Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2016-17 Welcome to another edition of Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!! Sneaking in a Bore Off is mighty naughty of me, but as you know, nothing good comes to those who wait. So why wait until the next big break, when I can barge in uninvited now. As usual custom I got those three snarky Amigos back together to answer some relevant FPL questions and a bit of… ehe, let us call them “other” questions. Hopefully the lads can provide you with some insight with some of their answers or at the very least have you raise an eyebrow at a moment of awkwardness. Three big strikers, premium defenders, Jonesy, Ozil’s work rate and Santa’s sexy helper all covered. This could be a moment where I could wish you the best over the...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 19 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 19. Welcome to the Captain Picks article for Gameweek 19. Firstly, let me say Merry Christmas to all of you, and I hope you are busy stuffing your bellies full with Christmas food and beer, enjoying the holidays with your families. While food and family are the best things of Christmas time, we all know the second best thing: the busy Premier League schedule, giving us three rounds of festive football in one week. As we all know, a certain Argentinian is coming back from suspension this GW, so let me put one thing straight right away – I will not be tipping Aguero in this article. This is for a number of reasons: he has a tough matchup against Liverpool, City are struggling at the mome...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 18 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 18. Here we are then, on the run up to Christmas and, boy, has it come around quickly. Somehow, I’ve managed to find time to write this article as, in typical tradition, I still have way too many presents to get for so many relatives. All I can say is that a free trial on a certain rainforest-named website has been a lifesaver – if only this website could also write your cards, drive you up the M6 to visit family and answer for you every time you’re asked what your Christmas and New Year plans are. That would make it all a much more relaxing time of year. Like deciding what presents to get, this gameweek presents real dilemmas, albeit on who to give the captain’s armband to, as t...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 18 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 18. Hi everyone and welcome to your Tips article for Game-week 18, which falls on Boxing Day (if like me you lose track of which exact day it is at this time of year). I’d like to start by recapping the FF247 Christmas Party, if I may; It was a beauty which is more than can be said for any of the ‘gentlemen’ who were in attendance. Cookie was asleep amongst the coats, Kop was found in a cupboard, with himself muttering to himself, about his rank and how he was better when he was younger and everything these days is just ‘noise’. Mito was on the phone screaming loudly in to the receiver something about the quality of his latest cut, whilst a crimson and crying Guy Sanchez sheepishly placed do...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 18 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 18. Just so you know, I’m writing this article for the GW18 fixtures prior to the last game from GW17 – the Liverpool Derby. And for that, I am grateful. Right now I’m nervous, but I’m not yet emotional. I can still think about stats and probabilities in a rational manner. Had I waited until after the Everton game, win or lose, I would have been a manic wreck. So you’re getting the ‘best’ of me here, whatever that is worth. It’s been an interesting weekend in FPL, and I’m glad that I just get to break down the fixtures and leave some of the bolder recommendations to others. With Diego Costa getting his last elusive yellow card, Kane blanking, and Arsenal continuing to concede goals…there will be a lot o...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 18 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 18. Despite the protestations of my fellow writer Mito, (yes we allowed him back for another go), there are of course many things to love about Christmas. The food, the togetherness of families, the presents, the time off work, the booze, the birth of Jesus, the annual chance to see all the Die Hard films in a 24-hour period, the carols, the snow – all of the above and lots more make Christmas what it is – but so does one other thing…. Boxing Day football! Game-weeks coming in quick succession and the chance to close or increase a mini-league deficit or lead. Now, first things first, be aware of the deadline for GW18 – 26 December 11.30am. As we said above, Mito makes a...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 17 FPL News: After the excitement (maybe not!) of the midweek fixtures we are back with a long weekend of games beginning on Saturday lunchtime with Chelsea chasing records at Pardew’s Palace. We move swiftly on to four relatively dull looking games at 3pm, if we are being totally honest about it! It reads more like a relegation audition or next seasons typical Championship fixture list than any sort of Premier League bonanza. Ahem, sorry, we’re supposed to build you up into a frenzy of excitement to encourage the conversation about what is to come and what is happening aren’t we?! We’ll actually forgive you if you leave at 2pm and return at 5pm though, just this once! The evening game could ac...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 15 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 15. Good day folks, here we are again, another Friday, another Around the Grounds as the Christmas schedule really starts to kick in now. On that subject, firstly be informed that after GW15, we have another game-week starting on Tuesday as GW16 takes place in midweek. So be prepared for with any luck some of our mini league opponents won’t be!! OK, back to GW15, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. It’s a 2-day game-week and starts at Watford on Saturday lunchtime as Everton come to town. Four 3pm matches follow – Arsenal ‘welcome’ Stoke to the Emirates, Bournemouth travel to Burnley, Hull host Palace and it’s huge at the bottom as Sunderland meet Swansea down in the valleys. The evening mat...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 17 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 17 article. Parachutes at the ready people, we are in free fall! Well ok, it’s not that bad to be fair but we did suffer our second consecutive slump in the rankings landing at 70,792nd with a total score last week of a poorly 43, 5 below the average. So what went wrong and which players do we need to take aside and have a word with and which ones do we need to take outside and dispose of?! Captain Kane against struggling Hull was a no brainer. With two braces in his previous two home games he would surely get at least that and more in this one. He brought home a captains duck of 4, and so set the tone for the rest of our numpties… Our top scorer was Walker with 11, followed by San...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 13 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 13.When your game-week is saved by the likes of Capoue, Anichebe, Fletcher or Nyom then one knows it’s a strange one and that of course is what we saw last week. This week gives us all a chance to bounce back and restore our faith in our squads! It’s a short and sharp game-week, spread over Saturday and Sunday and begins with Man City’s short trip to Burnley. Just four 3pm kick offs follow as Hull welcome West Brom, Boro travel to Leicester, Liverpool take shooting practice at Jordan Pickford and bottom club Swansea host hopefully soon-to-be-bottom club Palace. If last season’s affair is anything to go by then the evening clash at the Bridge of Chelsea and Spurs should be explosive! And then o...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 13 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 13. Hello and welcome to the TIPS article for Game-week 13. Now, we all know that resident Tips guru Mr Kop Warrior hates writing intros but does he like having intros written ABOUT him? This is the week we find out as it simply can’t go unmentioned that his Tips for Game-week 12 were generally quite amazing. I usually refer back to the previous week’s article before I begin to write my own. Now I wish I hadn’t! Analysing it, to begin with Kop gave us Fraser Forster for between the poles who provided a clean sheet in Southampton’s draw with the normally lethal Liverpool. Two of his mid-priced midfielders (Juan Mata and Gylfi Sigurdsson) obliged with goals in their respective matches. Wilfried Zaha picke...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 FPL News: And the silly season begins… Our first game-week on top of another, quickly followed by another. Expect rotation, expect the unexpected. As much as traditional team selections may go out of the window, expected results often do too. Welcome to the beginning of the reason they give us an opportunity to select 15 playing players. We hope you took that particular gift and didn’t squander it as it’s one you may well need, starting this evening, in all probability. Talking of which we begin with two games on Tuesday as Bournemouth face a suddenly rejuvenated Leicester, don’t get too excited though, they won’t get to play against Stones and co every week. Arsenal then face a beleag...[Read More]
