Fantasy Football Fixtures

The first FPL article of the week that looks forward to the up and coming gameweek is the Fantasy Football Fixtures article, where we sort through which Premier League clubs have the easiest and hardest looking fantasy premier league fixtures for the short-term and thus enable managers to construct their FPL squads and think over transfers accordingly.

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 30

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 30 Where’s Wally? Hello Mr Bond, we’ve been expecting you. Was that ever actually said?! We shall let you investigate that for yourselves. Either way I wasn’t particularly expecting to see myself this week, at least not back on Fixtures duty so soon after the last one. But needs must, and in an effort not to repeat myself I have recruited a helping hand. A scapegoat, if you will, although I haven’t actually told him that yet. In fact he will take centre stage, with all of the favourable goodness. And I shall come back in at the end of it, with all the miserable stuff – a sort of licensed troubleshooter. Why miserable? Because I’m still seething on the back of Bale being benched, and being kept there. By Mr Miserable, aka Dr No. (that’s yo...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 29

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 29 A dog is not just for Christmas A fixtures article in a week that contains just four of them may seem a bit odd, but please just bear with us. The intention here is to analyse those very fixtures themselves, but also, and possibly more importantly, to then have a look at what those teams offer beyond this week. Aka ‘are they worth all the hassle’. We shall then also have a quick delve into the fixtures of all the other teams, simply because you sometimes need to know about what you are selling, as much as what you are replacing it with. GW29 Fixtures Fulham v Leeds This is a tough one to call. Fulham will almost certainly look to stifle and nick the odd goal in the process, whereas Leeds will almost certainly go on the offensive. Depending on whether Ba...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek GW26

FPL Fixtures Gameweek GW26 We’re now entering what is generally known as the business end of the season. The time for plans to be executed, Chips to be utilised, chances to be taken and if all goes well the time for big leaps in the rankings. Or if you’re like me, plans to be made, said plans to be ignored and Chips wasted! With all this in mind and following the announcement of the majority of rescheduled fixtures, allow me to try and navigate you through the next four game-weeks (and in some cases beyond). These next four game-weeks are a real mixed bag – we start with the season’s biggest double game-week and end in GW29 with just four fixtures. And just to add spice to those quirky weeks we have a tiny DGW in 27 and a possible DGW in 28 for Villa and Everton. With so many teams doublin...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 24 (and 25 and beyond…)

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 24 (and 25 and beyond…) A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… I used to write the Fixtures articles on both here and FFC* before us (*’Fantasy Football Cheat’ for those of a younger era). Week in and week out, for years on end, and whilst it was always a pleasure it could sometimes become monotonous. But then once in a while a Double Game-Week (DGW) would pop up and that would really (finally) pique the interest. Kid in a candy shop and all that. Or more like a weather reporter in Florida who suddenly has a hurricane to deal with. We both know they are coming eventually but for 98% of the rest of the year it’s samey-samey. I have long since given up the monotony, prefering to introduce some younger blood and new voices to the scene....[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 18

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 18 No sh*t, Sherlock Writing this so early may yet prove to be folly, and no doubt the second it is published the PL will announce a circuit breaker and B(lank)GW18 will become B(leak)GW18 and we shall be back into the territory of adding ‘+’ symbols to GW’s again. But just in case we somehow avoid the above doomsday scenario we have decided to break the upcoming week’s down into words. You could always just look at the Fixture Tracker but sometimes it also helps to have the lay of the land spelt out in simple terms.* *On the above, and to confirm what BoJo said on Monday evening, as far as he is concerned he is happy for it to continue. But that does of course depend on Covid cases within clubs not escalating and the players behaving responsib...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 10

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 10 I’ll be honest I was finding it easier to pick out teams with unfavourable fixtures, rather than favourable ones for this week’s article. Not sure if teams are so bad the fixtures are looking terrible to me or if I’m just morphing into Kop! I seem to be getting more pessimistic by the second this season so yeah… I’ll just say Kop’s influence has worn me down. Coming back from an international break where Ireland played another three games and still didn’t score, Salah decided kissing and hugging loads of people at a wedding in the middle of a pandemic was a good idea, and another load of players got injured. Do you really need to question why I’m becoming a pessimist yet? FIFA really need to have a rethink about these international games and why they are even going...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 9

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 9 Half-term report Ok, so we aren’t even a quarter of the way through yet but in England they call it ‘half-term’ in October (albeit it is now November but who is keeping count anymore), and they do it again in February, go figure. So with that sort of clever math we are calling it that too. Rather than waffle on about a few select teams we have decided to have a quick (ish) one-liner (or two) about how we feel each term is progressing so far. And in the process we have ordered them into some sort of fashion in relation to their next three fixtures. FPL FIXTURE TRACKER But first up that all important Fixture Tracker itself… FIXTURE TRACKER LINK FIXTURE TRACKER 2020/21 Good Fixtures Aston Villa – Brighton (H), West Ham (A), Newcastle (H) V...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 8

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 8 How time flies, eh? Just over a year ago, I remember my Gameweek 9 article reflecting on numerous FPL accounts hacked and the ‘Wagatha Christie’ famous tussle between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, around the same time as the latter’s husband was contributing with three goals in the 9-0 rout of Southampton. Fast forward to now and the positive is that I now have a kitten trying to walk over the keyboard as I type this, though it gets dark at 5pm, it’s raining and howling a gale, it looks like there’s more time to spend at home and there’s longer to wait until any fans are allowed back in stadia. Still, all good things come to those who wait, huh? That reminds me, I must enjoy a pint of the black stuff in a pub before Thursday. So, as we look forward to the fixture...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Analysis GW7

FPL Fixtures Analysis GW7 When FF247 checked my readiness for writing this Fixtures article, I realized that I’ve been put on a 10-day straight work schedule coming up on Monday. You know, during a pandemic that’s ramping up all over the States, working 10 days straight is EXACTLY what a person wants to do, right? Ever the gentleman, Adam (Init to you) gave me permission to just bin the article this week and focus on work – but I’ve done enough of these articles over the years that I thought I could probably churn something out on a lazy Sunday whilst sipping on something poured on the rocks. And if that didn’t work, I figured I could always grab a throwback and get some DayQuil into my system to push this article to the finish line. Long story short, Adam gave me an out, but I decli...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 6

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 6 When I first realised I was writing Fixtures this week my initial thought was ‘what’s the point’. That’s not me being petty or dismissive, more a genuine consideration given the results over the opening 5 game weeks. The two constants for any FPL manager – form and fixtures, no longer seem quite so important. Take West Ham as a case in point. They lose their opening two fixtures; at home to Newcastle and away to the Gunners, so we conclude they are out of form, right? Their fixtures in Game week’s 3 and 4 (home to Wolves and away to Leicester) looked like ‘bad’ fixtures so logically we should avoid them but they win both, score 7, conceding 0. Normality seemingly returned as they headed towards a 3-0 defeat to Spurs at the weekend, only for them to score 3 in ...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 5

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 5 WTAF?! You’ll have to excuse a few profanities in the intro here but I’m sure you’ve all uttered similar enough recently, and for similar reasons, so here we go: Right then, what is it you actually want to know? You want to know who has good fixtures and who has bad ones, yeah? Well… how the f*ck am I supposed to know when Man Utd concede 6 at home, Liverpool get beaten 2-7 by Aston Villa, Leicester look like world beaters by sticking 5 past Man City and then back it up by getting stuffed 0-3 at home to f*cking West Ham. How on earth am I supposed to write a normal and sensible ‘fixtures guide’ on the back of all that?! :explode: Good question…. That tweet from GNev2 probably summed it all up (although it needs context), but crack on we shall...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 4

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 4 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Gameweek 4. I think it’s probably in all of our interests if we just move on from Gameweek 3 like it never happened. Like a petulant child, let’s not give it the attention it so clearly craves. Last week, Matt trialled Boris’s new rule of three before it gets rolled out to the masses: “Avoid, Avoid, Avoid”. It would probably be more effective, in all honesty. More effective than “Hands, Face, Space”, whose similarity to the popular children’s song with a conflicting message is its problem; it’s only when I get to the third “body part” that I realise I’ve messed up again, having enthusiastically rubbed my germy hands together and slapped them onto my face. No, “Avoid, Avoid, Avoid” conveys a much clearer message and can be applied to all manne...[Read More]
