FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 35 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 35. I should begin this article by saying that several of the points I make below should have a giant asterisk next to them. Based on how the dates for GW34’s matches were lined out, I’m writing this prior to the conclusion of that week. None of the games from Tuesday, April 25 – Thursday, April 27 have been played at this point, so bear in mind that certain elements of the article may change depending on results or injuries. I’m starting this piece this week with City as my top pick, but if “The Glass Man” Aguero or KDB come up lame on Thursday, you’ll just have to decide how much that changes their power rankings in your own mind. That being said, with so many more DGW teams coming up on the horizon, you ma...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 34 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 34. Another week, another small green arrow, but at least it’s better than a red one and we’re back in the top 50k. Woohoo!! Our score of 57 was 11 better than the average of 46, so we have to be fairly happy with that. Our new recruits had mixed weeks – Kane kicked us off with a 12 point haul and how close we were to captaining him – while Zaha did nowt despite Palace scoring two at home to Leicester. Never mind, the Zaha purchase was with this week’s double game-week in mind so he best be saving his points for this week. Elsewhere, Valencia contributed a surprise clean vs Chelsea, Walker made a guest appearance for Spurs for another clean sheet, Eriksen made an assi...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 34 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 34. The fun begins! Not long now folks, just about 24 hours until DGW34 kicks off, a true football feast that runs from Saturday until Thursday and includes DGWs for Crystal Palace, Boro and Man Utd. Weeks of plannning have been taking place for this – the business end of the season with so much still up for grabs. Chelsea’s lead at the top has been cut to 4pts, the scrap at the bottom between Hull and Swansea looks like going the distance, the Top 4 is far from certain and if all that is not enough we also have the FA Cup semi-finals taking place this weekend between Chelsea and Spurs and Man City and Arsenal. It’s relentless, it’s non-stop, it’s action stations,...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 34 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 34. Init messaged me at the weekend to double check I was still ok to write this week’s article. To which I replied ‘of course’. I then gave it some thought and wished I’d said I was busy. This must be the dullest double game-week in living memory. Somebody wake me up when it’s over! While the double may be boring the league itself has suddenly got a lot more interesting with the gap between Chelsea and Spurs now down to four points. This is great news for us fantasy managers as it looks like the battle between the two sides will go to the wire meaning we don’t need to worry about rotation or their respective players switching off. This week rather than follow my usual format of tipping part...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 34 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 34. You always know you are coming to the business end of the season when the double gameweeks start coming thick and fast and this is the first of three in four weeks. It’s kind of an appetiser to the main course of DGW37 with just the three teams playing twice this time as opposed to ten of them in that one. And yet that fact may be an interesting one, as those lucky enough to have some valuable chips left will be eyeing up DGW37 as the perfect Bench Boost material. Which means if they have a Triple Captain chip left then it will most likely be deployed this week or on Sanchez in DGW36. Even if you aren’t in that situation then your captain will be all important in the cl...[Read More]
MLS GW8 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer Welcome to MLS GW7 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer. We get a real DGW this week, and people are looking to set things right from their previous scores I’d imagine. Last week was a bit of a letdown for a lot of folks. The average score, on a full MLS schedule no less, was just 55 points. I’m not a superb mathematician, but an average score of 5 points per starting player has to be some kind of record low when everybody is using a WC at the same time. When you consider all the groaning and moaning people said about unlimited transfers making the game “too easy”, it’s almost satisfying watching so many teams buckle under the pressure of having to remake their team every week. Because the truth of the matter is that it’s harder than it looks. And I thi...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 34 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 34. We’re finally coming down to the end of the season. And I have to admit, it’s been a pretty good year to this point. With only 5-6 games remaining for most teams, we still don’t know who the winner of the league will be. We don’t yet have a definitive Top 4. And the relegation battle still includes 6-7 candidates. All in all, there’s a reason to still watch every weekend, and that’s always a plus. Also, with a few exceptions, mostly every team is still playing for something – and being motivated to play until the very last game makes picking a fantasy squad just a bit easier. The only problem with getting on towards the end of the year, at least from a fixtures standpoint, is the inevitable congestion in ...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News: Just the six gameweeks left and so time is running out to close down those mini-leagues, make a late run for glory or consolidate what you have, all in the pursuit of office bragging rights. It may just be six gameweeks but not all gameweeks are created equal, as we are about to find out. At least three of them will be DGW’s. This is the part of the season when planning and preparation come to the fore and the casuals are left in a daze wondering how their seemingly unassailable 100 point lead suddenly turned into a deficit. Chips will be brandished like confetti. And those that can’t will learn lessons about patience. GW33 is perhaps one of the last of the ‘normal’ gameweeks when ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 33 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 33. For fup sake. 55 fupping points. Ok, that’s the obscenities out of the way but c’mon, 55 points? I haven’t checked but I doubt we have been below the average on many occasions this season but we were in GW32. It may have been by just 1pt but we were still below it. We should’ve known what was in store at lunchtime on Saturday as Kyle Walker was rested and captain Eriksen picked up a solitary assist despite Spurs putting four past Watford. Our keeper and three defenders weighed in with a massive 6pts and with Antonio Valencia needing yet another rest we played the gameweek with just 10 players. 10pts from Eden Hazard were very much appreciated as were the nine from Josh King who climbed from ou...[Read More]
MLS GW7 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer Welcome to MLS GW7 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer.THIS WEEKS DEADLINE IS 00:00am UK TIME Saturday. (That’s Friday night, basically!) Just as a continuation on the intro from my FPL Fixtures article earlier in the week: I am still drinking kale shakes with ground ginger root. My wife is serious about getting my blood pressure down and getting me to cut weight, yet she has no regard for my personal joy nor happiness. But I’m smarter than my wife gives me credit for. Since I don’t want to have kale shakes and celery forced upon me at all hours, I’ve taken the bold step into daily intermittent fasting. Basically I eat no food and consume no calories for 18-20 hours per day. Ha! I’ll show her… Basically I hate everything right now. You, ano...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 33 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 33. I’ve always admired the positivity of hitchhikers; after all, every time I drive past one, they’re holding their thumbs up. So yesterday, instead of merely slowing down to reciprocate the gesture, I decided to stop and accommodate one on my journey. My fellow traveller on this occasion turned out to be none other than a certain David Moyles* (*Name changed to protect real identity). Among the many topics we discussed were borderline red cards, vigilante retribution against female journalists and, fortunately for this tame segue, who to captain in FPL Gameweek 33. 5. FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 33 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 33. Due to this being the start of a run leading into DGW’s, I’ve decided to slightly change up the format this week. Instead of listing the best three teams and the worst three teams for fixtures, I’ll make a list of who I feel is the best from the teams that don’t have a DGW, and then we’ll go over just the DGW teams separately. Now usually I start out most articles with something a bit more ranty or at least introspective. But that was just a purely informational preface to the article. So I’m sorry, I’ve already failed you. Even I got bored on that intro, but keep reading. You never know, it could get better. Or maybe it doesn’t get better. Maybe we all have to just look around and consider that this is as good...[Read More]
