Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 10 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 10. Well if this week’s article isn’t just a joy to write. Trying to project out the next three rounds of games with CL play and a Carabao Cup round sandwiched in between everything is quite a good time. Essentially, due to the increased minutes for players – and the inevitable rotations that we’ll see – you can’t really trust a word I’m about to say here. And in some ways that’s a major win for me. I love being the unreliable narrator. It’s a bit of a lazy trope to outright tell your audience that nothing you say is to be believed, but when it works it works. So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to pretend that non-essential players will be rested for the Carabao Cup. And I...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 9 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 9. Thank God the international break is over! I don’t know anyone that actually likes the break as it is mostly a load of boring games and matches like Armenia vs Gibraltar but this two week break just seemed to be the worst for me. It went on forever, the matches were mostly 0-0 or 1-0, there was zero excitement in any games I watched at all! England played in front of an empty stadium and boy was that one of the most boring, dull, excruciatingly painful games to watch and listen to! There was more excitement in traveling to my local football ground and watching the Ireland U19 team play, at least they know how to score! Well the Premier League is back this week and offers up some lovely tie...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 8 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 8. Writing a ‘Fixtures Analysis’ article, which essentially looks ahead a few weeks in time, is often a redundant job when the weeks ahead are suddenly punctuated by yet another international (*needless / pointless / money grabbing) (*delete as you see fit) exercise. Let’s face it, who’s going to remember what ‘future’ advice was given here come GW9 which is currently 18 days away?! Now of course any transfers made this week, on the basis of also being ‘fixture proof in the future’, should still be relevant come then but there are also a lot of hurdles for any said transfers to jump before they, or indeed you, even think about them featuring in ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6. I don’t often do fixtures articles, instead you usually find me writing Captain Picks or Tips and that is mainly due to the fact I love a differential. They love my off the wall picks, I think (hope), so always lets me share with you all those risky players! Maybe they just wanted to see if I can do the bleeding obvious and simply tell you which fixtures are good, and which are bad, as a test. But they obviously doesn’t know me that well! This week I am going to stick to a best and worst fixtures format but only for the ‘weaker’ teams. I am not going to be telling you that City are great, and Chelsea are good, so load up on them players etc. If you can’t figure that out for yourself…...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 5 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 5. An international break is of course one of the most frustrating times as an FPL manager as we reflect on a good, bad or indifferent game-week just gone and have a fortnight to fight back or continue momentum. In between many of our assets are away on international duty and our hopes are that fatigue, excessive game time or injury do not come back to bite us. Especially for those of us who have made early transfers! This week’s Fixtures will be slightly different in that we are just going to concentrate on those teams featuring in the Champions League or Europa League. The draws for both competitions were made over a week ago and now the teams and their managers will face selection headach...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 4 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 4. Before the season kicked off, we posed the question on Twitter if you were ready for the rollercoaster that is FPL. Well, as I write my first fixtures article for this season, the ups and downs of the season are already in full flow as early as Gameweek 3, with the relative straightforward nature of the first two rounds suddenly in freefall. Fantasy favourite Richarlison was among a good number of players to be sent off, while only Huddersfield, Cardiff and Liverpool managed to keep a clean sheet and just a few of the most-owned footballers scored highly. No surprise the average was just 38 at the time of writing, before Man United and Spurs kicked off. It may be early days, but here are s...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 3 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 3. GW2 FPL 2018/19 may now forever more be remembered as Jamie Jackson Week. There’s a fair to middling chance that prior to about 4.25pm on Friday many (most) of you will never have even heard of Jamie Jackson before. Yeah sure enough, he’s got a hallowed ‘blue tick’ on his twitter page and he’s a ‘journalist’ for The Guardian but we aren’t talking Henry Winter or Neil Custis levels of notoriety here. I’ll freely admit I didn’t have a scooby who he was either. I do now though! He’s just about the most hated person on twitter within FPL circles as we speak. Even Ben Crellin blushed. Bobby Madley’s publicist was perhaps th...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 2 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 2. And as quickly as that, it is all over. All the optimism pumped into you on these boards over the past few weeks has been shattered, all that boasting to your mates that they may as well just pay you the league winner’s money before the season starts has backfired, and all that time picking hidden ‘gems’ was wasted. Indeed, the only hidden gem we truly managed to find – Aaron Wan-Bissaka – was parked on our benches, sandwiched between reckless Enabler A and feckless Enabler B. I joke, of course. We are one week in. I will save you the patronising hare and tortoise, sprint and marathon rubbish in the hope that someone wildcards for the entertainment of the rest of the site. Gameweek 1 will ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 1 We’ve spent the last few weeks studying the promoted teams and new transfers but now it’s time to get down to the business end and prepare for GW1 and beyond with the Fixtures article. As we are all aware, a positive flying start to the FPL season can stand us in good stead for the rest of the season, whereas falling behind early doors can lead to a long campaign of chasing points and rank. So preparation is key, knowledge is power as they say. In that regard let’s kick off the build up to GW1 with a look at who has a favourable start to the season and who may be better off avoided for now. Favourable Fixtures Liverpool – West Ham (H), Crystal Palace (a), Brighton (H) Pre-season seems to have gone well for Klopp and his disciples. Midfielders Ke...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 38 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 38. The usual purpose of this article is to try and give a heads up as to which teams may be worth jumping on and which ones may be worth avoiding in the weeks ahead. The obvious problem this week is that there are no longer any ‘weeks ahead’! We are at the final hurdle. As such we could have been forgiven for simply saying “what’s the point” and leaving it at that but that’s not our style. In for a penny, in for a pound and all that, we’ve decided to give you a quick rundown on all 10 remaining fixtures as we see them. But in all honesty that’s not the real point of the article. The real point is to say thanks to all those who have written a F...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 37. DGW37 Tips And so it is upon us. It is the final double gameweek of the season and the biggest one as well. In reality this will be the week where you make your final dash to clinch that mini-league or perhaps break your personal best in the overall rankings. On the chip front if you have three left then you’re doing it wrong! You will lose one. We only have two weeks left and the smart FPL players will either be playing their Triple Captain Chip (See James’ brilliant summary of the choices in his Captain’s Article) or you will have your Bench Boost in hand with the chance to have up to fifteen players playing twice – that’s 30 ‘shots’ at point scoring – and how d...[Read More]
