Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 2 Hello and welcome to Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News Gameweek 2. We hope you enjoyed the return of our predicted line-ups last week and we have the absolute pleasure of offering you the excellent information provided by our good friends at Drafthound once more. For the benefit of the late-comers or those at the back not listening properly, here is the history of this old ‘teatime on a Friday’ favourite. If you can’t do something properly don’t bother doing it at all… The above title is a bit of a motto of FF247. And it sort of explains why we used to do this article but then suddenly stopped. The truth of the matter is that it simply became too much work for the team. Following every word of every press conf...[Read More]
Site Team Gameweek 2 Welcome to Site Team Gameweek 2 The 2021/22 season is underway and we’ve started off in a very handsome manner indeed; 94 points and a rank of 817,700. Although this wasn’t the opening century achieved by many of our friends, had you offered us 25pts above the average prior to GW1, we’d have snapped your hand off (in true Football Clichés style). Despite the best efforts of our shameful Five (Barnes with 3pts, Toney with 2pts and Bachmann, Shaw and Raphinha all just a solitary 1pt) who tried their damndest to bring down the average, our other six (who had clearly read the briefing) brought home the bacon. Nice. Double Liverpool at the back got us off to a solid start; a clean sheet win at Carrow Road bringing in a solid 12pts between Trent and the self-anointed ‘...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 2 Patience is a virtue… Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 2 It’s fair to say that our Tips writers absolutely smashed GW1. Then again, we would all also win the lottery every week if we were able to pick all 59 numbers, which is effectively what they did. We hope you picked the good ones! Gameweek 2 is where we begin to whittle that lot down a bit though. One gameweek is hardly a huge basis to make sweeping judgements, but we can at least begin to see who is likely to hit a bit of form, who we can expect better from and which horses we may want to get off pronto. Read their advice, take some if necessary, just don’t go ripping your team up just yet; patience is a virtue and after all you picked the original lot for a reason. After al...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 2 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 2 As is customary in these articles we start by running the rule over the previous week’s selection, So, how did they do? Whilst Mito offered a compelling argument for Riyad Mahrez, in reality, it was a straight shootout between Swirly (Bruno) and yours truly (Salah). In the wider sense, it wasn’t much of a battle. When the game updated on Friday night, early data reported a whopping 92% had gone Salah (c) – crikey. Bruno kicked off the ‘battle’ in the Saturday lunchtime fixture at home to Leeds, and as the final whistle blew, Bruno had amassed a whopping 40pts to those who had handed him the armband. 3 goals, non from the penalty spot – go figure. Game on, and the less said about the B...[Read More]
FPL Ramblings I hate writing these intros, I probably spend more time on this small paragraph than the rest of the actual article. I wrote 2-3 sentences, then deleted it, didn’t like it. I started again and deleted it again. Wasn’t funny, didn’t make sense, where am I going with that, does it even set up the article? Arghhhh!! You know what, here are some fpl thoughts. Team of the Week There are many places we could start, but when two of the priciest and most heavily owned guys put on a show, that is probably a good place. If you have not figured out which two I am talking about, you probably need to change hobbies. I speak of Salah and Bruno, of course. It wasn’t just that they had huge hauls (top two in fpl). It was their displays, in general, that should have ow...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW2 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW2. It’s good to be back. I mean that entirely from a ‘fan of Premier League’ perspective. As an NUFC fan (and season ticket holder for those new around here) it was bloody awful. Could be worse, I could be a Leeds fan. Let’s get to the winners yeah? We ended GW1 with a tie for the top spot. RafflesHotspur and Shutto both finished with 11pts, however, Raffles 15th minute FGS prediction was closer than Shutto’s 10-minute effort (Sergi Canos in the 22nd minute). A plethora finished on 10pts, want to know who? Check the table! And so; Many Congratulations to RafflesHotspur. Please email us here; contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk to claim your prize. Premier League managerial feuds: Four defining spats The Premier League is a fiercely intense arena, and it is awash with some strong characters. Passion can spill over on the pitch between the players, and even the managers have been embroiled in battles. While off it, there have been more than a few choice words exchanged. We have borne witness to many a hostile moment where some Premier League bosses have failed to keep their emotions in check. So, let’s unlock the vault, and look back at a few feisty, if not arguably comical episodes between some of the main culprits. 1) Arsene Wenger v Jose Mourinho We couldn’t have possibly curated this list without including this famous warring duo. Jose Mourinho invariably lorded it over Arsene Wenger, and when Chelsea came up against Arsenal, the ...[Read More]
FPL Team News and Predicted Line-ups Gameweek 1 If you can’t do something properly don’t bother doing it at all… The above title is a bit of a motto of FF247. And it sort of explains why we used to do this article but then suddenly stopped. The truth of the matter is that it simply became too much work for the team. Following every word of every press conference and then analysing that info and translating it into a line-up… twenty times, was quite frankly a bit too time consuming. The knock on effect was that it also pulled some key personnel away from the site on a Thursday and Friday. So we got into a situation whereby we had RMT’s stacking up and nobody to answer them! Would you rather the likes of Smash, GP and Init be stuck behind a computer waiting to r...[Read More]
Site Team Gameweek 1 Hello and welcome to Site Team Gameweek 1. Seeing as FPL opened about 4 months ago, you would think we would have spent hours formulating our plans for the team, endlessly researching the stats and pre-season appearances of the players and balancing our budget to accommodate the must haves and the dark horses. No. We all forgot about it until the Taskmaster that is Mito, clipped us round the ear and made us do stuff. Well, even then it was just to say if we liked ‘his’ team that he had created for us. ( …and even still we have our suspicions that The Legend played Twitter roulette and copied the first template he found). But guess what? We all, in the main, loved the draft. A little tweak here and there to justify our enormous salaries but by and large we felt great an...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 1 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 1 Variety is the spice of life (Tips) As we alluded to in the previous Captains piece we have split the workload for Tips too. As such, rather than having one exhausted writer tailing off when it comes to the final Forwards section we shall have 3 or 4 sprightly individuals all at the top of their game giving you their player tips for each position. This week we present you with Swirly in nets, Rosco with a case for defence, Mito with the middle ground and Smash with the forward thinking. Swirly – Goalkeepers First up on the inaugural tips article of the season is Brighton’s Robert Sanchez, who costs just £4.5m – a price that was quite the pleasant surprise on launch day! Previous seasons have seen us go “How ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 1 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 1 And off we go again… We hope this article finds you safe and well and almost on the other side of things. Much has changed in the past 18 months or so; our way of living has altered and people have had jobs and personal circumstances change. At FF247 Towers we tried to maintain a constant rhythm throughout it all and we pretty much nailed it. We weren’t able to have our regular flow of articles due to the deadlines / gameweeks all seeming to run into each other but we did our best in terms of posting articles whenever there was a gap that allowed us to do so. We are blessed with a fantastic team of dedicated writers and they all helped us hurdle the obstacles and we can’t thank ...[Read More]
