The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

Morning everybody. Took me a bit longer to get back than I was hoping so missed the transfer deadline day yesterday. Is there any big signings coming in or out or any worthwhile fantasy ones?? I’ve seen the whole De Gea debacle and Martial being bought for an outrageous amount but that’s really it.

That pretty much is it. West Ham did some business but other than it was small stuff. Might be a surprise or two but no stand out names

      • MattX says:

Ah right Cheers SAF. Don’t really think Martial will be worth it but who knows and now I just need to scour the teams and see if there’s any bargain players that might be of use.

        • AT says:

Matt, the thing that surprises me most is the clause in the contract between the two clubs that would allow Monaco to claim over £20m extra if he performs at United.

I think he could do well but a lot to pay for him.

        • MattX says:

Okay that I didn’t know about but that’s mad!! What would performing mean though? Scoring 20 goals, 10 goals?? I like him but I think he might not be suited to the premier league just yet might have needed a another year or two

        • AT says:

I think that is where United win as I’d imagine they’ll have unobtainable targets laid out.

We will see, could be a cheap route into the United attack though..

        • MattX says:

Ye just had a look there and he’s 8 mil so it’s not too bad if he does play well.

Just seen City completed the De Bruyne deal and he’s 10 mil. How do you think City will lineup with him now?? Who’ll be dropped to fit him in??

        • Brookyboy says:

Winning the golden boot and ballon d’or are two of the clauses !!!

        • AT says:

Matt, I thought he’d be closer to 7!

De Bruyne down the middle, Sterling on the right, Silva on the left. Navas making way.

        • MattX says:

Brookyboy – haha more than likely

AT- ye I’m surprised its 8 mil but them again that new Spurs striker is 8 mil as well and yet I’ve never heard of him.

        • SAFs_hairdryer says:

I think it would be a mistake to push Silva out wide. He is running the show from the #10 spot with 2 fast wingers staying wide and stretching the defence. De Bruyne will just make City play narrow like Arsenal

Please support with my formation , 2 FT are available and i suggest -4 with (Pedro-Sterling and Martial) instead of (Hazard-Arnautovic and Rooney)

    PeterPan says:

Martial is 8m… You guys think he will start?
Imagine if he does then Rooney will drop back behind him.
Well we saw last year that even paying massive amount of money for someone that LvG doesnt care and will bench them.

Any signings people are watching for FPL?

The NFL starts on the 10th of this month so it’s a perfect time to get involved before the next EPL GW kicks off.

Still quite happy with my current team but thinking about Wildcarding to make some changes.
    Cedric>Van Dijk
    Benteke> Gomis
    Deeney> Wilson

    Any thoughts?

Just do Benteke to Gomis as he will if even fit for Gwk 5 struggle without Coutinho and you’ll bank some cash for your Gwk 6 manoeuvres.

      The B says:

You team looks fine for the time being. If you have 1 FT, just hold on to it and use it on one of Benteke/Caz/Deeney. I think this coming GW you can still field in a strong starting 11, and if you delay WC by a week, you can easily jump on to new players that City and WH have signed.
