FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 28

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 28 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 28 Last week saw a split in our writers picks, a couple went with a DGW’er, a couple with a singleton. And up until Wednesday night it looked as if the lonely hearts club was going to run away with it all, well one of them anyway. That was of course until Southampton got involved and we had to get our Man City abacus out. Fortunately for the Saints, and our Kop / Kane combo, said abacus only needed to count to 5, just as we were once again reaching for the 9-version. 1. Kop – Kane, 38 points. Our early leader held on, which was no surprise really with 2 goals and 2 assists. Kop was the best, as he will surely remind you below! 2. Rosco – KdB, 32 points. A late surge but even 2 games wasn’t enough th...[Read More]

FPL Tips Gameweek 28

FPL Tips Gameweek 28 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 28 It’s been another crazy GW, as Bruno Fernandes showed us on a weekend where he was sold by 300,000 managers, by scoring… again. I’m still a bit baffled why so many people decided to sell the best player in the game but hey some high profile FPL managers did just that! Harry Kane getting a massive 19 points, if only he did that last GW when a lot of us FPL managers triple captained him! Salah and Liverpool blanked again and will they even make the Champions League for next season now? Mane… remember what a great asset he used to be, only has one goal in his last 11 Liverpool games. Is it really time to give up on Liverpool and go without any of their players? Surely they will come good again soon as the players have too much a...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW28

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW28 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW28. Well, that was some game to end gameweek 27 on! City and Southampton offered plenty of goals to bring the curtains down on yet another DGW! Thankfully we should only have one more DGW left but that has not been announced so for the meantime GW28 is a regular week. This will give my head a break from counting and updating a table…. not that I’m complaining. People have been asking about their t-shirts and how they have not arrived yet and we have news! Rosco ‘politely’ (called someone a c*nt :rofl asked what the story was with our postman. Well our postman has finally sent out a batch of t-shirts so I want to see lots of pictures of all your ugly mugs as soon...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 Well, after that super sized gameweek 26 that just passed we get an almost regular sized one in GW27. It is still a double, just not anywhere near the size of the one we just got through with. This one kicks off with a lunch time meeting between Burnley and Arsenal. That is followed by three more fixtures featuring a little of everything from everywhere in the PL standings. Sheffield host the DGW darlings Saints, Villa welcome in Wolves and Leicester travel to Brighton in the late game. Sunday brings us four more games including a match up only the immediate family of the players will watch when West Brom host Toon. Also on Sunday Liverpool play Fulham, that is followed by the Manchester De...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW27

FF247 FPL Team GW27 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW27 ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY! Well ok, not quite. But that was about the target. It has to be when you go in with 14 DGW’ers, which is effectively 29 players. Or two and a half normal teams. But perhaps these modern DGW’s lull us into a false sense of security. A few years back you could pick said 29 and be relatively assured that you’d get about 27 or 28 of them on the actual pitch. Not so much these days! As it was we came away with 113, minus the odd hit. And by ‘odd’ we mean a -4, not a -32. Someone best go check on Cookie… As for the players themselves a few did exactly as expected (see Martinez, Digne, Son and Kane, even Lowton for that matter). A few got rotated as expected (see Gundo and Cancelo). A few disappointed (see Bruno and ...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 27

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 27 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 27. Oh Captain! My Captain! What is a captain? Collins English dictionary note that in sporting terms “the captain of a sports team is the player in charge of it”. There’s no flies on these lads! Not happy with Collins, I turned my attention to the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. They state; “The position of captain is given to those athletes whom the rest of the team respect and trust to lead them in the right direction”. They go on to claim that, “a captain must be accountable after a bad performance or practice. Captains are expected to perform in the clutch and lead the team to victory”. It is their opinion that a good captain should embody the 3 C’s – Caring, Courageous & Consistent. With all this newfo...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 The big one is here. And as DGW’s go this one is rather large with no less than 17 games spanning 6 days, starting on Saturday and finishing up at about 10pm on Thursday. That’s about 1,530 minutes worth of football, or 25.5 hours, and every last drop of it is televised. A small word of caution here, other than the obvious which is to have a good divorce lawyer to hand, after we finish on Thursday you get just the one day off as GW27 begins on Saturday again with an 11am deadline. We won’t script out all 17 games here, the picture below tells a thousand words, other than to say that there are 4 games on Saturday, 5 on Sunday, 1 each on Monday and Tuesday and 3 each on Wednesday and Thursday...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW’s 26 & 27

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW’s26 & 27 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW’26 & 27. When I was a lad football used to be mostly played on a Saturday afternoon. Then the Premier League came along and Sunday afternoon football became the norm. Before long they sneaked in Monday night football and whilst we all looked the other way, Friday night matches became a thing. Madness. Then along came Covid who did whatever the Pandemic equivalent of ‘Hold my beer’ is. Now its football every bloody day. Well once again it’s a Double Game Week, followed by yup, you guessed it, another Double Game Week. You know the drill; fixtures at the bottom, its a doubler, post all as one or comment on your original post for the subsequent game wee...[Read More]

How Fantasy Football Can Help in Sports Betting

How Fantasy Football Can Help in Sports Betting Many people see sports betting as part of their leisure time. It’s no surprise that some come from the fantasy football world. Telecomasia.net explains how the game can help with betting. From fantasy football to betting Previously, the large portals FanDuel and DraftKings offered their users to participate in fantasy football tournaments for money, and now they have become classic bookmakers since betting was legalized. At the same time, part of the audience of the sites remained their clients and retrained as bettors. The point is that fantasy football and sports betting have a lot in common. To do both, you need a love of sports, the ability to analyze data and make predictions. Also, there is a competitive element in these areas (in betti...[Read More]

Premier League: Manchester United and Crystal Palace, a Disappointing Match

Premier League: Manchester United and Crystal Palace, a Disappointing Match In Matchday 29 of the Premier League, Manchester United faced Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, United conceded a second consecutive scoreless draw at Crystal Palace (0-0), three days after the one against Chelsea (0-0). A game of great sadness, all the same punctuated by a few loud voices and insults between teammates! The Red Devils Did Not Widen the Gap On Leicester The Red Devils, second in the standings, did not widen the gap on Leicester, third. Rarely this season has Manchester United been so disappointing. This Wednesday night, the Red Devils failed to win at Crystal Palace, and as often, when Bruno Fernandes is tired, it’s all MU who seems without idea. Manchester United could hardly find a dangerou...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW26

FF247 FPL Team GW26 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW26 A Wildcard Waltz and a Bench Boost Beckoning Anyway, part one of the plan worked! We wildcarded last week and scored 82 points – a very respectable 32 points above the weekly average and a climb to 616,720 overall. The reason we wildcarded was so that we were in a position to absolutely hammer the upcoming DGW26 with as many players with two games as possible. We go with 14 of the 15 which we’re delighted with but more on that later. The Premier League confirmed the DGW26 fixtures ONE MINUTE PAST THE GW25 deadline (yeah great, thanks etc / insert own expletive) – effectively meaning that you couldn’t technically guarantee a Wildcard/Bench Boost combo across these two weeks would work. Yeah we took a bit of a risk but ‘fortune favours’ and ...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 26

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 26 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 26 Last week we had a bit of a DGW taster, the hors d’oeuvres to this week’s full on banquet, if you will. A dress rehersal. A practice run. You get the picture. Only it was also for real, just that the choices were much more limited, and perhaps less extravagant in their offering. As it went, three quarters of our panel went for a doubler, one without. Could it prove to be a lesson, or at least a pointer to the importance of filling up on DGW players this week? Let’s go see how they fared… = 1. Swirly – Bruno, 24 points. Our only SGW captainer claimed joint top spot with 24 points, we have put him top of the pile as he did it in one whole game less. The reality is that he was overall more pro...[Read More]
