Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 25 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 25. Gameweek 24 divided friendship groups (or mine at least!) and the 247 community alike. For those who captained Aguero, Aguero scored a hat-trick. For those who did not, Aguero scored the worst hat-trick ever televised. It was worse than the goal the rubbish kid on your junior football team scores when you are 10-0 up and everyone’s task shifts to getting him to score. His first never touched him, his second was a penalty and almost saved, and his third was literally like the rubbish kid scoring his goal having stood on the penalty spot for the whole half after your best player who had trials for Chesterfield goes around their whole team to set him up. It is probably pretty clear by now t...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24. Time to get the show on the road once again and we start down at the south coast for the lunchtime fare as Chelsea visit Brighton. Six 3pm matches follow as top-6 stragglers Arsenal host the slowly improving Crystal Palace, Man Utd take the short trip to Burnley, Everton welcome West Brom, Leicester entertain Watford, Stoke clash with Huddersfield and in what should be a more entertaining affair, Bournemouth go to West Ham. The evening match sees Newcastle entering the lion’s den as they look to stop Kun, KdB et al at the Etihad. Sunday sees just one fixture and it’s another London team travelling south as Spurs go to Southampton. Our game-week concludes on Monday with Swansea ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 24 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 24. Hmmm… A 4th consecutive red arrow. Our worst run of the season. Crap. This is all despite picking up 66pts which was actually 8pts better than the average. It’s tough at the top. Although we’re not anywhere near the top! We’ve dropped outside the top 250k. Last week’s transfers didn’t quite go to plan. Jesse picked up a rather pathetic 2pts while despite the Liverpool v City game being a 7 goal thriller, Aguero registered just 5pts. However, Kun does face Newcastle this week so he will have the opportunity to make up for it. Elsewhere, our defence racked up a pitiful 5pts. Our star performer was Arnautovic with 16pts. Salah did what Salah does. And Harry delivered as our captain....[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 24 There are so many mottos you can say in football: “It’s a marathon, not a sprint” can be applied all season-long, “All good things have to come to an end” would be how Man City must be feeling as their unbeaten run did just that and then there’s “All good things come to those who wait”. Well, the last gameweek particularly showed how true the latter phrase was as a number of the players we had brought in for the double gameweek suddenly sprung to life. Kane, Lanzini and Arnautovic rewarded owners who had stuck with them after initial disappointment, whilst the likes of Alli and Son carried on being the gift that kept giving. As we hopefully put the chaos of Christmas player rotation behind us, we fantasy football managers can start to enjoy ourselves befor...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 24 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 24. To be honest; I couldn’t wait for GW22 to end. The Christmas fixtures started so well, green arrows in GW19 and 20, but quickly followed by two reds in 21 and 22 resulting in ending up pretty much back where I started. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it (honest) but usually the pain of a bad game-week is over in a matter of days. GW22 was like an episode of Downton Abbey, tedious, something I don’t want to watch and overly drawn-out. The FA Cup was a welcome break, which is saying something as prior to last week, Newcastle had failed to reach the fourth round since 2012! If all of the above sounds a little ‘woe is me’ it’s not meant to, but sometimes we all need a ...[Read More]
Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW24 Welcome to Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW24. GW23 felt good in many respects. No early kick-offs or fancy ‘Friday Night Football’ to confuse matters, with 6 fixtures played at the traditional 3 o’clock Saturday slot. Those predicting the first goal scorer suffered accordingly. Chelsea obviously thought they were playing on Sunday, failing to turn up when most were predicting a win that never materialised. Liverpool threw a spanner in the works, their 4-3 win the reverse result many predicted. The big shock result of the week came on Sunday with Bournemouth beating Arsenal 2-1. Arsène Wenger said he left Alexis Sánchez at home, he probably wishes he’d left a few more there too. LAST WEEKS WINNER! A strong showing from the contributors once again this...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 24 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 24. After Pancho went off on an unexpected (even to him, apparently!) tangent with a great and different style Fixtures article last week we are back with a more bread and butter version this week with the teams who have the best and worst fixtures over the next few weeks analysed. Cookie and Init are in the hot seat this week. And you may well be seeing this combo a lot more in the weeks ahead. It’s a proven tag team which works because they enjoy writing together and feed off each other nicely. But possibly shouldn’t, for many reasons. And so before we proceed we thought we would give you a bit of an insight into their subtle differences! One (Init) is very much a bog standard ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’ve gone from feast to famine in terms of a hectic Christmas and NY period to the lull of FA Cup weekend. However we return to normality this week – a 3-day gameweek! We kick off with six 3pm matches – Danny Drinkwater gets a chance to show his old employers how far he has come as he watches Chelsea host Leicester. From the bench presumably. Palace welcome Burnley, West Ham go to Huddersfield, basement dwellers Swansea travel to Newcastle, Watford and Saints meet at Vicarage Road and Lord Pardew looks to continue West Brom’s brilliant run as they host Brighton. The evening match sees bus driver Big Sam drive down to Spurs. Sunday sees two matches – first up ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 23 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 23. Christmas, Santa Claus, Happiness, Elves, Reindeers with red noses, Joy, Kids with presents, New Year rejoicing, time with families. Yeah, whatever… Means nothing when you check back in and have 3 red arrows out of 4. If we could say we got too drunk and missed a deadline or capped the wrong player then that’d be better, but we didn’t. We were diligent, we had the discussions. We just got it wrong. And sometimes you can just try too hard! We’ve dropped from 146k to 219k since the last time we spoke to you. On the positive side we were delighted by how many people, both on the site and twitter, actually complained about the lack of an article each week! We did as...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 23 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 23. Certain people did their best over the weekend to get me into a bad mood (Init) so I’d best live up to my GABO nickname and have a bit of a moan. The obvious thing for me to have a moan about would be the departure of Coutinho but that was going to happen sooner or later. Instead I’ll have a moan about the FA Cup. I’m all about the good ol’ days when it comes to football so it saddens me to see how they’ve trivialised the Cup. The FA Cup 3rd round is all about 3pm kick offs on a Saturday afternoon not 8pm kick offs on a Friday night! Who’ll ever forget non-league Sutton United defeating a Coventry side who only 19 months earlier had won the competition? Or a 37-year-old Mickey Thomas equalising for Wrexham agai...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 23 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 23. Back to a bit of normalcy after that miserable DGW and there’s nothing like the old miserable regular game-week to get us back in the spirits. This week I was tasked with coming up with some captaincy options for you all to mull over. I was also told to not pick them and then spend a whole paragraph on why they were actually bad options, like I apparently did last time. Basically they have asked me to hide the truth… I can do that, I don’t have a problem with doing that at all 😉 In fact, if you must know there are a few things I live by, which I think would serve most people well, but let me just mention the one that is most relevant to this article. “It’s...[Read More]
