Simples…

Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Semi-Final and Final.

Right then, forget that Scottish nonsense absolutely no nonsense this time as we have little time to waste, this one will be over in the blink of an eyelid. No more dragging GW’s out over weeks and months for the Champions League, this is bish-bash-bosh at its best. Or worst.

If you’ve got this far with it you probably don’t need us to tell you what the craic is with sub and capo changes or how to order your bench. If you still do, then quite frankly… tough sh*t

In short we have two semis and a final, starting on Tuesday and concluding on Sunday.

So let’s crack on with the very little that you do really need to know this week…

Semi-finals

Deadline
TUESDAY 18th AUGUST 8PM GMT

Teamsheets will be out about an hour prior to this. Simples.

Transfers
You get 5 of them. Simples.

The Fixtures – SEMIS
The fixtures are split over two days, as follows:

Subs

We can still make changes between the two. The second deadline is 8pm on Wednesday at kick off, as usual. Simples.

Captain

We can still make changes between the two. The second deadline is 8pm on Wednesday at kick off, as usual. Simples.

How many players from each team?

This increases to 6 per team for the semis. Simples.

The Final

Deadline
SUNDAY 23rd AUGUST 8PM GMT

Teamsheets will be out about an hour prior to this. Simples.

Transfers
You get 5 of them. Simples.

Subs and Capo changes?
Stop asking stupid questions. No subs or capo changes, obviously.

How many players from each team?

This increases to 8 per team for the final. Simples.

The Game Itself and the FF247 League Codes

You can access the game here – Fantasy Champions League

We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 League
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are over 1000 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!

Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now closed to entrants

The Regulars League Table
The Top 10 as we stand…

Should be fairly straight-forward this week but if you have any queries just post them in the comments below and as always ask questions, post teams and generally just have a good natter…

Firkin useless site that CL site. Tried for 45 minutes to bin Sarabia, just wouldn’t let me.

Anyone else really liking this one leg shootout format in the CL and EL? Think it adds more excitement plus teams have to go all out and can’t just sit back and defend knowing they will have a better chance in front of their own fans!

Heard Rio Ferdinand say the other night he’d like to see it kept and for once I actually agree with him. Don’t really know what the logistics would be but the country chosen to hold the final could be chosen to hold the knockout stages and then every week teams just fly out to that nation and back again. This will obviously lead to some teams maybe getting home advantage but not as much.

No chance it stays like this as it doesn’t favour the bigger/stronger teams.

For the TV viewers it definitely leads to aggressive and entertaining football. But it can’t be sustained, fans like to travel and be at home to international opposition. And that’s beside the financial loss.

Note that this comment is made with full respect of the virus situation

Yeah I get the fans travel part but if UEFA set it as a World cup sort of thing where both teams gets a third of tickets each and the other third goes to neutrals. There could still be a decent amount for fans. Money could then be split between clubs and the host stadium.

Most of the money comes from TV revenue anyway I believe.

It crossed my mind to captain Di Maria instead of Neymar but hey ho, whatever happens the armband will always end up on Lewa
