Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2019-20
Guess who’s back, back again….
With the fpl season getting closer and closer to starting, it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered the three originals, as is tradition for each first edition of the new season. As always a new season brings new hope. Hopefully this article helps a little, but not too much.
Looking back through the first Bore Off from last season, I noticed that the Amigos had many things right. All 3 had Salah as the first person in their team sheet, they were all for the LFC double up in midfield with Mane, which would have worked out well for any manager who did. Cookie and Kop were talking about a back four and in Cookie’s case he was talking up a 5 back. Cookie was ahead of his time! Init had his eye on Milivojevic and Cookie said this “Mili is obviously great for a penalty every time Zaha falls over”. Kop talked about a possible golden boot for Auba and was hopeful that Allison would sign for LFC.
Hopefully they can replicate some of their good calls for this upcoming season, let’s see what they have to say.

I love those Chilwell and Martial picks there. Thinking outside the box a bit there but both got solid credentials actually.
Trying to find a little differential at the start. If Martial plays up front for Utd, at 7.5 OOP could be on to a winner!
Martial is on my watch-list. Could be great.

Cheers, Silvers. Yeah, it is a concern not having Salah, I may need to take another look at finding £1m from somewhere to reinstate him from Mane! It’s tough, I swear the player prices are the toughest they’ve been.

Definitely a bit different, my draft for instance has two of those (not counting bench) players, Sterling and Digne… Concerns for me would be no Kane, no Salah, no TAA/Robbo… Seems like you’ve got great balance but perhaps a bit too much balance, only 1 big hitter yet the rest of the team isn’t really better than most here with 2 or even 3 big hitters in Kane/Salah/Sterling… I’d imagine you’d cap Sterling most weeks but what happens when he gets benched for instance?

Depends if he plays in the next friendly. Though I know Jota has a tough run but he’s in form at the same price

I would treat Wood’s preseason form with caution. Looks impressive but they’ve been playing a load of vastly inferior sides.
He’s not coming from nowhere though AT.

Unfortunately it appears Brooks is injured. So King is the main Bou budget option.
I agree with some of the comments I have seen about the prices, they are off I feel, I don’t know if many play the fantasy MLS but they have crazy player prices, also the positions are wrong, Salah, Mane, Sterling to name a few should be FED’s not MID’s.
I have a solid team I feel, but if I just had that extra £500k.
Or are we just spending more in than we’re used to, so we’re a bit short when stacking up the attackers?

In terms of prices being off I’m frankly relieved that Salah’s started lower this season – and that he and Sterling are still classified as mids – should get us more points.
There are plenty of bargains out there, we just don’t know who yet.
A spare 500k is always useful. Build your team value and you’ll soon be quids in, Terminators.
I have made a couple of tweaks just now and I think I have a solid team.
It’s just that they seem to pull prices out of a hat, there is not really a consistency, what price and position will Pepe be for Arsenal?
I’m going for £9m FWD.
We had a natter on site the other day about his price. I did pull a prediction out of a hat: 8.5m. Dunno about his position.
However I doubt you’d be starting with a player new to the Prem?

Hello all! It’s been a few months and I probably won’t be on again for a few days as we are mid-move, but I wanted to pop by and say “hey”! Also, I’ve just finished the first draft of my team and I wanted to throw it up on here.

Hi Pancho. Good to see you back on the boards. I like the team. I similarly took Sterling out of my team to allow for a big hitter up top but I’m just not sure KDB/Bernardo is sufficient ‘cover’ for him. Time will tell. Monitor Laporte as he is an injury doubt for GW1.
This is not far off my starting team, i think, will probably WC early as per normal!

That 10.30-11 spot on toss day is all important for the Ashes as these teams will change a lot as we go on. No idea what time that is where you are without checking but hopefully it’s about 3am!
