FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW33 The 100 Club We began fearing for our Free Hit team early doors, namely the second when our captain Aguero first looked over to the bench. Whenever he does that you usually don’t see him again for a few weeks. And sure enough, there he was gone, albeit with a decent captains score in the bag already, for a single game-week player anyway. Things got worse when Lindelof did indeed fail to appear, especially bad as we had ‘prior’ warning of this but chose to ignore it. FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW32 The Mané event…. Sometimes it’s all about nailing your captain and everything else just falls into place. We voted for Mané and we ignored the rumours flying around and the game’s most in form player did us proud. He scored, he assisted, he collected maximum bonus points for a 13pt return. We even had a last minute vote to double check that we were all comfortable sticking with him; and it was fairly unanimous, we even decided to do so on the basis that he would be a differential come the deadline! FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW31 The bare necessities… A relatively successful week, but one that somehow felt it should have been so much more… Our decision to captain Salah over Vardy cost us 11 valuable points, but we are at least grateful that we brought the latter in at all after his 16 point haul. Our score of 56 was alright – it was better than the average of 48 and saw us achieve the smallest of green arrows, for the second week in a row, to rest at 29, 423rd. However, its a win and we’ll always take a win. FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW30 Paying the penalty… The upside to selecting penalty takers is obvious, the downside is a -2 if they ever miss one. To have one do so is bad luck, to have two doing so leaves you looking around for dead black cats in your rear view mirror. Twice. Pogba and Aubameyang combined for a -2 for us, not quite what you expect for a near combined £19m outlay and 20% of your FPL budget! The fact that we had 14 points sat on the bench doesn’t help matters but the rest pulled together to somehow get us 51 and a green arrow. FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW29 No Kun do… When the week begins with the ever consistent Jimenez blanking against bottom club Huddersfield and then Doherty conceding a clean sheet in the dying minutes you could be forgiven for thinking it would be another one of those weeks. The truth is, it very nearly was. It took another attacking full back to pull us back from the brink really, as TAA weighed in with an unusual hat-trick of assists, a clean sheet and full bonus points for an unexpected haul of 18. A strange old midweek campaign for us which saw us end up with only 10 players and even one of those made the briefest of brief cameos We scraped in at 46, a meagre 4 above the overall average and yet we still grabbed our 6th green arrow in a row and a small rise up in the rankings by just over a thousand spots to land in 31,076th, yet another season high. Jimenez and Aubameyang led the way with 12 points each, Pogba and Doherty also pulled their weight with 7 and 6 respectively. Well, to explain ourselves properly our 5 superstars contributed 64 of our 70pts with Captain Salah leading the way with 30pts, Sane 12, Wilson 9, Pogba 8 and Jimenez 5. The less said about the other 6 numptys the better, especially Digne who scored an own goal from 25 yards for a -1 payback. Our 70pt total sees our team of misfits record a 5th consecutive green arrow and sees us show us a global rank of 32,227, which is a season best so far. FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW23 Another decent week here, and yet again also one that could have been so much better; but for some fine margin decisions this week in both team & bench selection, and some much wider ones in weeks previous. To have Shaw with his 8 points sat behind Camarasa on the bench is gutting. To have Rashford not even in the squad, having owned him a few weeks back is baffling, but more on that later!
