play Valdes over DDG. I don’t really think Wimmer is going to play so you can probably change him with the money you get from downgrading Valdes. Midfield looks okay and the other thing is Wickham you will need to keep an eye on palace to see if they buy a new forward.

Morning folks, hopefully everyone’s slowing getting to there final squads. I feel I’m very close bar any injuries or big signings. This is my current squad but I have made a few tweaks here and there to improve some places so which do you think is better:

    Team a is pic

My tweaks would be Townsend to Bolasie and J.Rod to Redmond that gives me 1 Mil to use on upgrading Schlupp to Baines and Valdes to a 5 Mil GK or leaving Schlupp and upgrading Valdes to Courtois? Which option is better or just stick with the team I have for now?

Excuse my grammar smile *slowly getting to their squads laugh haha

      • NIN says:

Morning Matt. Only thing I would change for sure would be the double Boro defence. Very risky. Rest looks fine to me.

        • Matt says:

Hey NIN. McAuley will be playing the majority of the time but I’ll be looking at the rotation chart Mito did yesterday plus I may end up changing Valdes to the No.1 when that is made clear.

Are there any 5.0 Mil defenders that may be better than Schlupp if I decide not to downgrade J.Rod?

        • NIN says:

McAuley / Mee have a good rotation, worth a look. As for 5’s, maybe Stones if he moves. I like Leicester defence though, I think they will do well again.

        • Matt says:

Ah right I’ll have a look at that cheers. I don’t think Stones is a good defender to me it’s the unusual overhyped English youngster. As for Leicester I don’t think they’ll do as good as last year but may still get CS as times. Schlupp though is a risk as I dont think he’ll play but he’s been play LM in friendlies so he’s my punt especially against Hull GW1

        • NIN says:

Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho think otherwise, I think they know better than any of us.

        • Matt says:

Well have to see if he goes first but I’m not convicted ever since he was linked to Chelsea last season he’s gone down hill imo.

        • NIN says:

So that’s it then, he’s done, never to play well again or reach his potential? Ludicrous. The best managers in the world are trying to sign him. Besides, who says Pep would be playing him in defence anyway?

        • Matt says:

No of course not! I just feel that the pressure of a big money move or nerves he’s gotten over the move has effected his game and until he can handle that and play well no matter what is said about him he doesn’t deserve that move. Where would Pep play him? DM? RB? I didn’t think he played anywhere but CB?

    Can you RMT please

    Valdes Foster
Williams McAuley Shaw Gabriel ( Stones to take over if tfr to MC ) Brad Smith
De bruyne Mkita Hazard Allen Capoue

Allen is weak but with the move to Stoke he may thrive!
