Bundesliga Fantasy Football 2020/21

GW16 DEADLINE FRIDAY 15th January 19:30PM

With the Bundesliga seemingly taking over the bulk of the chat on site a couple months ago when it was the only fantasy game in town, we decided that we should give it a home for the season, after a bit of coaxing. 😉

We won’t be posting a weekly article, but we will update the screenshots and the links within this article so you are getting relevant info for each gameweek as it comes along. We did come up with a set piece table and a pair of trackers to help you out as you build your teams.

Where to join > Fantasy Bundesliga Site the site is still not open for the upcoming season, but you can register now if you wish. We suspect that it will open up in the next few days.

Surely this one is self explanatory. We will do our best to update it as we go along.

Bundesliga Fixture Tracker

Bundesliga Tracker we don’t know what to call

This screenshot could be a bit confusing at first. If you have played fantasy Bundesliga though then you will know about the importance of knowing when your players kickoff times actually are.

“As a manager you can substitute players at any time. If you remove a player that has already played during a matchday you will lose his points and you will not be able to put him back on the field during that match day. However, you can change your star players with players from your line-up as long as their club is yet to play.”

Basically you can manually sub players out if you do not like their score. You can also change captains (there are 3 – a Defender, a Midfielder and a Forward per GW) which really makes who you place on your bench and what transfers you make very important. This game is not just about buying the best players is about having the right guys lined up to replace them in case they have a bad game.

The tracker above tells you when certain teams play compared to others. Ideally you will have your players a bit spread out over the GW for the reasons mentioned above. When looking at it, any team with a 1 next to it plays first which during the GW and in most cases that is ideal. As you get to captain/play players that you can sub out easily if they don’t perform. Any teams with a 4 next to them is not ideal (part of it depends on the fixture difficulty) in terms of their slot, as they play last that GW. If they fail, you will be stuck with whatever score they give you.

Quick recap:

1 = Ideal, the team plays first with plenty of time to sub if the player doesn’t score well, plus the possibility of getting it right on the captaincy in the first game.

2 = Good, gives you subs or captains that are separate from most of your 15 man team and still have other fixtures after it in case the players in this fixture don’t perform.

* = Average, this is where most of your players will land on a weekly basis. You always want the best players, but if they all play at the same time it does limit your chances a bit to make subs and get the captaincy right.

4 = Not ideal, Simply said, if your player doesn’t perform here there is no more chances to sub. Any team with a 4 beside it plays last.

Remember to always look at this particular tracker in conjunction with the regular tracker. In most cases you would not transfer out a Lewandowski just because he plays last. Last season when I looked at stuff like this it was more for the mid level, punty types. As most of us will own a Lewy and Sancho (if he stays) in FBL, so how you score when compared to others many times comes down to how those value picks or slight differentials perform. If you are able to buy those players with better time slots on top of decent fixtures, well one would think you will have given your team a better chance of scoring well.

Mito’s Real Madrid is daddy jumps to third in the overall, scoring a very respectable 81 points in a very tough week for most.

Biggie drops to 7th after an appalling 45 points. The team doesn’t look bad just a bunch of underperformers. By the way Biggie and all who play this game ***If you have a negative score, you can remove them from your team and finish with less than XI even if it is a captain*** just go in and look at my team at the end of GW2 you will see I removed Lewandowski’s negative points and just finished out with 10.

GM with a very good week. Shot up the standings with the help of an 82. Now sitting in 11th. Great call on selling Kostic and buying Castro, that worked out great for you. Plus you took advantage of the rules and removed the negative points and finished with 10.

Ivan sits in 13th now. Had a decent week with 61 points. Keeper was great for him with a big 15 point haul. Kimmich did ok with 10 plus 5 more from captaincy. The only real mistakes made was leaving Pavard and Lewy in your XI. Get rid of those negative points. Those 3 points cost you a spot in the top 10.

GP sits in 20th now. Brought home 58 points this past GW. But another one who left the negative points in his side costing himself 4 points by leaving Lewy and Pavard in his XI. Good call on the double Stuttgart.

Chipster sits in 22nd. Had a bad GW, not terrible per say, but not great. Considering all the Bayern and Dortmund player you own, I think scoring 52 this past GW was a pleasant surprise as that could have been a lot worse. Again the negative points can be removed. Chip will be hoping today’s Super Cup between Bayern and Dortmund doesn’t turn into an injury fest.

Otieno sits in 34th and has threatened to leave the game, stay with it mate, it will help in those FPL gameweeks where nothing goes right, hopefully your FBL team can bring a smile to your face on those said weeks. To be fair if I had 3 Bayern captains combine for 4 points I be on the verge of quitting also. :mosking: It’s all in fun just stick with it.

Wolfhounds (Mosc) sits in 34th. 57 for this week is not the worst all things considered. Another player who suffered with a predominantly Bayern and Dortmund side. There will certainly be better weeks.

Elle now sits in 39th but really sits dead last as far as we are concerned. Get your finger out! Scored 44 this week  which if we combined with his 35 from fpl that still be 3 points less than GM scored in FBL. :hippo:

    Thx for the updates
Not a great week gwk2 With surprise defeats to BM & Dort
Sané looks like he’s out for a few weeks so he’ll be going this week,
Who would be best replacement for him, is Goreczka worth a punt?
Otherwise may spread the cash upgrading some defenders.

    • 52.1

I have to do the same with Sane and also have Kostic to move. If it was only one of those like in your case, I think I go for a cheaper mid and look to upgrade elsewhere. You already have Kimmich which is the most obvious move, but since he is in your team I think I look to add upgrades in several places. Goretzka is good and he will he get you points, but he is more of a guy you get for his floor than his upside. Consistent 7-8 points which I find a touch expensive for 14 million. With Kostic out, I be looking Kamada’s (good value) way if I were you, he already had a good share of the set pieces and it could get even bigger now. RBL has good fixtures and Olmo should be in the points. Divadi and Grifo are two options that could well be worth it in particular because they also have a share of set pieces. I just don’t love either’s fixture this GW, but both may still do well. If really looking cheap, I think Wirtz might be a decent option now, had avoided him for his two opening fixtures but now the good ones come in and I think he might start being a real nice value in the game.

      • Bigpopz says:

        Mito

        Cheers mate
May go for Olmo as Sané replacement, he had a good end to last season and looks set to have another this.
I’ll use any spare cash to tweak elsewhere.
I Got Wooyeong, will he hold his place at Freiburg, for 1m he’s a cheap bench option.
Also thinking of getting Iago in defence, any good?

        • Jeong is unlikely to hold his place in the starting XI if that is what you are asking. He could continue to get minutes here and there and an occasional spot start, but I don’t see him being part of Freiburg’s XI.

Iago is good for his price he is a value pick. I think there is a cap to his ceiling, I would not expect him to be getting you a ton, but he will hit you with the occasional 8-10 pointer. Augsburg has a tough couple of fixtures coming up so his attacking output will be limited as Augsburg will sit in really deep. Think I saw they had like 20% possession against Dortmund last game out. Defending deep is usually never great if you own a fullback in fantasy as they never get up the pitch to get crosses in or create any chances. I don’t think he is a bad pick though and if he makes it work for the rest of your side he might well be worth it. Judging by that chart in the article he only has one 4, so even if he does not do well you well likely have a chance to remove him.

Transfers done….only to then find out Sancho might not play this weekend
(probly due to Utd TF speculation)

    Anyway hay ho’
In comes 2 mids and a gk
    Olmo for Sané
    Kamada for Wooyeong
    Hradecky for Pervan

    Good luck guys :good:

FBL: Was too busy for a while last couple of days…apparently, my team looks like a RED flagged camp with Sane, Kostic, Poulsen and Sancho.
Need to transfer out the first 2, but what to do with the other 2? Any news on Poulsen injury and Sancho cold?

    • 54.1

I am just going to chance it on Sancho. Poulsen has trained from what I heard, but if you have no other needs besides Sane and Kostic you could think about Fulkrug or Kramaric for Poulsen unless you rather get rid of Sancho.

      • Mito, I am going for a second week with no transfers.
Have been busy with my FPL team on a WC.

        • It takes like 5 minutes. smile

That’s what I do with the Scottish team also.

If you ask like GM I would have thrown out a couple of decent options out there, besides you should probably focus on your fbl team instead of your fpl team from what I have seen. :hippo:

      • GoalMachine says:

Sold Poulsen, Sane and Kostic…….could not fit Kimmich…ended with Reyna in last minute and 8m ITB. Carrying Brenet since Gw1, not getting chance to sell him. smile
I almost forgot about SP….last min. did a parallel move on Aberdeen attack (Not Ferguson, the PK guy)…don’t expect much there as well.
