FF247 FPL Team GW4

FF247 FPL Team GW4 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW4. Glass half full…. As the UK government has shown consistently this year, there is always more than one way to perceive data. As I (Cookie) write this I look upon the site team with pride after GW3. We scored 48pts beating the average by a full 5pts and recorded our first green arrow of the season, jumping almost 500k places, no mean feat I’m sure you would agree. In a week where scores were low and in some cases quite unpredictable we have come through unscathed and in decent shape. Some others on the committee may point fingers at our transfer policy which saw us sell hat-trick hero Vardy for that clown JimĂ©nez who did at least score, just in the wrong net. Unfortunate I’d say. Oh cr@p, here comes Init, he doesn’t look too happ...[Read More]

FPL Tips Gameweek 4

FPL Tips Gameweek 4 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 4. The first and most important tip you’ll get this year is to buy players that are on penalty kick duties. This season has seen 20 kicks from the spot in the 28 games that have taken place. That’s an average of 0.71 awarded penalties per match. To put things in perspective 2018 saw 103 penalties for an average of 0.27 per match while in 2019 there were 92 for 0.24. Three game-weeks is still a small sample of course but these 20 penalties did not happen in a random way – they were a result of the new rules in place. Or of the interpretation (not) being made of them by the refs. Speaking of which, another interesting way of looking at this is precisely from the perspective of the referees who awarded them. So, it seems that Anthony Taylor has...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 4

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 4 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 4. Shiny Old Toys Ok then class, hands up, who did well with their armband last week? Cue silence. A week for the differential, evidently. The answer was of course Vardy as he was top scorer and would have netted you a cool 34. But he was away vs Man City, and given the alternatives he wasn’t exactly top of most peoples list. Top of our list last week were Jimenez with 0 points, Kdb and Werner with 4 and Kane and Salah with a slightly more respectable, but still rather dissapointing 10. And all that was doubled. The ‘Confessional’ all had some combo of the above too, so we can’t even point to a glory seeker there. Let’s go see if this week’s panelists stick with the tried and tested, the ...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 4

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 4 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Gameweek 4. I think it’s probably in all of our interests if we just move on from Gameweek 3 like it never happened. Like a petulant child, let’s not give it the attention it so clearly craves. Last week, Matt trialled Boris’s new rule of three before it gets rolled out to the masses: “Avoid, Avoid, Avoid”. It would probably be more effective, in all honesty. More effective than “Hands, Face, Space”, whose similarity to the popular children’s song with a conflicting message is its problem; it’s only when I get to the third “body part” that I realise I’ve messed up again, having enthusiastically rubbed my germy hands together and slapped them onto my face. No, “Avoid, Avoid, Avoid” conveys a much clearer message and can be applied to all manne...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW4

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW4 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW4. Football has changed, it was inevitable really. The lack of fans has meant home advantage is no longer such an important factor, 6 away wins in 10 fixtures this weekend only serves to strengthen that belief. We already had VAR to contend with, throw in the new rules with regards to handballs in the box ‘ and our beautiful game’ is fast becoming anything but. If you’re doing well in this competition well done, but let’s be honest, when it comes to predicting the actual scores, you’re just as likely to get it right if you roll a dice. Amongst all this madness it’s perhaps unsurprising that once again our chief mischief-maker Mito is leading the charg...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3. Manchester ‘the new Arsenal’ United try and do better this weekend in the first fixture of the gameweek when they face Brighton, that 4th place won’t win itself you know. That is followed by Palace taking on Everton. A match up of two low to mid table two teams tied for top of the league on points. West Brom will be looking to get their first point of the season when they play host to Chelsea. The Baggies forwards will be on high alert in case the Chelsea keeper is looking for his second assist of the season. In the last game of the day Burnley will take on Southampton and their revolutionary tactics. Sunday sees four more fixtures all nicely spread out. The early game pits...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW3

FF247 FPL Team GW3 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW3 ÂĄArriba, Arriba! Thank the good lord for Mitrović, for our cheap and nasty striker was our highest scorer this week with his brace at Leeds leading to a dozen very gratefully received points. Aside from him it was our men at the back who kept us afloat with clean sheets from Ryan, TAA and VVD while Taylor chipped in with an assist. Captain Aubameyang contributed a mere assist at home to the Hammers and will be lucky to survive the chop. Midfield maestros Havertz and Saint-Maximin hardly troubled the scorers while Vardy and Wilson weren’t much better. In fact, when Leicester score four and Vardy isn’t involved in one bit of it then you probably know the writing is on the wall for your GW. Our score of 53 was below par and has brought us...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 3

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 3 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 3 There were goals and assists galore last week, unfortunately not that many from the obvious picks! To illustrate how odd it got we had 4 picks for you in GW2 and they managed 1 goal and 2 assists between them. Kane got a goal and 4 assists all on his own. KDB was probably the least obvious of our picks and he accounted for 2/3 of those ‘returns’. Or to put it another way, when Leicester score 4 and Vardy is involved in exactly none of the goals you know it’s going to be one of those weeks. Let’s not even mention how the ‘confessional’ went… So let’s go see if we can fare any better for you this week… Cookie: KDB vs Leicester City (H) Back in his stride on Monday night at Wolves, KDB looks as if he ready to car...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW3

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW3 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW3. The staples for a good week in this competition are lots of 2-1 and 1-1 all results. No surprise then that a game week that saw two 5-2 results and no less than five away wins resulted in a low-scoring week. Indeed, only 6 people out of 70 entrants broke into double-digit territory. Our very own master of mischief Mito topped the scoring with a whopping 14pts, closely followed by Perun (12pts) with a tie in third for Ko Nay and Newo who both picked up 11pts. And so; Many Congratulations to Mito. Please email us here; contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk to claim your prize. THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… Scoring couldn’t be simpler: Correct Score = 3 points Correct result = 1 point...[Read More]

FPL Tips Gameweek 3

FPL Tips Gameweek 3 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 3 Hello. This was going to be my first dabble at Tips this season and ahead of GW3, I had planned to furnish you all with players I already owned as they were the ones that had gotten me off to such a good start and looked good for the foreseeable… and then FPL Gameweek 1 happened. After a poor and below average week 1 I recalibrated and prepared myself for the weeks ahead with a -4 by removing Son and Havertz for Rodriguez and Bruno. I was going to just go Havertz to Rodriguez but that wasn’t to be. Oh how I wish I could talk to ‘week-old-ago’ me! We’re now in a position at the end of Gameweek 2 where I am (yet again) below the weekly average – having mustered just 95 points in total – and have managed to escape the house ...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 3

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 3 We all knew deep down that this was going to be a weird ‘ol season, for one reason or another. GW’s 1 & 2 have sort of confirmed this. We’ve had goals galore: some from expected sources, some from those less so. We’ve seen a host of players deliver in GW1 and then a different cast appear in GW2. Salah, Son, Mane and Zaha are all prime examples of this new phenom. Those who didn’t have Salah for GW1 suddenly found themselves wanting Son for GW3 instead, probably via some Bruno merry-go-round. Wish lists have been written, scrapped and re-written more times than Raz tells us he’s missed the deadline #zomg Writing a fixtures article at the start of the season might seem easy but I see it as walking through a minefield. Looking a...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2. Well after an eventful start to the fantasy season we look to settle down a bit with a full set of fixtures and not that blankety blank stuff. Evoking memories of chequebooks and pens. The very popular Everton assets get us going when they welcome West Brom for a lunchtime kickoff. That is followed by three other Saturday fixtures, Leeds vs Fulham, Man U and Mr. Penalty host Palace and Arsenal take on the all but relegated West Ham, all neatly spaced out so we can sit for about half the day in front of the TV. Sunday gives us four more games, also kindly spread out, so much so that no two games ever coincide. Saints welcome Spurs in the early one and that is followed by Toon vs Brighton. In ...[Read More]
