After a long and arduous game week, we barely have a moment to catch our breath and we’re quickly into GW33. We won’t be publishing last weeks winners in this article but fear not, we’re not creating some breakaway H&L Superleague, well, not yet anyway! With the quick turnaround, we’ll publish last weeks winners in a double results reveal next week – what drama! See it as a bit like doing the Match of the day challenge! THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… Scoring couldn’t be simpler: Correct Score...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW33

FF247 FPL Team GW33 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW33 We’ll give you three guesses who again was our super-sub this past week! Yep! That man Stuart Dallas (YET AGAIN!). He autosubbed in for Chelsea no-show Cesar Azpilicueta. His one point (don’t laugh) brought our gameweek score to 77 points which is a full thirty points s above the average and brings us up to 269,660 overall. Our third consecutive green arrow and 14th out of the last 17. We’re more than happy with that. If you remember we used our Triple Captain on Harry Kane this week. It was all going to plan with his two excellent goals at Everton but then disaster struck with another ankle knock late in the game which would eventually lead to him missing out the second leg of the DGW at home to Southampton, and an end t...[Read More]

FA Cup Final – Can the cunning Foxes beat the belligerent Blues?

FA Cup Final – Can the cunning Foxes beat the belligerent Blues? The annual journey in the FA Cup is coming to an end. It all started out with 368 non-league teams from levels eight to ten of National League System, back in August 2020. Amongst those competing at the beginning, amusingly named teams like New Salamis and Sporting Bengal United, which could almost be the names of some of our own fantasy league teams. After six qualifying rounds and seven more of the competition proper, we’re now down to the two teams who will contest the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium. Scheduled for Saturday 15th May, kick off at 17:30 BST, the oldest football tournament in the world will feature Leicester City against Chelsea. Focusing on the showpiece game itself, the latest odds on the English FA C...[Read More]

Unstructured Vs Structured Data: Why It’s Important to Fantasy Football’s Future

Unstructured Vs Structured Data: Why It’s Important to Fantasy Football’s Future Consider the following hypothetical scenarios: Scenario A Player A has scored seven goals in his last nine Premier League games and 23 for the season. His next game is away against Chelsea, who have the league’s best defensive record, at Stamford Bridge. Six of those seven goals have been scored in home matches, and, in fact, Player A has only scored twice away from home all season. Scenario B Player B has scored one goal in the last seven games, and he has hit just five goals all season. In a recent interview with the Guardian, his manager has talked about the player’s difficulties since arriving from Boca Juniors in the summer. But his manager has said he has faith in the player and that performances have im...[Read More]

FPL Tips Gameweek 33 – Differentials

FPL Tips Gameweek 33 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 33 – Differentials Differentials you say? But aren’t they that for a reason; usually that they aren’t scoring enough points consistently to warrant our consideration? Yeah, sure. And we get that, but sometimes needs must and sometimes a few differentials can emerge late doors who suddenly start to put a run of form together. And sometimes that is simply because their teams are in a desperate situation and need results. Sooooo… a differential who plays a struggling team you say? Well, yeah. Trust us, this can happen. Not only are they getting desperate but some of the teams / players they are playing against are getting ready for the beach (don’t tell them there’s a bit of a travel ban / pandemic occuring,...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 32

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 32 Just as the Covid restrictions are becoming eased FPL goes all retro on us and casts us back to the mid-2020’s; those glory days when we had a game or two nearly every day to watch in the evening sun. GW32 is spread over 7 separate days and goes from Friday night to sometime next Thursday. We’d say strap in for the ride but in all honesty it’ll be the mundane meandering that we really don’t miss much as the GW goes on, and on, and on… It may be worth having a flutter to pass the time and if so here you can find some good betting apps on which to do so. It is of course a DGW, of sorts, with Spurs going twice. They kick us off on Friday with an away trip to Goodison at 8pm. Saturday is fractured with just the two game...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW32

FF247 FPL Team GW32 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW32 Everbody Does Dallas As regular readers will know, we have benefitted a few times from the autosub rule this season. Call it luck if you like (we don’t – you won’t get good points from your bench if you don’t have good players on it) but we have already called upon two Matt Targett clean sheets and bonus points, an Ezri Konsa clean sheet, a 12-point haul from Jesse Lingard and a Stuart Dallas goal at Leicester a few weeks back. However, the ‘Cookstown Carlos’ outdid all of the above with his two goals at Champions-elect Manchester City last weekend as he ascended – wearing a crown and in a glow of brilliant light – from our bench with his 17 points and the next time the FF247 committee gather...[Read More]

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off – FW32 DGW Edition

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off – FW32 DGW Edition We felt that any usual stand alone article may be somewhat redundant this week, given the ‘obviousness’ of the Spurs DGW; do we really need to tell you that Spurs have a double this week and that Palace blank (that’s the Fixtures article done), or that your captain will 80% be Kane or 20% Son (Capos article done), or that you should probably buy some of the aforementioned (Tips done). No, we don’t. So instead we decided to probe some FPL minds on a range of wider issues, with a small eye on the above topics. Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW32

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW32 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW32. Next week will be a long and drawn-out game week lasting pretty much the full week. Great for those who like their daily football fix drip-fed to them, but for FPL managers (and we’re all still those right?) it will feel like death by 1000 cuts, only to realise you did just fine in the end. That doesn’t change much here though! All we want from you is your predictions, and there is nothing painful about that thankfully! It was a close one this week, real close. Just a single point separates first from second and second from third, but this weeks winner is Hammerfan with a tidy 11pts. Sadly MDB will have to make do with second despite an admirable 10pts. Likewise, third ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 31

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 31 A relatively normal GW, certainly it is if you now consider the norm to be non-stop televised football from 8pm on Friday until 10pm on Monday anyway. Fulham and Wolves kick us off on Friday night, with fantasy interest probably a bit thin on the ground. Saturday is relatively short lived for once with Man City and Leeds at lunchtime, Liverpool seeking revenge on Villa in the 3pm game before Palace welcome local rivals Chelsea at 5.30pm. You get the night off after that. To watch Match of the Day. Sunday is more elongated with Burnley and Newcastle easing us in, literally, as we all find some hoovering or ironing to do instead. Be a good one to earn some brownie points in as the next two look delicious. West Ham and Leicester will go at it at 2....[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW31

FF247 FPL Team GW31 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW31 No case for the defence We realise that it is the headline figure of the gameweek score which is the most important thing and not obivously the nuts and bolts of who did what within. Thankfully. Our defence was wickedly bad this past week. Martinez got 4 in goals thanks to six saves against Fulham and oh but for Tyrone Mings gifting Fulham their goal, we could have had a Martinez special. The back three combined for THREE points – hindered by Azpilicueta’s Zero and *cough* ‘boosted’ by Dallas’ 2. Digne was Joe Average. Speaking of average, Gareth Bale has not often been called that but this past week, he was even sub-average with 1 measly point and DCL, whose form is off a cliff, at least got two. Onto the goo...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 31

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 31 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 31 There will have been a fair bit of disparity in scores last week, across many a mini-league, and most of it will have simply come down to owning / captaining Kane. Out of the top 5 captained players amongst ‘live’ teams (Kane, Bruno, Salah, Bamford & KdB) only Kane made it into the weekly FPL ‘Dream Team’. The rest of it was made up with the likes of Pereira, Trezeguet, Mendy and Callum Robinson (who?!). There will be no prizes for guessing how most of our panel from last week fared then, outside of our Kane picker; 1. Matt – Kane, 26 points. Top spot, by a mile, thanks to 2 goals and all 3 bonus points. Should have been fairly obvious really though; he was playing vs Newcastle… ...[Read More]
