FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW20 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW20. The trouble with a wildcard team is often not who you bought; rather who you didn’t. There’s always those regrets, swept aside on to the floor of the ‘drawing-board’ room. Not so much the ones who catch your eye when you walk around afterwards wistfully kicking up the dust, seeing names like Wilson, Alli or Aubameyang peek through the remnants, more the ones like Felipe Anderson and Hazard, who still seem to sparkle through it, almost winking at you in mock disgust of what could have been that week. But alas, we couldn’t have everyone we wanted. If we did we’d have had a midfield of epic proportions… but the last time we checked 1-8-1 wasn’t a valid formation. All...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW19 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW19. Sergio took to the boards this week and he couldn’t have put it any better; “Nightmare gameweek for the site team :see-no: “. It may have been his sole contribution this week but at least he was 100% accurate with it! 45 points saw us with 10 less than the overall average. Kane got us a third of our overall points with his 15, the rest averaged 3 each. Enough said. Overall it saw us plunge back down 25,000 odd places to finish in 84,654th. Last week’s result in full… We go into GW19 with 1 free transfer and a more than healthy bank balance of £3.2m, but with a wildcard to swing at our issues could this finally be the week….? This weeks transfer decision(s) Yes, in...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW18 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW18. There’ll be no fancy poems here. Or 12 days of nonsense, no lovey dovey Christmas puns and no general glad handing. Why? Well firstly because it’s bidness time. It’s time to get your heads out of Christmas and get back to the things that matter most – FPL. Secondly, because your Site Team panel here aren’t all young, foot loose and fancy free like your previous writers this week. Au contraire, they’re a bunch of long in the tooth, hard bitten grumps who’ve probably stood in one more long Christmas queue than is healthy for any man, especially knowing that they are about to lavish a month’s wages on gifts that will be discarded by New Year. And all in e...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW17 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW17. Hi, my (our!) name is Fantasy Football 247. And I took out Mo Salah. For a hit. For Sterling. And Lacazette…. You know things are bad when fictitious ‘support groups’ start popping up on the site comments. Even worse when you are tempted to actually join one! It was a strange old week that was. Our defence held us up with 24 of our final 43 points. Alonso and Robertson got clean sheets, the latter chipped in with an assist too, and Doherty continued to defy his alleged status as a defender with yet another poachers goal. Other than that we got a Richarlison goal as our sole contribution from our front 7. The other 6 combined for a grand total of 9 points. Thanks guys! All in all it...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW14 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW14. Oh dear! Our fine run of green arrows was halted in inglorious fashion as we managed just 39 points last week which saw us come crashing down the rankings by 20k to land in 58,159th. We missed the overall average by 11 points, which is never a good sign. The fact that only 3 of our original starting 11 scored over 2 points probably tells you all you need to know. Just as well we had such a strong bench then as Lucas Moura didn’t see the pitch at all in GW13, and like many, Obi Wan subsequently lit up his light-sab(v)er and came to the rescue once more. Our bench was weakly tickled in the comments last week, and possibly rightly so… (it is what it is due to many weeks of battling against ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW13 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW13. As much as our committee may come across as somewhat disjointed and sometimes dysfunctional the end result is all that matters and we now have five green arrows in a row thanks to last weeks score of 63, which was 15 above the overall average and 5 above the top 10k average, and that sees us jump up another 12k in the rankings to leave us sitting in a fairly respectable and encouraging position of 38,731. 28 of those points came from our Liverpool duo of Robertson and Salah (c), despite them posting only a modest 2-0 victory on the card. Alonso added 8 with a clean sheet and 2 bonus points, Fraser got an assist and a bonus point and Aguero got his customary goal. The other six are all in the naughty...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW12 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW12. We somehow garnered 80 points in GW11 and yet another green arrow, and for once a decently fat one. We say somehow because six of our team managed to score just two points each; Patricio, Mendy, Robertson, Salah, Fraser and Vardy, thanks all, for nothing! Our transfer in last week was Arnie and he carried the charge for us weighing in with 12 himself, Kun did us proud as captain with a 26, Alonso got us 6 with an assist, Richarlison repaid some faith with a 15 and Moura surprised us with a cheeky 9. We managed to rise over 40k in the rankings and now sit at about 50k overall with our 4th green arrow in a row under our belt. Last weeks talk of Wildcarding was quickly quashed, and thankfully so, given...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW11 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW11. What a strange old week that proved to be. So many players not playing for so many managers and so many diverse scores on the boards ranging from the Salah shunners to some posting treble digits. We were somewhat in the middle of those and ended up on 71 which was 13 above the overall average and 2 above the Top 10k one. It meant another green arrow, albeit a small one again, as we moved from 104k to 92k overall. Last week’s success stories were Fraser and Alonso both posting 11 points, Mendy grabbing 6 and Richarlison a 5. And of course our transfer in of Salah in place of Hazard was the biggest of all as he came home with 30 captain points for us. On the downside we had high hopes for both Rober...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW10 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW10. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey. Another small green arrow but again it is progress so as ever we shall take it. We managed a relatively acceptable 46 points last week, 3 above the overall average and 4 above that of the top 10k. it meant a rise of about 16k up to 104k overall and leaves us on 555 points. Truth be told only three of our players managed to get more than three actual points, which whilst disappointing was very representative of the scene across the board. Mendy and Robertson got 18 between then and Captain Kun got his now seemingly customary 1 goal, 12 points and 65 minute appearance! There’s really not a lot else to report on so let’s move onto this week’s meeting and see ...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW9 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW9. It was a bitter sweet sort of week last time out. The big ‘bring Kane in vs Cardiff at home’ plan went a bit awry, but many of you won’t particularly want reminding of that having done the exact same thing and spending the best part of a week trying to forget that you did. That was the bitter part anyway, oh and we captained him too… sorry, you Kaners did too didn’t you (we’ll stop reminding you, promise). The sweeter part was that we brought in Hazard for Salah and he duly redeemed the situation a bit with a goal, an assist and the now (almost) customary 3 bonus points. The rest of the team tried their best to pull their ‘Kane weight’ to be fair to them. Pa...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW8 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW8. After the success of GW6 we came crashing back down to earth in GW7! We registered a paltry 50pts which was 1pt below the overall average and 10ts below the average of the top 10k. This resulted in a red arrow of over 47k and an overall rank of 145,387. In terms of our starting XI it was Patricio who led the way, with a clean sheet, six saves & two bonus points giving him a total of 10pts. Sergio Aguero and Jamie Vardy were the only other players to register any meaningful points with both claiming an assist and two bonus points. The remaining eight numpties aren’t worth mentioning! That’s enough about GW7. Let’s move on to GW8, surely James Maddison will finally make his way into our squad this week...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW7 A big fat green arrow greeted us last week as we jumped over 70k in the rankings and back into the top 100k. We got a total of 68 points which was 16 above the official average but that particular measure is starting to become increasingly unreliable as the weeks go by and dead teams begin to gather up along the way like roadside trash. A better measure now is to look at the top 10k as we can assume most of them are still active, the average in that group was 58. In terms of our players Patricio returned just about what we expected having lost his clean sheet whilst making a number of saves, just not quite enough! And tellingly 2 less than DDG himself. No such complaints with the rest of our defence as all 4 brought home a clean sheet, albeit with no at...[Read More]
