FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 28 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 28. Stop the clock, we had a good week! We scored 86pts, alright, alright we know many of you scored more, but we enjoyed a rise of 37k places as we rise to 221k. Still a lot of work to be done of course, but the big weeks are still to come (we say in hope!) If we had only played Niasse instead of Lingard we’d have scored ten points more. Then again if we had played Niasse he would have got injured kicking off knowing our misfortune. We didn’t captain Aguero which was also a blow but Salah did ok the day after. Oh what could have been! Oh and Alonso… guaranteed clean sheet and yet the nobhead twists his ankle and misses the points. Tosser. Other highlights were Firmino (12), Shaqiri ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 28 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 28. So, here we are then, the storm as a result of the FA Cup fifth round is upon us and we’re already seeing games taken out in Gameweek 31, with another postponement possible once Spurs undertake the replay against Rochdale. On the basis that the north London team makes it past the League 1 side – like Man City didn’t on Monday night – to Round 6, their game against Newcastle becomes the sixth fixture out of a possible 10 that will be a big fat blank for that week. Looking at that week in March, you may want to use your free hit chip, however do bear in mind Gameweek 35 then carries with it blank gameweek possibilities as well. It clashes with Round 7 of the same tournament with Man City v Swansea, Br...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 28 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 28. Guess who’s back, back again, Mito’s back, tell a friend. Is that Kun and Salah going round the outside, round the outside? Sorry, sometimes I get caught listening to some old Em. So, I have been asked to write the captaincy article this week and as I always do, I pitched a different idea. As always though, it was shot down. To be fair, I can’t really remember what I was pitching, is just in my nature to be difficult. Well, at least that’s what my mom has always said, of course, I disagree with her assessment. Speaking of momma bear, she has always been a conservative lady and if she were advising me on who to put in this article, she probably say “Give th...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 28 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 28. And so it all becomes a bit clearer… Blank GW31 that is. We’d best spend a moment talking about that particular GW as it appears it may be the only one left which actually matters. Apparently. We are being facetious of course…. It is worth a mention though, don’t get us wrong. It’s significant in so much as it is on the horizon and will only feature 4 or 5 games and therefore 8 or 10 teams – Bournemouth vs West Brom Stoke vs Everton Liverpool vs Watford Huddersfield vs Crystal Palace Spurs v Newcastle is the 5th game and is dependant on Rochdale going to Wembley and winning. Which probably won’t happen. But don’t forget that we have 3 GW...[Read More]
Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW28 Looking at last game-week, there are only a couple of scores that really standout. The obvious one is of course Newcastle’s 1-0 victory over Man Utd, one half of the Brothers Chuckle is especially happy with that one! The other; Huddersfield’s 4-1 win over Bournemouth, the other half of the brothers Chuckle no doubt equally made up, given his love for a certain Aaron Mooy. The rest was all pretty much as expected; Man City scored loads and won, Watford showed their 4-1 win over Chelsea was a one-off, reverting to type in a 2-0 defeat West Ham and Spurs proved once more that they are top-dogs of North London with a 1-0 win over Arsenal. Many correctly predicted Harry Kane as first scorer (hardly a Mystic Meg moment), but its last week’s winner, the ma...[Read More]

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18 Part 2 Part two of our GABO series sees three more of our writing team come to the party and attempt to tackle the same questions that Mito, Init and Kop answered. Again, they need little introduction as all three are very well known to you all as they are always seen on site commenting, helping or advising. Or recommending Dusan Tadic or Aaron Mooy. Leading the pack is Gallant Pioneer. GP, as he is more commonly known to us is having the season of his life and is set fair for his best ever FPL ranking. Yet he is always willing to help others and write when called upon. Oh. And he loves Dusan Tadic. Rosco is one of our resident Geordies but is most loved for his gravatar of Flash from Dukes of Hazard. He’s a great lad, offers ...[Read More]
Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18 Part 1 As you should all be aware we are now entering crunch time for the season. The DGWs are on the horizon and a Blank GW is even closer still. In addition to Cezary’s superb article on how to negotiate GW31, we have again turned to some FPL ‘experts’ as to what plans they are making for GW31 and also some other more general FPL topics. And of course we finish in a more light-hearted fashion as we allow our panel to express their views on some easy targets! Our article is split into two groups. In this episode we have the old codgers – three people who helped to found FF247 and play an active day-to-day role in ensuring the site is what it is. You know them all well and they should need little introduction. However, that wo...[Read More]
Welcome to Navigating upcoming GWs to field a strong team in BGW31 It’s been a tough FPL season for many of us. The bad news is that it’s about to get even tougher with a number of blank and double GWs to navigate as we slowly reach its final stages. There is good news too though: there is a huge opportunity in those trickier upcoming weeks and those of us who’ll take advantage of it will be the ones who may still find pride in their OR once the dust of this FPL season has finally settled. The first stage of this opportunity has begun already and will end with a very tough BGW31. The purpose of this article is to provide some thoughts on how to manage our FPL teams throughout this stage. Or in other words, to answer the following question: How can we field 10 players in BGW31 without sacri...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27. What a way to kick off the game-week – the North London derby. Kane gets the chance to continue his impressive run vs Arsenal, Mkhi and Aubameyang get the opportunity to prove that last week wasn’t beginner’s luck while Dele Alli’s diving may see him appear more on YouTube than his current celeb status on RedTube. Just four 3pm matches follow as Everton look to bounce back as they host Palace, Brighton are today’s lucky winners as they get to go to Stoke, Swansea and Burnley compete with the previous match for Bore of the Day and West Ham clash with Watford. The early evening match sees (no doubt) many Kun capo’ers cheer on their love as Riyad Mahrez finally gets the opportunity to play at...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 27 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 27. Well, we scored 45 which was just above the average of 43. So not bad, but ultimately not that good. But better than some we have heard from this week, so maybe we should just suck it up and get on with it. We capo’d the wrong bloke (Kun), our two Chelsea defenders didn’t play, Pogba was benched, our Shaqiri scored vs our Begovic. Otamendi and City conceded, Sterling missed an open goal. We could go on, but they were the main lowlights. Aside from Shaqiri’s header (which illustrates perfectly the lunacy of the week), good ol’ Salah continued his run of consistent and impressive form with his brace vs Spurs and just to prove there were some FPL gods smiling down at us, Matthew Lowton ap...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 27. Those of us who write for the site have a WhatsApp chat which is primarily used to ensure that everyone knows who’s writing what and when. From time to time there is some conversation and on Monday night it went a little like this, (abridged version)… Rosco: Fixtures sent, off to shoot myself in the face. Init: Good luck with that, you’ll probably miss. Init: Oh dear. Kop has a rival misery guts judging by the first paragraph. AT: Ahh shite Rosco: What’s up hun? AT: I might have to rewrite mine to be more upbeat. Can’t have the whole site plunged into a state of misery all week hahaha. Rosco it was an excellent intro, I share your pain mate. It has however got me thinking. Perhaps I should try being posit...[Read More]
