Fantasy Football 247 at the Football Blog Awards

fbaFantasy Football 247 is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Best FPL Football Blog award (FBA). The finals take place on November 13th at the National Football Museum in Manchester. This is an immense achievement for us, bearing in mind we only went live in November of 2013 and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the team at FF247 for all their hard work, given freely and in their own time, for making the site what it is today.

[clear]

tweetvoteWe would also like to thank all our members for being such a huge part of the site – without you we are nothing and the site is irrelevant. We have always aimed to make FF247 a community site, a fun site as well, of course, and a useful tool for FPL managers. It is your involvement, comments, banter and engagement that ultimately has pushed FF247 into the realms of being nominated for awards such as this.

So we thank you deeply and look forward to a bigger, better, funnier future together!
Finally, we would like to ask that you vote for us in the hope that little old FF247 may just upset some of the more established names that we are up against. Clearly our age will not make it easy for us to win against other sites that have been around for years, but you know us, we’ll give it a go. Every vote counts.

Voting is very straightforward – all you need to is click on the link below, either taking you to the FBA site or through the twitter button.
In case you’re thinking, “I’ve already voted”, then firstly thanks, it’s your votes that have been responsible for us being nominated. But from now, the votes have been reset to zero and we start again.

If you’re on twitter, then this is the most simple method.

Voting via the FBA site link involves about about two minutes more of your time! Just click this link (or the red ‘tweet your vote’ button above), enter your details and under “categories”, click the FPL drop down menu and you will see Fantasy Football 247 appear. Simply highlight us and click “Vote Now” – you will be sent an email which you will need to confirm your vote.

The FF247 team will be attending the event itself and we will be sure to post pics on here and via twitter of what will surely be a fantastic night out regardless of the results! Tickets are on general sale as well so if anyone fancies it please feel free to come but be sure to let us know so that so we can include you in our party!

Thanks again for your time, patience and support!

All at Fantasy Football 247.

Anyone considering dropping Fabregas? Think he told the media he wasn’t going to score/assist as much the next games…??????? On the other hand, on MOTD I heard him say he has a perfect relationship with Hazard and Oscar. Plus, Matic is the deepest midfield player. What you guys reckon? Hmmm also keep in mind he is still the set piece taker right? Last game I saw Oscar take a free kick though. >.<

Who’s the better pick for next gameweek, Wisdom with a home game against Palace or Hutton with an away game against QPR? Palace has scored 11 and conceded 14 while QPR has scored 6 and conceded 18. Still though, it’s a home vs away dilemma.

This is why I got rid of Costa 3 weeks ago. Never know if he will be playing. Then Rooney get suspended and back in team comes Costa. One more week and I can get Rooney back

Just tweeted my vote– good luck to you all!

Gonna re-post from last night: I’m pondering potential transfers. Things are going very well but there are things I’d like to fix…

    1) Sterling game time is the Concern of the Week, as is losing Costa. I am going to resist both of these right now, though I wonder whether getting Boyd in for Quinn (who’s lost his place?) is worthwhile, so I have a playing attacking sub. That said, this feels like a wasted transfer…
    2) I really need to fix up the defence. Swansea, Stoke and Sunderland fixtures get pretty nasty in 2/3 weeks time and I might be looking to clear out Taylor, Wilson and O’Shea. Coloccini isn’t a brilliant option but I fancy Newcastle a bit more in the coming weeks. I am looking at Chambers, Hutton, and perhaps Moore of Leicester. Thoughts?
    3) Downing has a tough next fixture but thereafter he looks ok for a few weeks. Sigurdsson however hits a run of tough fixtures soon. Pondering Barkley, and I’m glad to have another week to monitor his return.
    4) Anything else obvious? Thanks in advance anyone!

Pippin, instead of moore for your defense how about wisdom? I’m thinking to bring him in this week as his next 3 fixtures look appealing, after which he can be benched again.
Southampton have some decent fixtures up until GW13 so maybe look at Alderwierld if you can afford him instead of Colo or Taylor.
I’d wait and see how Barkley does in the next game before swapping him for Siggy.
Swansea didn’t play very well yesterday at Stoke but at home to Leicester i expect them to get back to winning ways.

      • Pippin says:

photek- thanks pal. I agree on waiting re Ross, and yes Gylfi deserves a crack at Leicester. Wisdom is a good call, I like your thinking! Alderweireld is a good option, but I’m hesitant to double up on Saints at the back– worth pondering though, thanks!

      NIN says:

Howdy Pip. Nice work in reaching the top 1k  I agree with photek re Wisdom. WBA have 3 decent fixtures ahead. I’d probably leave it at that as the rest of your team is looking really good for this weekend, providing Costa is fit of course.

      • Pippin says:

Cheers NIN- I’m delighted with my scoring. Thanks as ever for your sound advice. Wisdom in for one of my current defenders is a good call. If Costa isn’t fit I may take a 4pt hit Friday to get in someone who I think is very likely to score, or else just take the 2pts from someone off the bench. Will see how reports of his “recovery” go!

    Hey guys, really need some help with my team having a poor season so far some advice would be appreciated;
    Heaton (Mannone)
Clyne Chambers Taylor (Hutton & Duff)
    Fab ADM Siggy Sterling (Cattermole)
    Costa Pelle Aguero
I know Costa is injured but not willing to drop him yet.
0.8 in the bank and one free transfer.
I’m willing to take a hit and any suggestions for a 3-4week strategy will be welcomed,
    Thanks.

      photek says:

FT you’re front 7 are very strong aslong as Costa is fit for the next game.
Clyne and Taylor both have decent fixtures in the next gw, maybe look at replacing Taylor as Swansea’s fixtures look harder in the following 2. Chambers fixtures look ok.
maybe look at using your money on improving Heaton. You could double up on Southampton and get Forster

      • full time says:

        Thanks very much Phokek.
Would you replace Heaton instead of Mannone?
I would like to replace Taylor but if I upgrade a keeper to a 5m it only leaves me 4.7m to play with.

        • photek says:

maybe mannone after that horror show he’s bound to be dropped and they only have palace and leicester (both away) in the next 7 that might bring points.
they have ARS, EVE, MANC, CHE and liv in the other games…tough run.

can anyone explain what this fantasy football fix is? if you upload your team to their site, does it automatically make the changes or does it then recommend what you should do????

      NIN says:

Gerrardslipped – I think that will be a useful tool for a bit of guidance maybe, but they’ll need to get it sorted out first as it’s a touch bonkers (i’d rather make my own decisions anyway, with help from people on here of course). To be honest, their price change is the main reason i’m using the site as it’s a lot more accurate than anywhere else. Over time i fancy it to become a really good/cool site but for now, stick to the price change smile
