The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

United apparently turned down the chance to buy Reus…
    LvG is on drugs!!

      The B says:

He is putting some faith in Rooney now, maybe this was his way of saying, “Hey Rooney you pig, I am not buying a world class player because I have got you, now fuckin score for us you ass.”

      • Raziel says:

Mehehe. For some reason I’m really starting to believe you’re a real Southpark char, you even talk like them. smile

And if that backfires… like it has been happening…
LOT of faith put on the 19yr old back up…

        • Calvin Clyne says:

I agree it all seems very strange from United, but let’s not forget Rooney was brought in for similar money as a teenager way back when (inflation adjusted) and having a similar goalscoring record at the time too…

        • PeterPan says:

          Calvin Clyne,
Difference is Rooney already had made a name for himself on the international level…

        • inittowinit says:

I agree Peter, I saw enough of Rooney back then for Everton and he was almost a finished article even at that stage. Problem is he’s never actually really improved since!

        • PeterPan says:

          innit
Agreed actually, with Ronaldo they played off eachother well, unfortunately he hasnt really had a good enough partner to play with him since.
And with his age coming a long his pace/fitness seems to have dropped a little which doesnt help.
That and honestly his positional play and 1st touches have been piss poor!! Sad thing is there is no real competition to push him… hence good luck to this kid and hope he does.

      @ Peter

You believe everything they write? United were never in for Pedro in the first place, it’s just the media that links teams and when one goes somewhere else, they’re like owwwwwwww they missed out. They missed out on Ramos. Guess what? Real Madrid missed out on David de Gea. I know a litte something about this French kid and I think he’s going to amaze people.

Their defence is still shite though, maybe a bit better with David de Gea but Blind is fucking shite against the big guys. And guess what? All the top teams have big guys. Benteke will destroy Blind. 😉

        Raz
That offer of Reus makes sense though with Januzaj going there… but not signing him is strange…
Hopefully Rojo pulls finger and UTD geta the best out of either him or Blind… time will tell

        • Raziel says:

Who signed Reus now than? He’s still a Dortmund man right? Like I said I don’t believe a word the media says about these players, who they are linked with and so on. Especially United has been linked with pretty much every players out there: Ibrahimovic/Cavani/Reus/Griezmannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and so on and so on. The players he wanted have come pretty much immediately when he wanted them to come, so I think those were just the players he’s interested in.

This sort of reminds me of Bayern Munchen. His first season he almost won them the treble. Second season he refused to buy new players and especially a goalie (which they really needed), this and a row with ULI mess his shit up there. Was funny though. HAHAHA! He’s much worse now than he was then. laugh

Obviously it’ll depend on injuries from internationals but could this be the right type for All Out Attack?

    Evening!!

Does anyone know if these rumours about gradel are true? Torn cruciate ligament!!

    Andy says:

I’ve got a nice little defensive decision to make before the next GW, the plan is to upgrade either Maddison or Targett to a 5.4 valued player (Courtois/Merts), I’m leaning towards Merts atm but should I play a little safer and take the GK route now as Mccarthy would be my only playing keeper and Speroni could be back soon.

    • 138.1

Well, apart from Hart an Cech, you can afford every other goalkeeper in the league…

Keepers I expect to do well over the next 10 GWs:
      Courtois
      Mignolet (yes, I’m serious)
      Lloris
      Fabianski
      Howard (no, I’m not drunk)

      • Andy says:

You have to be a little bit drunk with Howard smile

Good point on the keeper list though I guess I don’t have to go to the limit of my budget just for a GK.

        • jamesimmo says:

Andy… I’d go for a keeper too. Fabi & Howard are probably less preferable.

        • I haven´t been drinking lately , I promise! (although that would explain my league ranking)

          DeGea for 5.3m???

        • Captain Dicky and His C Men says:

With LVG’s ego, expect De Gea to have to earn his place back in the side. I reckon he’ll play a few cup games then take Romero’s place if he makes another mistake.

        • inittowinit says:

To be fair to the lad he’s not really done anything wrong throughout the whole saga as far as I can tell. He’s been treated shoddily this past day though. Give it a month I reckon and he’ll be back in as No1 once his head is right again.
