FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW6 No Hazard, no party, evidently! Seven of our players scored two points or less last week. Although that was a was fairly typical scenario, from looking around a bit. The identity of the other four probably dictated whether you had a stinker, an average week or a bonanza one. Our other four got 6, 9, 11 and 14 (c) so whilst not too shabby it still left us in the middle bracket. To excel last week one or more of them had to be Hazard or Fraser but unfortunately we had neither. We landed on 52 and whilst that was 5 above the average it saw us get the dreaded red arrows and a drop to 168k overall. Certainly one to brush under the carpet and move on swiftly from. So will Hazard’s obvious form finally tempt us to move on from Salah? Or will we rip up ou...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW5 Another green arrow and we’re into the top 100k for the first time this season. 96,136 to be more precise. We finished GW4 with 55pts which was 11 above the average. Once again it was our defence who led the way. Patricio had a clean sheet. Mendy & Robertson both chipped in with assists. While Alonso picked up a clean sheet, an assist and a bonus point. Elsewhere our capo, Kun, weighed in with an assist, Firmino got us a goal, while our new signing Lucas Moura picked up an assist. The rest all flopped, essentially! Last Week’s Result What have we done this week? Possibly lost our marbles?! Possibly not, but time will tell on this one. We had 1 free transfer and £0.9m in the bank. And in all honesty a fair few avenues we could have gone down an...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW4 Green arrows, we see green arrows! Our 62pt haul has lifted us to 134,896 from 283k. Good progress. Our defence was again the highlight with Robertson’s clean sheet and Alonso’s assists – both also scored maximum bps while Mendy chipped in with a single bonus point despite conceding at Wolves. Salah capo was ok, could have been more, but he is solid again. Josh King even scored for us and Tom Cairney and Firmino got involved with an assist each. Hamer, Kun and Mkhi did nowt and we won’t even name the brainless Everton midfielder. Last Week’s Result What have we done this week? Sold Richarlison; Bought Lucas Moura Ah, that surprised you, didn’t it? You were all expecting we’d make the obvious and boring move to Walcott. Yes you were. Admit it. Why ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW3 Our game-week was ultimately personified by our last minute decision to change our captain from Aguero to Salah. Sure, Salah did ok, scoring 9pts on Monday night but once Kun had posted his 20pter we were relatively doomed. At least we owned Kun, plenty didn’t. We still scored ok, 74pts vs an average of 60 and it is only GW2. No need to panic, but I think we have learnt our lesson re JamieJacksongate! Richarlison, Mendy and Robertson were again superstars, while Shaw contributed an assist despite United’s horror show at Brighton. The rest of our motley crew were useless – Patricio, Eriksen, Cairney, King and Firmino should all be looking over their shoulders as our moody committee meets with two free transfers burning a hole in its pocket. Last WeekR...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW2 Well, well, well – 82 points scored in GW1 with 37 of those points coming from our 3 playing defenders. Robertson, Shaw and Mendy all performed heroically with bonus points flying all over the place! Richarlison’s brace was also most welcome while Salah chipped in with his customary goal. Firmino provided an assist but with Liverpool scoring four we may have expected more. The rest of our number were 2pt bums, while like many other managers, we left Wan-Bissaka’s 12 points on the bench. Overall we are delighted with the start, overall rank means nothing at this stage. Last Week’s Result What have we done this week? Like many of you we have decided to sit on our hands this week and roll our transfer over. To be honest this was always the plan and i...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW1 We’re back! Last season was something of a disappointment as we finished with our lowest rank since we first introduced the site team back in 2014/15. We don’t set ourselves any goals at the beginning of each season but at the very least we want to beat last season’s final rank. Hang on, is that a goal?! Just like the rest of you we’ve spent five minutes hours agonising over who to include in our GW1 squad and we’re finally there. Are we happy? Ask us that around 6pm on Sunday evening! Below we have outlined some of our thought process when picking our squad. Hopefully it makes sense! Goalkeepers When we posted our very provisional squad a couple of weeks ago we had two £4.5m keepers. This then became a premium and a £4.0m option before reverting to two...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Like most of you who are now tinkering around with your team, we have gathered our committee to see if we can work out a beginner team. This is by no means the final team, but this is a squad that we are ok with as of this moment. Basically a starter team, that we will now try and work from until we build something that we are relatively happy with come GW1. This team, like any other team will see guys depart and see new guys come in for them. Ok, so let us get onto our current selections and and first our thinking along that journey, and see if we can justify our reasoning. And please, tell us what you like and where you think we could do better, we definitely take comments into consideration if for no other reason, so we have someone to blame. Goalkeepers...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW38 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW38. DGW37 was ok, certainly not spectacular. We played our TC on Kane and we all know how that went. OK. We scored 81 in total, net 72, the average was 67 and we saw a red arrow which was a shame. We now stand at 88,040 – our decent run looks over as we head into GW38. Frankly, the end of the season cannot come quick enough for our tired looking team. There were a few other ‘ok’s’ in our side – clean sheets from DDG, Dunk and Chambers, a rare goal from Mahrez and a solitary assist from Son. Definitely not ‘ok’ were Morgan, Sterling, Kenedy, Gündogan and Jesus. It wasn’t the week we hoped for, maybe we were spoiled by last season’s mammoth DGW scores. Let’s move on, this is depressing me just writing thi...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW37 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW37. No sooner had we made giant strides into the top 100k after a run of 9 successive rises, our world and ranking came crashing back down. We scored 42, net 38 – below average and we slumped down to 87k. We’re not massively surprised as we all took a look at our team post Free Hit and cringed. Our only City player was not Sterling, or Jesus, or Sane. Nope we had Gundogan. And we didn’t even play him. Our best success was at the back with clean sheets from Dunk and our Burnley duo. Kane with a Monday night tap-in was our only goal of the week. Yep, it was that bad that even Captain Salah blanked. We move onto this week – the big double and hope our luck changes. Some decent City coverage wou...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW36 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW36. It takes a lot for us to get excited and in fairness our performance this season hasn’t juiced us up on many occasions. However it seems that patience is indeed our virtue after a 72pt week in GW36. This gave our Free Hit team a weekly ranking of 23,903 and we have risen 50k places from 113,353 to a season’s best (by far) of 63,265. Forgive us for ‘boasting’, as such, but this is our 9th green arrow in a row. Happy days! Our performance this week was consistent throughout the team with only Klavan, Zaha, Mane and Wood failing to contribute anything worthwhile. Clean sheets from Baines and Tomkins added to goal-scoring performances from Sterling, Salah, Lacazette and Jesus along with bonu...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team DGW34 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GDGW34. Guess what? We got another green arrow (that’s 7 in a row now!!) but we still only climbed 7.5k places up to 140,557. This is getting excruciatingly predictable. Maybe DGW34 will be different. Our GW33 of score of 37 was pretty crap really, but somehow we beat the average (32). This write up will be very brief by the way. Our captain Aubayemang scored 12pts and Vardy scored 8pts. Our next highest scorer was Matt Ryan who scored 3! We were right to bench DDG lol! We have 6 players scoring 2pts and two scoring a single point each. It was painful to witness but many were in the same boat and there was no damage done. Somehow. Onwards and upwards to the big double and points galore. Righto! Last week...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 33 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 33. So our first week with our 2nd wildcard was….ok. Which perfectly sums up our recent performance really. We scored 58, the average was 48 and we saw another small green arrow, climbing 8.5k places to 148,105. We still yearn to get inside the top 100k and with the Bench Boost, Free Hit and Triple Captain left to play we hope we have every chance to do and much more if we utilise them properly. GW32 saw some good – clean sheets from DDG (obviously) and Morgan, goals from Vardy and capo Salah, an assist from Son and a welcome brace from Aubayemang; and some bad – Murray’s missed penalty and a Bailly no-show; and some ugly – West Brom scoring vs our pair of Bur...[Read More]
