Fantasy Football (has been suspended!) Update

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (perhaps advisable right now) you will be aware that the Premier League have suspended all fixtures until (at least) April 4th. In essence this means that we will miss GW’s 30 & 31 and resume in GW32. Whether the 32 target actually happens is a different matter but for now that is what we are being told to work towards. We just wanted to make you aware of a few key things…

FPL have released the following on Twitter;

    To pick the bones out of that, essentially what it all means is;

  • GW’s 30 & 31 will still happen, albeit in a ghost fashion.
  • You’ll get zero points awarded (unless you somehow still take a hit!).
  • Any moves you make (be that transfers, hits, chips) will still count and be there whenever (if) we resume.
  • They’ve waffled on about the FPL Cup and how it all affects H2H leagues but who really cares!

We appreciate that the above is short ‘n sweet but that is all you need to know in a nutshell. We shall update this accordingly as and when we know more.

Please feel free to continue to chat amongst yourselves as usual and add any relevant info in the comments if you see / hear anything pertinent to the above.

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football (has been suspended!) Update.

    Just watched a topical film from 1995 called “Outbreak” with a few big stars of the era being the main players. Got to pass the time somehow!!
    Are we still likely to get 1 FT per week ? If so that’s 6 weeks I think,and plenty of time to get a team together without a WC. I still have WC,FH & BB available,but when will be best to use them as it looks like it will be doubles every week,but surely not trebles.

    Biggest question for the community – how are you stopping your hands from getting too chapped from all this washing?

    For me it’s Balmonds’ Skin Salvation. It’s miraculous.

    Hello everyone – have been reading the Guardian (Endlessly since lockdown began, alternating with work krap and NRL Fantasy game). Check out this article about 1947, when the league was suspended around this time of year (apparently it was because of extreme climatic reasons and to stop mid-week sport in order to get more people to work! Perhaps the exact facts need verifying!).

    Hope you are all keeping out of harm. Haven’t actually been outside (except to chop wood and mow the lawn) since Monday. Venturing out later, signed authorisation and ID in hand, to get shopping from our local supermarket ‘Drive’ (or do you say ‘Drive-In’ or ‘Drive-by’???). I’ll give you a (relatively dull) report on it later – dunno if it’s the same mood as in the capital, where apparently things are much more dire.
    Bye for now & keep smiling smile !!!!

      I’ll take a look at this article after I get the kids into school this morning.

      Let us know how the ‘supermarket-trip-in-lockdown’ goes please. It will no doubt come our way soon.

      Keep well mate.

        Well as I said, it won’t be your average trip, cos we order by internet and pick it up from the Drive section of our local supermarket. Apparently people are buying up quantities of pasta and rice and tinned tomatoes. Come on guys, vary your diets!!!!
        The local growers market stallholders are offering an ‘order and pick up’ service (which is very proactive I feel) either from their farms or the local produce market on Saturday mornings. It’s grown locally, much fresher than supermarket produce and quite often competitively priced. Heaven really! I often see local restaurant chefs buying from the same producers as I do. So that’s really positive. Ah – you’ll think me a bleeding hippie now GP! Just an average bloke living in the French outback trying to be a locavore (Where are all ze kangarous, Monsieur L’Aussie????). See you round mate! The weans will soon be at home on a semi permanent basis, so take advantage of the relative calm for the moment! smile

          Sounds good, AJW, the way to go!
          I’ve heard the first couple of days were crazy in the supermarkets in France, but I assume it must become a bit easier now.
          But the order and pick up service from local producers, that’s great!

          Finland closed schools since Wednesday, it’s been hectic few days with the “weans” at the house, have to be a remote work expert and a school teacher at the same time…. If this goes on for weeks, months…. Oh dear, and now I’ve started gardening, tomatoes and chilies, a true locavore in a sense, although I’m such a bad gardener that half of my vegetables die and it’s not even closely enough for the family… Glad the supermarkets are still open, then… smile

        • Great to hear form you all boys.

      The government is about to make an announcement shortly.
      All pubs, restaurants, clubs, gyms and others to be shut down :telephone:

    What change to do? 2 FT and 0.2m ITB.
    McCarthy (did nothing other than the PK save last played GW), Button
    Salah, KDB, Fernandes, Mooy – don’t know why I got him, Saka – DGW plan wasted
    Auba – too costly to hold, Ings, Jimenez

    I have to upgrade Saka and for that need to downgrade Auba possibly. Auba to Vardy / DCL is an option – which one? I can then get Barnes for Saka next. Any advice?
