Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 7 Last week was billed as a straight two way battle between Ronaldo and Salah and we offered up a couple of alternatives just to liven the party up. As it transpired neither of them took top spot. In fact one one of them stunk the place up so much he even finished behind… Conor Gallagher! Last week’s result; 1. Mito – Antonio, 16 points. Antonio pipped Salah despite both grabbing a goal but the bonus point Gods pointed the way of the West Ham man. 2. Kralin – Salah, 14 points. He may have the won battle but he didn’t win the war. 3. Cookie – Gallagher, 8 points. Perhaps just proving that even the most left-field of picks can outscore anyone on their day. 4. Rosco...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek GW7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek GW7 On the face of it this may seem like a bit of an odd week to roll out a fixtures article as we are about to have a break for the internationals but GW7 always felt like a bit of a turning point as quite a few teams see a change in their fixture fortune from this point in time. How much stock you put in the fixtures themselves is up to you, as we all know an in-form player can sometimes make a mockery of them. Sometimes… More often than not though it pays to be informed so that you can target the next big thing. Or quite simply bring in the obvious thing (player) at the correct time. Our usual format here is to examine the good vs the bad, except that when we sat down and attempted to split the te...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW7 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW7. The scores last week are the type I can work with. Lots of 0’s, 1’s and 2’s. Only Liverpool, Arsenal and Brentford managed a number higher; both Brentford and Liverpool grabbed 3 a-piece in an unexpected 3-3 draw and the Arsenal were anything but boring as they stuck the same number past Nuno’s hapless Spurs. Elsewhere it was a good week for the more prudent predictors unless you’re looking in particular at the result over at Old Trafford. Ouch. This week, MDB was the big party pooper. 16 pts was enough to hand him the winners gong, snatching victory away from yours truly (Rosco). There was me, 14 pts, getting all excited for a lovely new t-shirt. It was not to be. Third place was Sa...[Read More]
FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 6 FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 6 Five gameweeks in already, how time flies when you’re having fun! Gameweek 6 begins on Saturday this week, thank the good lord! (Pardew?). The normality ends there though as we have two 12.30 kick offs. Chelsea look to continue their solid form as they welcome Man City while Villa take the trip up the M6 to Old Trafford. Why are United at 12.30pm but not on TV? Because The Courteeners are playing at Old Trafford Cricket Ground that night! These rock bands think they can Take Over The World! Four 3pm matches follow as Everton hope the visit of Norwich may inject some momentum into their campaign, Antonio looks to single handedly destroy the Leeds defence, Leicester host Burnley and Newcastle take the long trip down to Watfo...[Read More]
FPL Team News and Predicted Line-ups Gameweek 6 If you can’t do something properly… get someone else to do it! We are back as ever with our predicted line-ups in conjunction with / courtesy of Drafthound. The usual warnings apply here: please take this as their / our best guess as to the line-ups, but it will never ever be 100% accurate, such is the nature of attempting to do so. Two things to bear in mind; We trust Drafthound. They will have done their research into all this, especially given what they do, just as we used to, but these things are a ‘best guess’ exercise at best. Usual leeway should be accounted for, etc. Given their time and effort in providing this content for us it would be rude not to occasionally click on the Drafthound link and check out their...[Read More]
FPL Team Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Team Gameweek 6 Sticky plaster Well Gameweek 5 is in the books and the lads at FF247 have secured yet another green arrow (easy this lark) as we score 19 points above the average score and a weekly total of 74 points, which we are obviously delighted with. We have a few mentions here but it goes without saying that first up is Captain Fantastic Salah with 24 points. Lit! Said Benrahma (10), Raphinha (8), Ben White (7), Ronaldo (6) and Patrick Bamford (5) all pulled their weight to varying degrees. Our next best scorer was The Greek Scouser Tsimikas who climbed off the bench – ONE OF THREE AUTOSUBS – to provide us 5 points. Legend in the making him. The rest were just 2s and 3s but the three autosubs thing, whilst unusual and humourous, is prob...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 6 We are now only one gameweek away from the seemingly quite popular and much spoken of wildcard time. Chelsea are obviously going to be very much in demand soon so it won’t be much of a surprise seeing them feature in many articles across the next couple of months. So if you are in the mood for a wildcard next week, what better way to approach it than by reading on and taking a shot at one of the following players as your devil-may-care transfer for this week? Even if you are not, there are still some brilliant Tips here for your perusal. Goalkeepers In case you’re on the hunt for a goalkeeper at the moment due to injury, suspension, a free transfer burning a hole in your pocket, or you just happen to be on y...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW6 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW6. De La Soul were right all along, three was the magic number for Liverpool, Watford, Villa and Chelsea last week with only Norwich managing to upset the applecart with a consolation goal. Away wins for Brentford, Arsenal, Watford, Manchester United and Chelsea proved that home form is not always guaranteed and just two draws, perfectly illustrating why a couple draws on your betting slip always pumps up those winning odds. I did rubbish again this week, others did not! It’s two on the bounce as last weeks winner Sam10 once again took the top spot with an excellent 16pts. Once is good, twice in a row is very good! Second place was my own private FPL confidante and site supremo Sm...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 6 What is it they say, ‘first up, best dressed’? Swirly was on the ball early last week and picked Salah for his captaincy piece. Leaving Kop to pick Ronaldo (his best boy) and Smash Lukaku (his hero) and your author (GP) went with …… Smash. So without reading on you can guess who was the ‘worst’ of the week. In fairness, I really fancied Lukaku this week and with 3 Chelsea goals and zero involvement from their main striker, that’s rather unlucky for me Smash. TRUST THE PROCESS NOT THE RESULT, TRUST THE PROCESS NOT THE RESULT! Yeah Salah did the business so very well done to Swirly – the Egyptian King posting 12 points (24 as captain) in his third dou...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5 Hello everyone and welcome to the gameweek AND the second FNF (Friday Night Football) of the season! Shortly we begin with Newcastle United v Leeds United which our very own Rosco will be attending assuming he is still allowed onto the Gallowgate following his questionable behaviour surrounding CR7 and his ‘beloved’ Toon last Saturday. Kidding, that man is a pro and he had his FPL business head on and let’s face it, until Newcastle are taken over we’re all allowed to be fed up by the Geordies! Saturday starts with Wolves v Brentford at lunchtime which will hopefully be a good watch as warm up to four 3pm kick offs with Burnley *cough* welcoming Arteta’s Arsenal to Turf Moor, ...[Read More]
FPL Team Gameweek 5 Welcome to the FF247 FPL Site Team for Gameweek 5 Another week/Another Green Arrow Easy this game – OK so we are only spitting difference away from the weekly average but those +9 points have brought us up to 392,480 and only two points away from the 300-point mark for the season. We captained Ronaldo at home to Newcastle and stole a march on the two people in total who didnt and he landed us 26 points. Those 26 nestle neatly between the 34 points Salah grabbed us at Norwich and the 22 haul Antonio secured at home to Palace. Three captain successes in the opening four is very very welcome. Salah got us 8 points thanks to his goal at Leeds and the rest was a case for the defence. TAA (12), White and Shaw (both 5). The rest a collections of 1s, 2s and 3s. Oh and a -...[Read More]
FPL Team News and Predicted Line-ups Gameweek 5 If you can’t do something properly don’t bother doing it at all… The above title is a bit of a motto of FF247. And it sort of explains why we used to do this article but then suddenly stopped. The truth of the matter is that it simply became too much work for the team. Following every word of every press conference and then analysing that info and translating it into a line-up… twenty times, was quite frankly a bit too time consuming. The knock on effect was that it also pulled some key personnel away from the site on a Thursday and Friday. So we got into a situation whereby we had RMT’s stacking up and nobody to answer them! Would you rather the likes of Smash, GP and Init be stuck behind a computer waiting to r...[Read More]
