FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 6 Werner’s expertise After a dreadful showing in GW5, the pressure was on our ‘experts’ to deliver in GW6. Let’s go see how they fared… Init brought us Kane. And his 32 Captain points. The strongest performance out of the lot. Unfortunately for Init, he didn’t actually own him, never mind being able to stick the armband on him. He captained Sterling himself and, despite scoring 72 points and being a good 12 points above the average, this was the lowest score amongst the ‘experts’. GP went jingoistic with Salah and that would have given him a respectable 14 points. Had he followed through. But he didn’t, he went for Kane himself and grabbed a 94 score, the highest out of the ‘experts’. Kop… we still aren’t entire...[Read More]
FPL Tips Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 6 Sometimes in this life, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t compete. For instance, as good as he can be, Aubameyang will never be Henry; the Houses of Parliament’s morality will always fall far short of Andy Burnham’s relative benevolence. Maupay can only dream of hitting Kane’s numbers — or am I being too harsh? More to follow soon on that one… Anyway, enough of those loose comparisons, here’s what I’m basically trying to say: this Tips article won’t be ‘like’ (read: worthy of lacing the boots of) last week’s Tips article. Swirly did a truly magnificent job — custom-designed pitch graphics and all. I’ll be sticking to just a solitary phone screenshot and snaps from Getty Images that have minimal relevance to the points being made. ...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Gameweek 6 When I first realised I was writing Fixtures this week my initial thought was ‘what’s the point’. That’s not me being petty or dismissive, more a genuine consideration given the results over the opening 5 game weeks. The two constants for any FPL manager – form and fixtures, no longer seem quite so important. Take West Ham as a case in point. They lose their opening two fixtures; at home to Newcastle and away to the Gunners, so we conclude they are out of form, right? Their fixtures in Game week’s 3 and 4 (home to Wolves and away to Leicester) looked like ‘bad’ fixtures so logically we should avoid them but they win both, score 7, conceding 0. Normality seemingly returned as they headed towards a 3-0 defeat to Spurs at the weekend, only for them to score 3 in ...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW6 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW6. West Brom 0 Burnley 0. After 5 weeks we finally have our first 0-0 of the season, a glimmer of normality at long last. The weekend results as a whole did carry a semblance of this normality; a few 1-0 wins, a couple of 1-1 draws, so who knows, maybe things are finally settling down. Onto the results. This week our winner is Turbo who smashed in a whopping 15pts thanks in no small part in his prediction of Mane for FGS. He wasn’t the only one to do so, special shoutouts to Padster, Redmen and Sweetbluetoffee. However, it was our very own Matt with 14pts who snatched 2nd this week, so close my friend. Bringing up the rear in 3rd place were Hammerfan, Mosc, Sarri-ball and RafflesH...[Read More]
FPL Tips: Things to Consider Ahead of the Christmas Period After the opening fixtures, the 2020-21 Premier League campaign looks to be one of the most unpredictable in the competition’s history. According to a report from the BBC, English football’s top-flight clubs spent £1.218 billion in the summer transfer window, only £159 million less than the previous year. In turn, fantasy football options are arguably more exciting than ever before. So, let’s take a look at several factors to consider ahead of the Premier League’s busy Christmas period. Is Liverpool’s Defence Worth Gambling On? In the first Merseyside derby of the season, the reigning Premier League champions lost Virgil van Dijk for the majority of the campaign after he sustained a Grade 3 anterior cruciate ligament injury followi...[Read More]
Top Picks from the Promoted Three Leeds United, Fulham and West Brom are all back in the big time and already some names have jumped out as FPL bargains in the opening weeks. Here’s a look at some of the players from the promoted sides that have made a flying start this season and have provided excellent value for those who took a punt in the first handful of rounds. Patrick Bamford – Leeds United There were plenty of question marks surrounding Patrick Bamford going into the current campaign but the Whites striker has silenced many of his critics. Three goals in the first four games before the international break and Bamford showed why manager Marcelo Bielsa has such great faith in the 27-year-old, who already had 30 FPL points to his name at that point in time. 1️⃣st p...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW5 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW5 I’m Spider-Man In this the almightiest of WTF seasons, how’s this for an encapsulation of it in all its weird and wonderful glory? Last week’s team scored 59 points. Eleven points above the average. If we took away the scores of Alain Saint-Maximin (12) & Callum Wilson (16) – and let’s be honest who would take them out ahead of a game against toiling Burnley, who I ask you … who? – and replaced them with two jobber 2-pointers, we would have scored 35 points and been THIRTEEN points behind the average. Ha’way the lads! If the two of our Geordie-doubting Site Team who shall remain nameless haven’t already tossed their phone or laptop out of the nearest window and are still reading this sentence then well done you! For the polar opposite o...[Read More]
FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 5 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 5 No, no, no, no, no? So presumably you all had Grealish (24 points) or Watkins (19) as captain vs Liverpool? No? How about Son (18) or Kane (16) away at Man United? No? Failing that one of the Everton lads… DCL or Richarlison would surely suffice at home to Brighton? No? No. JRod (18) stole that particular show. Maybe a Chelsea midfielder, they have plenty of exciting fantasy options there? No… you guessed it, Jorginho (15) came out on top. Perhaps you went to the defensive ‘well’ with either a Chil (18) or a Cress (15). No? Thought not. None of the above were mentioned by our panel of ‘experts’ last week, but let’s forgive them that, as it was the strangest of strange weeks. But we still like...[Read More]
FPL Tips Gameweek 5 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 5 We’re at a time when there is much uncertainty, elements of the community feel cynical of what the point of it all is, league tables show startling differences and there are results being thrown about which confuse most people – and that’s just fantasy football and the Premier League! Unlike the pandemic, however, we’re glad to see the return of domestic football to our televisions – though paying £15 extra for certain matches is quite the ask. So, as Baz Lurhmann may sing now: Ladies and gentlemen, of the class of 2020. Enjoy FPL. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, enjoying the game would be it. The long-term benefits of picking the right players have been proved by fantasy ‘experts’ Whereas the rest of my advice has no bas...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Gameweek 5 WTAF?! You’ll have to excuse a few profanities in the intro here but I’m sure you’ve all uttered similar enough recently, and for similar reasons, so here we go: Right then, what is it you actually want to know? You want to know who has good fixtures and who has bad ones, yeah? Well… how the f*ck am I supposed to know when Man Utd concede 6 at home, Liverpool get beaten 2-7 by Aston Villa, Leicester look like world beaters by sticking 5 past Man City and then back it up by getting stuffed 0-3 at home to f*cking West Ham. How on earth am I supposed to write a normal and sensible ‘fixtures guide’ on the back of all that?! :explode: Good question…. That tweet from GNev2 probably summed it all up (although it needs context), but crack on we shall...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW5 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW5. It’s just getting silly now. The Manchester and Liverpool results in GW4 proved once again how increasingly difficult this predicting lark is this season, more so than ever before. It was another low scoring week which is no real surprise. Sarriball was the only one to correctly predicted Chilwell as the first goalscorer which netted him 10pts and top-spot for the week. Loud Atlas grabbed a strong 9pts but they were only enough to see him slot into second. Third place was shared by too many to mention who all grabbed 8pts. And so; Many Congratulations to Sarriball. Please email us here; contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk to claim your prize. THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… S...[Read More]
