Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2020-21

International break time always means a Bore Off.

I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues and have asked them to answer some questions for us as best they can. Please welcome Loud Atlas who is making his debut on Bore Off. Joining him in this edition is old fart favourite Kop and the Scottish fantasy legend Gallant Pioneer.

Without further ado, let us see what they had to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

Hey fellows – some good thoughts here from our erudite FPL die-hards! Calling Giroud a ‘handsome donkey’ is a bit much though! Might hear one of his ex lovers dishing out the dirt in a book entitled ‘Mon été sous l’Olivier’ , though (My Summer under the Olive Tree)!

Good stuff anyway – and a reminder to keep one’s head when negotiating IBs amid crazy atypical season GWs! (‘A Wildcard in the hand is worth 2 in the bush’!) .

Cheerio & GL for your various national teams over the next week! smile

I wouldn’t want a Liverpool defender on a WC. You’ve also given yourself a massive benching headache every week.

      • Dazza says:

Hi Kop, Unfortunatly being a Liverpool fan is probably why I’m not doing so well, I also had TTA but can not think of who to replace Robertson with and then what to do with the change.

I also had a previous headache of none of my bench playing so I don’t mind (I think) of having the opposite problem I hope

      Nice team
      But,
      I’d Lose Lindelof for Lamptey
      Not sure about Cancelo
Salah for Mane (only b’cus of pens)
Probly needs some Spurs & City attack in there.

      • Dazza says:

Thanks, I do like the eye test on lampty, but I thought the same about Cancelo, Concerned about Spurs fixtures, and City I would like to get KDB but to expensive, but another week to go

        • Dazza, form over fixtures here. Kane and Son are the best current tandem in the game. City are not at their best for keeping CS so far this season, therefore a goal or two are very likely.

      Veer says:

I agree about the benching headache, what formation would you plan to play?
Also wouldn’t have Robertson, though I think Cancelo is a good pick – fairly nailed on and great fixtures from GW 10.
You need some City attack in there for their fixtures, KDB would be the one I’d go for as he’s least likely to be rotated

I sure wish I still had a wildcard I could play around with

      • Dazza says:

I agree on the bench, but my previous bench kept not playing, and I think I have now gone to the other extreme, I usually play only 3 at the back and focus on upfront that’s why I choose AVL and Utd def
I was thinking between KDB and Fernandes, still cannot make my mind up

        Thanks

I am also on a Wildcard this international break and am struggling to add City mids to go along with all the other big hitters that I want. Salah’s diagnosis might make it a bit easier though…

For yours I agree that I would downgrade Robertson and an attacker and bring in KDB/Sterling. Jota is an interesting pick, I am also tempted.

Many thanks all, great read as ever. Missed answering the Giroud question. Might touch on it in this weeks Fixtures article. If I ever get a chance to finish writing it!

Strange old week here as I’m now in some sort of isolation as a result of a bubble going down at my eldest’s school.

And I hate staying in. So if I get even more grumpy over the next week or so please forgive me!

Cheers Salah you partying dummy. With Mitchell, Wilson, Stephens and Saiss already to worry about. I’m going to be challenging cookies -20 at this rate :dash:
