Navigating upcoming GWs to field a strong team in BGW31

Welcome to Navigating upcoming GWs to field a strong team in BGW31 It’s been a tough FPL season for many of us. The bad news is that it’s about to get even tougher with a number of blank and double GWs to navigate as we slowly reach its final stages. There is good news too though: there is a huge opportunity in those trickier upcoming weeks and those of us who’ll take advantage of it will be the ones who may still find pride in their OR once the dust of this FPL season has finally settled. The first stage of this opportunity has begun already and will end with a very tough BGW31. The purpose of this article is to provide some thoughts on how to manage our FPL teams throughout this stage. Or in other words, to answer the following question: How can we field 10 players in BGW31 without sacri...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27. What a way to kick off the game-week – the North London derby. Kane gets the chance to continue his impressive run vs Arsenal, Mkhi and Aubameyang get the opportunity to prove that last week wasn’t beginner’s luck while Dele Alli’s diving may see him appear more on YouTube than his current celeb status on RedTube. Just four 3pm matches follow as Everton look to bounce back as they host Palace, Brighton are today’s lucky winners as they get to go to Stoke, Swansea and Burnley compete with the previous match for Bore of the Day and West Ham clash with Watford. The early evening match sees (no doubt) many Kun capo’ers cheer on their love as Riyad Mahrez finally gets the opportunity to play at...[Read More]

FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 27

FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 27 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 27. Well, we scored 45 which was just above the average of 43. So not bad, but ultimately not that good. But better than some we have heard from this week, so maybe we should just suck it up and get on with it. We capo’d the wrong bloke (Kun), our two Chelsea defenders didn’t play, Pogba was benched, our Shaqiri scored vs our Begovic. Otamendi and City conceded, Sterling missed an open goal. We could go on, but they were the main lowlights. Aside from Shaqiri’s header (which illustrates perfectly the lunacy of the week), good ol’ Salah continued his run of consistent and impressive form with his brace vs Spurs and just to prove there were some FPL gods smiling down at us, Matthew Lowton ap...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 27

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 27. Those of us who write for the site have a WhatsApp chat which is primarily used to ensure that everyone knows who’s writing what and when. From time to time there is some conversation and on Monday night it went a little like this, (abridged version)… Rosco: Fixtures sent, off to shoot myself in the face. Init: Good luck with that, you’ll probably miss. Init: Oh dear. Kop has a rival misery guts judging by the first paragraph. AT: Ahh shite Rosco: What’s up hun? AT: I might have to rewrite mine to be more upbeat. Can’t have the whole site plunged into a state of misery all week hahaha. Rosco it was an excellent intro, I share your pain mate. It has however got me thinking. Perhaps I should try being posit...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 27

Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 27 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 27. I have two comments to make on Gameweek 26: thank God I captained Salah, and if any of you scored less than one point across your entire backline, please come forward. I will leave it at that. As a late (at least) second-choice call-up to write this article, it promises mediocrity. I say late, I have had plenty of time to write this up; I even got an extension. The mediocrity is not for want of trying though: Salah is so consistent and Manchester City’s fixtures seem to be constantly so good, that any other player I thrust above the parapet will inevitably be shot down by a wave of eagle-eyed FPL experts. How frightening. After my first article, ‘Gameweek 25 Fixtures’, I was lambasted ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 27

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 27. Sometimes we do things in life because we feel obliged to. Christenings are a good example. I’ve never attended a Christening and thought ‘wow that was a great christening’. You know how it is though, your mate Dave from work invited you and Dave is a sound bloke, you don’t want to offend anyone, so you go. Once you’re there you never find yourself thinking ‘you know what, this is actually pretty good’, that never happens. So you sit there, play the part. Dave’s happy you went, the Mrs thinks Dave’s wife is canny so she’s alright, but you just want it to be over. That’s how I currently feel about FPL. Last game-week was brutal, the Marcos Alonso injury tipped me over the edge, just as I ...[Read More]

Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW27

Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW27 Welcome to Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW27. This week it was a relatively low scoring affair here at B&P’s predictions. Chelsea getting spanked for the second week in a row didn’t help, and if you were looking to Brighton v West Ham and Bournemouth v Stoke for your predictable draws, you were clearly looking in the wrong place. Let hope normality returns to both FPL and B&P’s this coming game-week! LAST WEEKS WINNERS! All it took to win this week was 10pts, Init duly obliged and left Igy, Potty, Mito, Fieldy, Leprechaun and Bongo trailing in his wake with a 9pts. Great to have Potty back and straight into the weekly leaderboard this week! Thanks to everyone who entered, better luck next week everyone else! Weekly Leaderboard GW 27 Winner ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26. And we are back already! We hope the midweek games treated you kindly but if not, don’t worry, we are straight into another GW so it can all be forgotten. And then probably all repeated again, just in case you forgot already! We begin with Burnley hoping that their bus is big enough to contain Man City’s juggernaut. It won’t be. We then have five 3pm games and all are much a muchness in terms of calling a winner with perhaps the exception of Man Utd hosting Huddersfield but try calling the others and you’ll be lucky to get 1 right. Saturday evening will surely see Theo stick one up Arsene as the Gunners pay tribute to one of their most prolific players of recent tim...[Read More]

FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 26

FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 26 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 26. Well we scored 60pts and saw another green arrow, albeit a very small one. But in all honesty it feels like we are treading water a tad – the team looks ok on paper but is probably not dynamic enough to cut through the masses. King Capo Kun saved things late on with his goal to rescue us to an extent, while his mates Otamendi and Sterling also contributed with a clean sheet and two assists respectively. The surprise was Begovic’s clean sheet at Chelsea – the disappointment was Alonso who we seem to have no luck with. We own him, he does nothing, we sell him he explodes. Tosser. Salah does what Salah does. Firmino rewarded our faith and as for Christensen…..IR...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 26

Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 26 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 26. Gameweek 25 provided inconspicuous captaincy returns for most as several candidates such as Firmino, Salah, Vardy and Aguero failed to break the 8 point barrier. Worse still was Kane, who left it to his teammates to get the goals; and Hazard who just left it to Bournemouth. Those FPL managers who like to surf the differential captain adrenaline rush will have been doing the conga well into the night, as Theo Walcott, Sam Clucas and Emre Can finally came through for them. The January transfer deadline may have muddied the waters somewhat ahead of this weekend, but there remain plenty of familiar options and I have turned to plucking some nuggets of wisdom from social media this week in ...[Read More]

Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW26

Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW26 Welcome to Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW26. Perhaps Arsenal were too preoccupied with their pursuit of Aubameyang in GW25, their 3-1 defeat to Swansea was a bad start for B&P predictors. Luckily Palace and West Ham stepped up to the plate with a much predicted 1-1- hurray! On to night 2, played out to backdrop of deadline day. Bournemouth shocked Chelsea and B&P predictors with a 0-3 win, Man City duly delivered on the result widely predicted in their 3-0 win and Stoke v Watford, Newcastle v Burnley and Southampton v Brighton all provided stable mediocrity many seen coming a mile off. LAST WEEKS WINNERS! Top spot this week is shared between Mamsi and Matt who scored an impressive 14pts. Just a point behind in 3rd place was Coyotes (13 pts)...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 25

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 25 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 25. Lovely jubbly, another midweek game-week. There’s always something special about these. Whether it’s games under the lights or just that it breaks up the mundane working week we don’t know but either way they always feel special. We begin with 3 games on Tuesday with Swansea unashamedly prepping London busses for Arsenal, Moyes spitting feathers in an attempt to find 11 available players to face Palace and Huddersfield fearing the worst against Klopp’s juggernaut. And then we have a bumper Wednesday with 7 games, all done and dusted within a short few hours. Maybe it’s that finality that is so attractive, but then that may depend on on how it pans out for you....[Read More]
