The one with Russ… Part 2
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 GW4. Our mirror image is back again so soon, as promised. If you wildcarded on the back of Russ Part 1 then well done as it probably paid dividends and here you are for part 2 of that, probably already set up and ready to go. If you didn’t then either way it’s GW4 this midweek and you will have at least 2 FT’s, maybe 3.

The main purposes of this article are threefold; to remind you to do your team, to provide a separate CL space to ask for help and advice from the community and to hopefully reciprocate in that aim and lastly just somewhere to chat about the games as they happen; a CL Live Match Chat if you like.

Let’s go take a look at the fixtures and how the Regulars League is shaping up…

Housekeeping GW3
The main points to consider this week are as follows;

    • Transfers
      You get two free transfers each week and this one is no different. You can choose to carry one over should you wish, but you will never get more than three in any GW, which means that you should have somewhere between 2 & 3 transfers for this week.
    • Deadlines / Manual Subs / Captain Switches
      There are two, essentially. The first and main one is at kick off on Tuesday which is 5.55pm UK time. You will get to see the line-ups of 4 teams prior to it (Barcelona, Slavia, Zenit & Leipzig).

The second is on Wednesday at the same time. This is the one before which you can change your team around, bring in your subs manually and also change your captain to a Wednesday player, if you so wish.

When setting your team up just make sure that all of your ‘Tuesday’ players are on the pitch to begin with, you can then bring your ‘Wednesday’ guys in prior to 5.55pm on that day. Likewise with your captain.

The Game Itself and the FF247 League Codes

You can access the game here – Fantasy Champions League

We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are about 800 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!

Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.

We did ask that people respected the purpose and integrity of this one; that is to say that you should only enter it if you consider yourself to be a Regular Community member on here. But this was unfortunately not adhered to. The phrase ‘this is why we can’t have nice things’ springs to mind. As a result we have booted about 50 people out of it who we do not recognise. If you find yourself suspended and feel you shouldn’t be then please just say so in the comments below and we shall happily reinstate you.

    DMC says:

    Would you lose DeJong and Tomori’s 7 pts for Cancelo and Taison? I mean, Taison is nailed but nothing from him in UCL this season but for 2 pointers so maybe that’s what he’ll get in this tough match away at Zagreb. Cancelo I would happily put in Tomori’s place but will he start? I don’t know, this could be a trap and 7 points are 7 points. Or just do the Tomori -> Cancelo and keep De Jong’s 4 pts?

      I’d probably replace Tomori with Taison and leave it at that.

      • DMC says:

        Yeah, that’s probably wiser. Instead of risking a Cancelo no-show I’m just risking a Taison blank and losing 1 pt vs possible returns.
        Thx

        • I am with init on that one DMC. This will be a crucial match for both teams as they are on the same points and the winner will move to second place. Dinamo are strong at home and have won the last six games in all competitions with a CS in each, while Shakhtar have massive problem at the moment with many injured key players.

        • Ooops, I meant risking Taison. Cancelo is predicted to start but we all know with Pep……

        • DMC says:

          Ah! So you are instead advocating for a Tomori-»Cancelo move and leave Taison rotting on the bench! I saw that from whoscored too but I don’t trust them that mutch as they can sometimes miss badly. That said, I’ve checked their previews on City’s UCL last 3 games and they have missed only the first one regarding Cancelo’s situation. The cavet is that that was the only away game and they predicted he’d start. Hum I need to consult with my gut…

        • smile Yep, gut feelings are the best for UCL. You are right about whoscored, I follow their EPL predictions as well and tbh there is no more than 60% accuracy most of the times.

        • DMC says:

          In the end I got stuck in a meeting and my gut didn’t remind me of it so I did none of the two possible moves. Made one more point so happy with that.

        • Good for you DMC :good:
          I did a silly move by bringing Matuidi even seen him on the bench, thinking that he might surprise me as a super sub or something. Waste of 2 points, hey ho smile

    coys9 says:

    Hey guys, we can still change the captain once the lineup is released for the early kickoff right? Tempted to capt Gnarby instead of Lewa but need to make sure he plays. Worth considering Di Maria or Mahrez also?

    So annoyed…no MC game on TV (San Francisco area) or LIV yesterday :rant: . Tough being a footy fan in US sometimes.
