Live Match Chat Gameweek 21 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 21 FPL News: After how many games in how many days, and just when we are at our most busiest on a personal basis, we then get two weeks off, just as we are all suddenly at our least busiest on a personal basis! FPL doesn’t understand or forgive family matters, they don’t pay the bills, TV rights do. Anyway we hope you spent the time well and recharged those batteries as we are full steam ahead again and enter the second half of the season which is always more exciting for us than the first and that’s mainly due to the inevitable chaos of the double game-weeks which loom large on the horizon and will start to shape our seasons soon enough. For the time being it’s a normal week ahead and we begin...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 21 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 21. Just for a change we aren’t going to select players this week, instead we are going to let the game itself select them for us! We are going to take a look at the most transferred IN players for this round. And then we are going to tell you why we think this is and then whether we think thousands of other people are on the right track or whether they have lost their minds! It’s a fair sample selection as well because the transfer window has been open for well over a week already and the top 3 players from each position have attracted over 1.2 million transfers between them and that’s just at the time of writing*. Let’s take a look and see what people are up to… Goalkeepe...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 21 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 22. To quote Shawshank Redemption: “I find I’m so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head.” That about sums up my mood yesterday after Everton beat City 4-0. I tell you truly that I walked on clouds my entire Sunday. I smiled at my wife a bit more, I listened more attentively when my kids spoke to me. From that win, I was a better husband, a better father, a better man. But now today is Monday, and I’m supposed to revert back to the same lesser version of myself that you all know and love. And for the purposes of this article, that’s probably a good thing. Had I written this article yesterday, I’m sure Everton would’ve been #1 on my list of buys, and I probably would’ve put City as the top team...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 22 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 22. Wasn’t that a pleasant week last week? After all the soul-searching and grumbling, GW21 saw some proper scores – it’s like the good old days! And GW22 promises to be similar with some decent looking matches with some promising points potential – then again it rarely works out as we imagine! Our game-week begins on Merseyside as the Swans visit Anfield Saturday lunchtime before we are treated to five 3pm kick offs – home loving Bournemouth welcome Watford, struggling Palace host the rampant Toffees, Payet-less West Ham go to Boro, Sparky’s Potters welcome his old mates from United and the mercurial Baggies entertain the woeful Black Cats. Feet up early ev...[Read More]
FPL Ramblings Part 3 The Midfield Minions Thanks for reading FPL Ramblings Part 3 The Midfield Minions : In previous seasons the budget midfielder has more often than not been a player who was priced at £4.5m or below who sat on your bench week in week out and would hopefully deliver you 2pts when called upon. For some of you that may also be the case this season but with the way this season has panned out many of you will undoubtedly be placing much more emphasis on your budget midfielder. 3-5-2 has emerged from the wilderness this season meaning that your 5th midfielder needs to be someone who is capable of scoring points on a semi-regular basis. Those of you who continue with the tried and trusted 3-4-3 formation may be deploying a budget player as your 4th midfielder, particularly if y...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 21 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 21. Boring these breaks from FPL aren’t they? Transfers are waiting to be made, wildcards have been played, but it’s all waiting, waiting and more waiting at the end of the day. But we are now back. The FA Cup was last week and we now look forward to returning to FPL proper – GW21. It was Spurs who ended GW20 in such an authoritative manner by dispatching Chelsea and it’s Spurs who kick off GW21 as they welcome West Brom to the Lane. Six matches follow at 3pm – Burnley host Southampton, Bournemouth travel to Hull, Sunderland take on Stoke, Arsenal go to Swansea, Watford welcome Boro and Big Sam returns to West Ham with his Palace side. The evenings match sees Chel...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 21 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 21 article. Last time we spoke to you we were celebrating Phillips and Defoe getting us 20 points in the past week – “It’s funny like that sometimes in FPL because we ended up having our hand forced a little to do two transfers we wouldn’t ordinarily have done had it not been for a combination of injuries, suspensions or obvious rotation. As it was it ended up being a thoroughly inspired bit of business! We sort of reluctantly brought in Phillips and Defoe with most of the transfer committee agreeing it was the right (and probably only) thing to do whilst at the same time shrugging and yawning at the prospect. Well bugger us, they only went and got another 20 points bet...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 21 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 21. Let me begin with wishing all our loyal and active site members and readers a Happy New Year. Hope you were all surrounded by your dear and near ones as we all ushered the beginning of 2017. But that shouldn’t deter us from what we have been religiously doing since the beginning of August, with half of the season behind US and the games coming thick and fast with a few international breaks here and there, it becomes of utmost importance how you and me target the second half of the season. For some it might be to top their own private leagues or for some it might be to do a personal best in overall rankings. With our 2nd wildcard now play now, it would be much more important t...[Read More]
FPL Ramblings Part 2 The Striker Conundrum Welcome to FPL Ramblings Part 2 The Striker Conundrum: What to do? Who to buy? But… if I sell him, I just know it is going to come back to haunt me. If I get this other guy, what happens if the other top striker goes off?! I am afraid of Aguero, but Costa has been so consistent. How about Zlatan? He is on fire right now. There is also some fella named Harry that pops up and gets some nice points for managers. What to do? Well, sometimes FPL is about gut feel. Sure you can lean on the stats and go with the majority in many cases, but this might not be one of those moments. The top 4 strikers (when fit or not kicking David Luiz) have made this difficult. We also can’t overlook the cheaper options. Because they have also caused us to doub...[Read More]
FPL Ramblings Part 1 Wildcard Wonders Welcome to FPL Ramblings Part 1 Wildcard Wonders: With the advent of the the January wildcard there has been much discussion as to when it is best to play this particular tactic. It lurks in the shadows like a tempting mistress from the second it is available, but can you resist, or indeed should you? Some have already jumped on it like a ravenous Boris Johnson presented with the slightest hint of thigh and devoured it’s wholesome goodness to sate their appetite for some missing piece in the jigsaw. Which was probably Aguero. It was almost certainly Aguero. DMC nailed it in the comments the other night saying “Ahead of GW20 around 173k Aguero Cards were deployed”!!! For those with it left though they do have a decision to make. One wh...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 21 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 21. After an extended writing break due to the congested schedule, it looks like we can all get back to business as normal. And to kick off said business, we have to look at the best (and worst) schedules coming up. This obviously isn’t completely cut and dry, we are now in the middle of the transfer window – so teams that look a certain way now could certainly improve their lot with a few savvy moves in the coming weeks. And we also have the Africa Cup of Nations depleting several rosters of key players. I’m not sure if AFCON or the MLS gives a bigger middle finger to the norms of global football, but Africa calling up all of their best players in the middle of the season always strikes me as a truly crap th...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News: We hope you enjoyed your 17 hours free from FPL and football in general! Yes, you read it right, GW19 ended last night and GW20 starts this morning. Now if that doesn’t smack of rotation then we don’t know what does. Obviously the teams are spread out in some sort of equal ‘ish’ fashion but there is also the issue of having so little time that some injuries will not be reported on. It’s a bit hit and hope in that respect at this time of year and so the team sheets will be eagerly anticipated and we begin at 12.30pm with ‘Boro hosting Leicester, followed by four 3pm games and today ends with Man united visiting West Ham. Tuesday evening see three games, before our week a...[Read More]
