Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7 It’s another four day GW as we begin Halloween weekend on Friday evening, fittingly with the Wolves howling against the Eagles. Don’t worry we won’t continue the theme any longer… Saturday sees just the 3 games with Sheffield United welcoming Pep and his lack of strikers at lunchtime. Just the one 3pm game again (Jeff will be turning in his grave) as Chelsea visit Burnley. Saturday finishes with Klopp and his lack of defenders hosting West Ham. Sunday begins with Villa vs Southampton at 12pm, followed by Newcastle vs Everton at 2pm, Man Utd vs Arsenal at 4.30pm and ends with Thelma & Louise vs Brighton at 7.15pm. On Monday the PL will again push our patience by as...[Read More]
FF247 FPL Team GW7 We go again… In what was undoubtedly a quiet week all round we scored 43 points in total, which was further damned by the -4 points hit we took to bring in Ezri Konsa (and Mohamed Salah). So in a week where the average score of 48 meant that anything like 60-70 points was somehow doubly good, we don’t have to concern ourselves with that. We just sit here and reflect that Salah had a goal ruled out for offside (correctly, we don’t pedal anti-VAR nonsense here) and had one off the post to grab us 4 points as Captain whilst Sadio Mane got 8 (which would have been 16!) We’ve said it from the start… MANE IS MORE EXPLOSIVE! (Slight in-joke, but see last weeks article for reference). The rest of the team then: the aforementioned Konsa conceded three and along with ‘...[Read More]
FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 7 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 7 Dusty Bin Having somewhat recovered their collective credibility in GW5 could our writing team go back-to-back successes? Erm… no. Kop topped the class this week with Kane, which probably says more about the others than him. He got 5. AT at least got a clean sheet from Bruno. Wonderful. He got 3. Jamesimmo went obvious with Salah. And got 2. Matt went with the usually ever so reliable DCL. And got 1. We couldn’t even complete the phrase ‘5, 4, 3, 2, 1’ properly. As for The Confessional it looked like an episode of Harry Enfield with so many (Egyptian) scousers involved. There were a couple of Kanes to buck the trend but no Sons to colour the mood. We shall let them off though as it was a strange ol...[Read More]
FPL Tips Gameweek 7 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 7 This season has been nothing but haunting so far and this last game-week was more trick than treat. There will likely be even more shocks and horrors as we approach Halloween weekend. Those Spurs fans that have started with Kane and Son are cackling. Bamford suddenly has a similar conversion rate to Salah and “no end product” Zaha has started hauling. It’s been a bad start for me personally (starting with double Chelsea attack instead of double Spurs). So to all those that are struggling like me, FPL can change really quickly and the bad luck will turn soon enough. As for the tips: at least the penalties have eased up and I don’t have to write about all the penalty takers for the different clubs. Goalkeepers Walts forgot to reapply his mak...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW7 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW7. Whisper it quietly, but things may be getting back to normal. Not in the real world of course, no no, the crazies still run the asylum, Karen still thinks 2 metres is significantly larger than reality and all the scientists in the world can’t seem to figure out why Covid cases are once more on the rise (I’ll give you a clue, it has something to do with education). I digress. When I say normal, I refer of course to the results of the Premier League. Following last weeks’ first 0-0 of the season, we now have another (hurrah), and with it came 1-1’s and 2-1’s with only Leeds pushing the boundaries with a 0-3. As expected this has seen scores here once more ...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis GW7 When FF247 checked my readiness for writing this Fixtures article, I realized that I’ve been put on a 10-day straight work schedule coming up on Monday. You know, during a pandemic that’s ramping up all over the States, working 10 days straight is EXACTLY what a person wants to do, right? Ever the gentleman, Adam (Init to you) gave me permission to just bin the article this week and focus on work – but I’ve done enough of these articles over the years that I thought I could probably churn something out on a lazy Sunday whilst sipping on something poured on the rocks. And if that didn’t work, I figured I could always grab a throwback and get some DayQuil into my system to push this article to the finish line. Long story short, Adam gave me an out, but I decli...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6. This GW kicks of with a Friday fixture that pits the high flying Villains against the ok going Leeds. Saturday brings us four more matches. The Hammers host City in the early game. That is followed by Fulham vs Palace, United vs Chelsea (15th and 8th in the standings) and Liverpool close the show vs Sheffield United. Sunday gives us three more fixtures. Saints start it off vs first place Everton, Wolves takes on Toon and in the late game Arsenal host Leicester. If three days of Premier League football were not enough they also left us two games for Monday. Brighton welcomes in West Brom and the gameweek is closed out by Burnley taking on the eternal bottlers, Spurs. The games in full… ...[Read More]
FF247 FPL Team GW6 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW6 In our defence… It’s fair to say that when we decided to start the season with a double up of Liverpool at the back we were hoping for more than just the solitary clean sheet, and we certainly weren’t expecting that they would have conceded an average of nearly two per game (albeit it somewhat skewed by that Villa thrashing). The hapless duo got us two points this week, between them. We can then only assume that a certain Mr Pickford had seen our team and decided that enough was enough… They weren’t alone though as Ryan and Mitchell served only to double the entire total of our back-line to four points. Taylor sat laughing at us from the bench with five. Things got a bit better up top with goals galore as Havertz, Jimenez and DCL...[Read More]
FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 6 Werner’s expertise After a dreadful showing in GW5, the pressure was on our ‘experts’ to deliver in GW6. Let’s go see how they fared… Init brought us Kane. And his 32 Captain points. The strongest performance out of the lot. Unfortunately for Init, he didn’t actually own him, never mind being able to stick the armband on him. He captained Sterling himself and, despite scoring 72 points and being a good 12 points above the average, this was the lowest score amongst the ‘experts’. GP went jingoistic with Salah and that would have given him a respectable 14 points. Had he followed through. But he didn’t, he went for Kane himself and grabbed a 94 score, the highest out of the ‘experts’. Kop… we still aren’t entire...[Read More]
FPL Tips Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 6 Sometimes in this life, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t compete. For instance, as good as he can be, Aubameyang will never be Henry; the Houses of Parliament’s morality will always fall far short of Andy Burnham’s relative benevolence. Maupay can only dream of hitting Kane’s numbers — or am I being too harsh? More to follow soon on that one… Anyway, enough of those loose comparisons, here’s what I’m basically trying to say: this Tips article won’t be ‘like’ (read: worthy of lacing the boots of) last week’s Tips article. Swirly did a truly magnificent job — custom-designed pitch graphics and all. I’ll be sticking to just a solitary phone screenshot and snaps from Getty Images that have minimal relevance to the points being made. ...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Gameweek 6 When I first realised I was writing Fixtures this week my initial thought was ‘what’s the point’. That’s not me being petty or dismissive, more a genuine consideration given the results over the opening 5 game weeks. The two constants for any FPL manager – form and fixtures, no longer seem quite so important. Take West Ham as a case in point. They lose their opening two fixtures; at home to Newcastle and away to the Gunners, so we conclude they are out of form, right? Their fixtures in Game week’s 3 and 4 (home to Wolves and away to Leicester) looked like ‘bad’ fixtures so logically we should avoid them but they win both, score 7, conceding 0. Normality seemingly returned as they headed towards a 3-0 defeat to Spurs at the weekend, only for them to score 3 in ...[Read More]
Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW6 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW6. West Brom 0 Burnley 0. After 5 weeks we finally have our first 0-0 of the season, a glimmer of normality at long last. The weekend results as a whole did carry a semblance of this normality; a few 1-0 wins, a couple of 1-1 draws, so who knows, maybe things are finally settling down. Onto the results. This week our winner is Turbo who smashed in a whopping 15pts thanks in no small part in his prediction of Mane for FGS. He wasn’t the only one to do so, special shoutouts to Padster, Redmen and Sweetbluetoffee. However, it was our very own Matt with 14pts who snatched 2nd this week, so close my friend. Bringing up the rear in 3rd place were Hammerfan, Mosc, Sarri-ball and RafflesH...[Read More]
