Is Fantasy Football Better Than Traditional Sports Betting? In essence, Fantasy Football is, just like sports betting, all about prediction. Are you putting money on a player to win the season’s top scorer award? Well, in Fantasy Football, you should try and have this guy on your team. However, while traditional sports betting is all about money and ROI, Fantasy Football is more versatile than that. That doesn’t mean, though, that you cannot build a gambling environment around your Fantasy League. Let’s have a look at the key benefits of Fantasy Football and why it’s been growing so quickly in popularity. You Can Be More Creative One of the biggest reasons many people prefer Fantasy Football is that it allows you to be more creative. The activity requires you to compile a team of various f...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 We have a bit of a strange GW on our hands here as there are a lot of games that either look very predictable in their outcome or you simply look at and go… ‘meh’. Leicester and Arsenal set us on our way on Saturday lunchtime and if we tell you that this looks like one of the more enticing games then you’ll know what is to come. If nothing else our old mate Jeff @ Sky will be cock-a-hoop to see no less than 5 games in his slot at 3pm on Saturday. Two games could be close, but ultimately also dire affairs, in Burnley v Brentord and Watford v Saints with the other three looking fairly one sided for Man City (v Palace), Liverpool (v Brighton) and Chelsea (v Newcastle). The main ente...[Read More]
The Underdogs To Bet On That Could Break The Top Six The Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world. There are many challenges for places, particularly at the top four, as they guarantee direct qualification to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. The “big six” teams are widely expected to seek the four available spots. These include Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur. However, owing to the financial strength of the other organisations in the league and their excellent groups, one can anticipate developments. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are finding it difficult to keep up because they are in a transitional stage. The Gunners are getting their legs under Mikel Arteta, but Spurs have already d...[Read More]
FF247 FPL Team GW10 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW10. Salah was a bit of a dissapointment last week. He couldn’t even contribute 50% of our points total, despite pitching in with a 48’er… Which, to cut him some slack, is a roundabout way of saying that the rest did ok too. We ended up on 97 which was 41 above the average and we saw a fairly chunky rank jump of about 180k to leave us at 268,292nd overall. Our new signing Vardy was a disappointment as he limped off early, but elsewhere we saw generous returns, including some goals and the odd assist, from Rudiger (9), TAA (10), ESR (13) and Antonio (7). Our GW9 Result… Let’s go see what was decided ahead of GW10… Our GW10 Transfer(s) You’d be forgiven for thinking we have a panel full of Jose Mourinhos here ...[Read More]
Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 10 Slight change to the format here… A few weeks back now we launched two different versions of this article – one here with a nice ‘grid’ layout and the other on the permanently linked version (see below). With it being a bit of a ‘live experiment’ we weren’t sure what to expect but having done so it seems that the ‘grid’ version in conjunction with a live comments section caused a few loading issues and was generally a bit ‘buggy’. Nothing major but enough to make us have a re-think. As such we have simply switched the two and so now if you want to see the nicely laid out version you can click here. The one below now has the drop-down version. It’s fairly idiot proof thou...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 10 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 10 Pizza Gate Fine margins, marginal gains, close but no cigar – call it what you like, Gameweek 9 showed how much of a cruel mistress FPL can be when one small decision can have large ramifications. Those who captained Salah – and not the likes of Vardy or Raphinha – then saw their points totals go up by a rate of knots into the 80s, 90s and beyond. Those who didn’t, of course, only saw large red arrows – unless they instead went for the likes of Mount or Foden, of course. As always, try not to be too downhearted when such a small decision doesn’t go your way. There are still 29 more game weeks to get those green arrows and we hopefully won’t have the same kind of Covid-re...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 10 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 10. It’s all about… the vice! When I initially asked our writing team for their Captaincy input this week it was about 1pm on Sunday. By 6pm, I was met with a mixture of silence and incredulity. After all, Salah had just done that, to Ole and co. And he has a home game this weekend against Brighton. In all honesty, I could have just left it at that but it felt like a dereliction of duty to not at least address the issue. This will not be a long article. The fact of the matter is that we are possibly about to witness the most captained player ever. If he fails then at least we all fail together, and for once it won’t matter a jot to your rank either way. Which sort of sucks the fu...[Read More]
Who Will Win The Premier League 2021-22 Golden Boot Race? With the likes of Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelo Lukaku, and Mohamed Salah in the Premier League, the Golden Boot race will be exciting this season. Of course, you can’t rule out players like Jamie Vardy, who is the oldest top scorer in EPL’s history. Punters at Data88bet can also expect Son Heung-min, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Patrick Bamford to follow their impressive hauls of last season, putting up a strong fight for the title. Vardy and Salah are on top of the list in the early league standings, with each player scoring seven goals in eight game-weeks. Here are the top 10 EPL players that are likely to put up a strong fight in the race for the 2021/2022 Golden Boot. Mohamed Salah Mohamed Salah is the bookmakers’ favorit...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW10 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW10. Some incredible results in GW9, where to start? Chelsea put 7 past the hapless Canaries, Watford coming back from 2-1 down to win 2-5 at Goodison, City grabbing 4 away to Brighton. Yet all those results pale into insignificance (or at least in years to come they will) compared to what unfolded in the final game of the weekend. Manchester United 0 Liverpool 5. Wowsers. Many predicted a win, but 5-0? So when all is said and done, how did such a momentous weekend of EPL affect the scores over here? Let’s find out! It’s finally happened! After some five seasons of writing and predicting here at H&L I have finally done it; I’ve only gone and won!! As ever it was n...[Read More]
Three Strikers Who Could Be Great Value in Fantasy Football Securing one of the best strikers in the Premier League is not cheap. You have to give up a large chunk of your budget to secure the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, or Mo Salah. Those who go on to have a lot of success in their respective fantasy leagues are those who spot value. Here is a look at three strikers who could fall into that category and perform much better than their price tag suggests. Callum Wilson (Newcastle United) It has been a difficult season for Newcastle United so far. One of their players who has stood out despite the side’s form is Callum Wilson. He has scored four goals from his opening five games in the Premier League. Despite certain players’ strengths, Newcastle are at...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9 Just as Gameweek 8 is escorted politely off the premises, we have a quick five minute tea break and welcome Gameweek 9. It’s coming at us like a train as well and it begins with another (brilliant!) Friday night deadline. We kick off at the Emirates as Arsenal welcome Aston Villa in what will be the Gunners second match within 95 hours. Saturday lunchtime’s offering is Chelsea v Norwich City at SW6 and fear not about captaining Romelu Lukaku as this is not (technically) the early kick off, well it is an early kick off. You get the point. That and the fact that Salah blew that daft theory to pieces in Gameweek 8. Saturday then continues at 3pm with matches at Crystal Palace – who welcome Newcastle, Ev...[Read More]
FPL Team Gameweek 9 Welcome to FPL Team Gameweek 9 I’d start Mickey Mouse over Shaw So is the assessment of one of our members who is the only one of us left who actually owns him himself*! It made us chuckle and so it was to be the article title decided earlier in the week, when things were simple and we had an open-and-closed case of bringing in Lukaku with our free transfer and we were only concerned whether we would captian him or Salah and whether we trusted that Rudiger would feature. Ahhh, simpler times …. *At least of time of print. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Gameweek 8 is to be reviewed. For “Gameweek 8” read “Liverpool” Thanks to captain Salah (26) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (6) we limped to an overall score of 46 which was thr...[Read More]
