FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 37

FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 37 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 37. We’re finally at the point in the season where it doesn’t make sense for me to list out my top three picks for the coming rounds – with only two rounds left, and a host of DGW teams, that model that I’ve been typing out week after week probably isn’t going to cut it. So I’ve been told by the brass that I’m to write a single paragraph for each DGW team that will be featuring in GW37. I know, right? Just a single paragraph per team? From me? Challenge accepted. As such, we won’t be going over the other half of the league that won’t be featuring twice in the coming round. So I’ll not have to bemoan the effort of Everton, nor the late surge from their bitter rivals. And I also get to not write about Middlesbr...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 37. Spare a thought for DGW37 outcasts Bournemouth, Burnley, Palace, Everton, Hull, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Swansea and West Ham; wandering around the wilderness futilely in search of a second helping, like acne-ridden flotsam cast into the social void, while the other half lives it up in shared accommodation with their fine-dining and beautiful spouses. Those with their single games are not welcome in these parts. This is ‘Wife Swap’ on steroids. In this week’s episode… ALEXIS SANCHEZ – Stoke City (A), Sunderland (H) [three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″] Embed from Getty Images [/three_fifth]Alexis is a lucky boy to still be clinging ont...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 37

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 37. How has gameweek 36 been for you, then? Another green arrow to raise your hopes of an excellent finish at the end of the season, or perhaps a red one that has left you scratching your head at where it all went so wrong? Well, a few of the season’s favourites like Alli, Eriksen, Hazard, Kane, Firmino and Lukaku did indeed draw a blank (OK, more than just a few!), whilst other memorable players of 2016-17 like Defoe, Alonso and Costa rewarded managers. Even De Bruyne – who has been off the radar a good chunk of the season – surprised many by hauling in the points. Of course Josh King had to get in on the action too. Well, it’s officially the middle of this mini double gameweek season now, ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 36 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 36. Oh dear. Little did we think we’d regret selling Negredo so much, but the annoying striker, who single-handedly destroyed our DGW34, trolled us again after we sold him for Gabbiadini. You know the rest, Negredo blanked vs Bournemouth & Sunderland, but scored vs a Stones-less City defence and Gabbia….urgh, can’t even bring myself to type his name. We scored 43pts, below the average of 46 and our rank has fallen to 58,613 from 45,895. We left 24pts on the bench courtesy of Jaku and Siggy, while Nyom, Walker, Zaha and G contributed a point apiece. Thanks to Josh King who made the game-week show some sort of respectability. We’ve held our wildcard this long, but itR...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 36

Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 36 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 36. It is officially silly season. Alvaro Negredo had a double game-week in which he never scored (despite attracting many a Captain Armband), subsequently he is therefore sold off in his thousands and then scores and assists against Manchester City the very next time out. Huh? Christian Benteke, who many others captained on the double game-week, does so well against Liverpool to justify the pick and then blanks at home to Burnley who themselves prior to the weekend couldn’t win an argument away from home, nail a clean sheet and a 2-0 win. Double Huh? Antonio Valencia owners relished the clean sheet he picked up in the Manchester derby but it is sandwiched by two non-appearances due to “resting”. Oh han...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 36

Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 36 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 36. Welcome to the business end of the season lads and lasses – a small DGW gets us under way before the real big one in DGW37! This particular DGW has turned out to be a bit less appealing than most thought it would, as Arsenal and Southampton are both in poor form. Given Southampton’s lackluster performances, I believe there are better options for the armband than from them this week. They seem to be on the beach already and their manager seems fine with it too so forgive me for giving them a wide berth this time. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the other options for this week… Harry Kane (away vs West Ham) [three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″] Embed from Get...[Read More]

Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 36 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 36. And then there were three. Yep folks, we’re nearly there, the race is nearly run and the finishing post is in sight. Good news for some, sad news for others, but whatever your position the three game-weeks need to be played out with potentially huge points on offer given the double game-weeks of this week and next and some appetising fixtures in store for the final day. This week is a mini DGW, let’s call it a small dgw then, for the only teams to play twice are the holiday bound Saints and the shrinking giant that is Arsenal. First up folks, I need to remind you of this week’s early deadline which is this evening at 7pm UK time. This is because we have a nice friendly lo...[Read More]

MLS GW10 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer

MLS GW10 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer Welcome to MLS GW10 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer. Let me vent a bit of frustration here for you. When I sit down to write an article, I like to be as prepared as possible. Now maybe you don’t agree with the points I make, but I always feel better knowing that the picks I suggest have at least have some kind of foundation. And to have the foundation to create a good article, you need time to study and write. And we don’t have a ton of study time with another DGW this round. As for time to write? That’s never an issue for me. Writing for me is the easy part (for having incredibly fat fingers and the hands of a caveman, I type like Forrest Gump runs: “like the wind blows”). Honestly, the owners of this site must think that I write for hours on end...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 36

FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 36 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 36. We’re very nearly there, the finish line is so very close. With just three more gameweeks to go, and a slew of of DGWs thrown in there, this end to the year will be one of the most eventful we’ve seen in some time. And with all of the doubles available, it’s sort of exciting in the sense that there’s still room for some movement in the ranks in these last days of the league. But with the gluttony of DGWs, there is also the option to choose your teams poorly – the end of the season definitely has the feel that there is a right and wrong answer to the problem of building your team, doesn’t it? You’ll notice that I haven’t included Southampton nor Arsenal in my best bets section this week. I’m not putting th...[Read More]

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 35

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 35 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 35. We came home alright this week, with a fairly respectable score of 63. Not spectacular but enough to see us rise slightly in the rankings by about 4k to 45,895. And this was despite Captain Negredo stinking the place out. What on earth were we thinking?! At least we weren’t alone on that one… he had a modicum of form and certainly the fixtures in his favour. The clue was probably in him being the centre forward for the lowest scoring team out of all 92 league clubs though. Stats, damned lies, and statistics? Sometimes they are what they are for a reason. As for the others they had to pull him out of the proverbial, and most did just that we are pleased to say. Jaku, Walker and Vale...[Read More]

Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 35 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 35. It’s non stop isn’t it?! No rest for the wicked they say, but come Tuesday morning we can put our feet up and relive the excitement / stress / heartache of the previous ten days! Until then, we have three more days of footy, another chance to extend your lead, improve your rank or close the gap on your leader. And don’t moan too much, it’s GW35 for goodness sake – you have all summer to rest and you’ll be moaning you have nothing to do. It’s another late deadline this week as GW35 doesn’t have a lunchtime match on Saturday, instead four 3pm matches kick us off – Southampton welcome relegation scramblers Hull, not yet mathematically safe...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 35

Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 35 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 35. Well, woe betide the following unlucky players that I’m recommending in this article, as 3 of my last 5 picks were Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sadio Mane and Seamus Coleman, all of whom have since suffered a fairly nasty season-ending injury. There’s not long left of this one now, in fairness, which means time’s running out for us to catch that irritating mate who sits just above us in our mini-leagues: that process has to start with a great choice of captain! There is (in my meagre opinion) no stand-out option for this weekend, which will ensure a wide variety of captains across the boards, quickly followed by plenty of heartache across the FPL lands. Perhaps we should ask Joey Barton who...[Read More]
