World Championship of Fantasy Football Starts 8th February at Fanteam.com €500,000 prize pool

Are you looking for that one huge Fantasy Football payday? Want to turn your knowledge into 6 figures?

Well, we’ve got just the competition for you.
FanTeam’s WCOFF (World Championship of Fantasy Football) contest offers participants the chance to win big and compete for a massive £420,000 prize pool in a mini-tournament spanning Gameweeks 24 and 25 of the 2021/22 Premier League season (starting February 8 and February 12, respectively).
The game costs £840 to enter directly — but there are cheaper ways to qualify over the next few days.

How to join FanTeam’s World Championship of Fantasy Football tournament:

To sign up, you need to be over 18, Gamble Aware and meet FanTeam’s terms and conditions. Otherwise, just follow these simple steps:

● Head to FanTeam and sign up
● Join the ‘WCOFF €500,000 Final – GW24 & 25’ by clicking ‘Register Now’
● Create a team and click ‘Enter Tournament’

A finish of 121st or higher on the end-of-game leaderboard is worth a minimum of £1,260 (€1,500). For the top 49, that figure is £1,596 (€1,900) at the very least.
FanTeam will pay out £193,200 (€230,000) collectively to the top five players, with rewards ranging from a fifth-placed prize of £12,600 (€15,000) to the massive £84,000 (€100,000) for the eventual champion.
You can enter the FanTeam WCOFF in a couple of ways over the next few days:
Step 2 satellites: (€55) – over the next few days Fanteam are running satellites across many different sports, so pick your strongest suit and get involved!
Enter directly – If you want to avoid the qualifying tournaments you can pay the €1,000 (£840) entry fee.

The rules

Participants start the WCOFF Final with a budget of 105m to build an 11-player squad (at least one goalkeeper, three defenders, two midfielders and one forward).

You can pick a maximum of three players from the same Premier League team and make unlimited changes until Gameweek 24 starts on Tuesday February 8, 2022, at 19:45 GMT. You then have to create another team for Gameweek 25, which starts on Saturday February 12, 2021, at 12:30 GMT — your Gameweek 24 team won’t be carried over, you will need to select a new one altogether. But you do, once again, have unlimited transfers before the deadline.

The scores in both gameweeks are then added together to determine the final leaderboard score and position.

As the tournament lasts just two gameweeks, there will be no late registration or wildcards, but there is the Safety Net.

Due to the lack of substitutes, if a player in your team does not start, he will automatically be replaced if possible. FanTeam’s system will look for the next cheapest replacement player who:

1. Is from the same club
2. Plays in the same position
3. Costs the same price or less

All three conditions need to be met and the system will then pick the replacement with the highest price and put him in place of the original player. If there are no players that meet all three criteria, the user will not receive a replacement player.

How FanTeam’s fantasy Premier League scoring system works:

When it comes to points, FanTeam and FPL run on similar scoring systems. There are more ways for players to earn points in FanTeam, however, creating even more opportunities for users to gain an edge over rivals.

Shots on goal, for instance, are rewarded with +0.4 points for midfielders and forwards, +0.6 for defenders and +1 for goalkeepers. This makes players like Kevin De Bruyne, who has averaged 3.61 shots on goal per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season, and Mohamed Salah (4.04) seem even more valuable — but there’s perhaps also an edge to be found in knowing which defenders make the most efforts on goal (Joao Cancelo has averaged 2.1 shots per 90 in case you were wondering).

Elsewhere, all players earn points for playing up to and over 60 minutes, but forwards and midfielders gain a bonus point for playing a whole game. There are also extras up for grabs if a team “wins” while the player is on the pitch.

As you’d expect, points are also earned for traditional metrics, such as goals scored (scaling down from +8 for a goalkeeper to +4 for forwards), assists, clean sheets and saves. However, FanTeam’s WCOFF does have a ‘stacking penalty’.

So, if you were to pick more than one defensive player (goalkeeper or defender) from the same club, the points awarded for a clean sheet will decrease by one for each additional defensive player, with a max penalty of -3 for a player.

Points are subtracted for own goals, red cards, penalty misses and so on. Your captain scores double points or, if he doesn’t play, your vice-captain receives the multiplier bonus.
