Fantasy Football (has been suspended!) Update

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (perhaps advisable right now) you will be aware that the Premier League have suspended all fixtures until (at least) April 4th. In essence this means that we will miss GW’s 30 & 31 and resume in GW32. Whether the 32 target actually happens is a different matter but for now that is what we are being told to work towards. We just wanted to make you aware of a few key things…

FPL have released the following on Twitter;

    To pick the bones out of that, essentially what it all means is;

  • GW’s 30 & 31 will still happen, albeit in a ghost fashion.
  • You’ll get zero points awarded (unless you somehow still take a hit!).
  • Any moves you make (be that transfers, hits, chips) will still count and be there whenever (if) we resume.
  • They’ve waffled on about the FPL Cup and how it all affects H2H leagues but who really cares!

We appreciate that the above is short ‘n sweet but that is all you need to know in a nutshell. We shall update this accordingly as and when we know more.

Please feel free to continue to chat amongst yourselves as usual and add any relevant info in the comments if you see / hear anything pertinent to the above.

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football (has been suspended!) Update.

So all of the leagues below National North / South are declared void. How soon before it moves up the scale?

How you all doing. Hope all are fine and safe l.
India has been locked down since past 4 days. People have started getting used to it now. But, it’s very difficult for some people to understand the very basic meaning of “social distancing”. Still partying outside and making a mockery of law. Difference of common senses, I believe. Anyways, it’s still 17 more days to go. That’s the best for a country such as India. If it spreads here, there won’t be any stopping.

      Hi there Constantine.
Yes you’re right, the lockdown is being followed to various degrees here. This is despite the fact of confirmed reports of community spread.
Although there’s no such lockdown for me since hospitals are still functioning.
All I’m hoping for is that we flatten the curve.

Couple or three overlaps with the one from earlier in the week but here’s another if anyone wants to have a stab…

    Morning all

I’ve been very kind and left you some of the above quiz to do. And I’m definitely not bored 😯

Morning folks! These weekends without football, eh? I was wondering, in Aussie slang, whether the word “frond” has a meaning that I’m not familiar with… All I know is, via my good old friend Mrs Google, that it’s some sort of botanical word referring to leaves, of some kind I suppose… But an Australian rock band can’t surely be singing about botanics in their awesome song called simply “Frond”…. I’m flabbergasted, hopefully someone here can educate me on the matter! smile

haha don’t know about the band but the little hairs at the end of a fennel, for example, are called fronds. does it help??

      • Zed Leppelin says:

So there’s no secret cool meaning for that then? What a bummer :laugh2: The band is Pond and they hail from Perth, maybe Perth slang then?

Here are the lyrics of the song:

        Going green and following blue
The dash lit up as if I queued
With sounds of mermaids in hurrah
Packing my head with every song
I heard a voice call out a name
Could’ve been mine or a man insane
The fog that cleared and broke the hue
Fearing what they came here to do
        Liquid lie
        From the sun
        Frond

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Why would you say “frond” at the end there, maybe they are just insane smile

        • VanDan says:

Well it is a rather pleasant sounding word, and I have never heard it in the singular so that is unusual. Liquid lie.. I suppose you need to find out about that as well, your Sat is set!

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Enjoying outdoors, first day in 6 months the temperature of above 10 degrees Celsius in Finland today… It’s a good thing that Finland is such a sparsely populated land, ease to find peaceful places with no one in sight

In the UK we’re now being hassled by police drones*, to add to all the fun / general sense of unreality.

I was half-expecting to see myself (viewed from afar) being shown mowing my lawn with the words ‘not essential’ shaming me into submission.

          * I can see their myriad uses, however, in helping to prevent the spread of the pestilence. Shame they can’t put barbecues out.
