Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 38 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 38. We had it off big time. We ******* had it off. We planned (ish), we hoped (a lot), we got lucky (extremely). But we’ll take it – it’s been a long season, there have been ups and downs, but it sure feels good to report a DGW score of 193. We played our Bench Boost of course, but given that Gabbiadini and Holgate scored just a single point between them, it makes the contributions from elsewhere even more special. Of course many of you will have returned similarly impressive scores, so we won’t go on too much. However it would be wrong not to recognise another Alexis DGW masterclass, 20pts from Azpi, 19pts from Jesus and of course Thursday’s evening’s finale fr...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 38 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 38. I’ll start with a health warning here – you are about to get GW38 Captain tips from someone who once benched a player in GW38 who scored a hat-trick! You can be forgiven for tuning out now, but let me try and explain… A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… I benched Lukaku. At that time he played for West Brom and was a bit part player and was playing against Man United in Sir Alex’s farewell game. It was a shoe-in victory for United for sure. Ten goals later and all that… Lukaku came off the bench to score a hat-trick in a ridiculous 5-5 draw. I’m sure I had a good reason to bench him, I just can’t remember what it was – I&...[Read More]
FPL Tips and Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 38 Welcome to FPL Tips and Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 38. Ladies and gentleman, we’ve arrived at the end of this year’s journey. Some would say that the end has come too soon, whilst others are looking at their pitiful DGW scores for this current round…and they’re thinking the end can’t get here soon enough. I fall somewhere in the middle of those two sentiments; one part of me would love to see football every weekend, and the other part of me is just ready for some cold beer and baseball on a lazy Saturday. What else is a man supposed to do on Saturday? Watch MLS? Oh yeah, I’ve signed myself up for that, haven’t I? As for the matter at hand, this being the final gameweek of the FPL season, I feel that I’ve drawn the short straw in trying to cr...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 37 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 37 FPL News: We have finally arrived, the big double. We are not sure on this, but this could be the first time we have ever seen a DGW with at least one game for seven straight days. It is going to be pure excitement and what better way to kick off the double, on a Friday no less, than with two teams who have nothing to play for? We know, pretty exciting. Everton who are locked into 7th hosts Watford who are safe from the drop so as long they don’t concede an insane amount of goals in their last two games, and even then, they are probably still safe. That joy of a fixture is closely followed by The Baggies vs the soon to be champions Chelsea. Pulis and the gang will hopefully make an appearance from the retreat...[Read More]
MLS GW11 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer Welcome to MLS GW11 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer. Just as I’m getting set to wind down my FPL season so that I can cut my workload in half, the MLS decided to really ramp things up on their end. There are DGWs in the MLS as far as the eye can see – so no immediate rest for me. In fact, next week, after my final Fixtures article of the year, the MLS decided to put ten teams on a double. What a way to celebrate the closing of a chapter, eh? More work. Maybe the only good thing that will come of this is that you’ll learn to hate DGWs as much as I do. How did you all like that rotation last week? Oh, you expected Giovinco to travel to Seattle? Foolish notion. You thought NYRB would play their starters to begin the series? Bah. And don’t even ...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 37 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 37. Well I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s day off because we’re off to the races again with the season’s biggest DGW – 15 matches, starting with two this evening and then it’s spread over seven successive days of Premier League and FPL action. Yep, it’s go, go, go – it’s crazy season, it’s a week that may well make or break your season and if your other half moans just tell them that it’s nearly all over and to stop whinging! As I have just mentioned, we kick off tonight therefore our deadline is another early one – 18.45 UK time this evening. It’s the Toffees who get us going as they host Watford at Goodison before West Bro...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 37. After the Negredo saga it seems like we regained some of our mojo. This week the team managed 79 points which was 33 points above the average. Our game-week rank was 150k and this allowed us to move back inside 40k after sitting at 58k last GW. We like to extend a big thank you to our defenders and the Chilean, who really scored well for us. Thirty points from our back four, helped in particular by our double CFC clean sheet. We also had a Saints defender and had shrewdly invested in a City keeper, bet that is not said often. Our mids did not do exceptionally well, but they did a job for us and the most important thing was we picked the right captain. Alexis with his 14 doubled was aided by Ki...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 37 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 37. We’re finally at the point in the season where it doesn’t make sense for me to list out my top three picks for the coming rounds – with only two rounds left, and a host of DGW teams, that model that I’ve been typing out week after week probably isn’t going to cut it. So I’ve been told by the brass that I’m to write a single paragraph for each DGW team that will be featuring in GW37. I know, right? Just a single paragraph per team? From me? Challenge accepted. As such, we won’t be going over the other half of the league that won’t be featuring twice in the coming round. So I’ll not have to bemoan the effort of Everton, nor the late surge from their bitter rivals. And I also get to not write about Middlesbr...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 37. Spare a thought for DGW37 outcasts Bournemouth, Burnley, Palace, Everton, Hull, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Swansea and West Ham; wandering around the wilderness futilely in search of a second helping, like acne-ridden flotsam cast into the social void, while the other half lives it up in shared accommodation with their fine-dining and beautiful spouses. Those with their single games are not welcome in these parts. This is ‘Wife Swap’ on steroids. In this week’s episode… ALEXIS SANCHEZ – Stoke City (A), Sunderland (H) [three_fifth padding=”0 20px 0 0″] Embed from Getty Images [/three_fifth]Alexis is a lucky boy to still be clinging ont...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 37. How has gameweek 36 been for you, then? Another green arrow to raise your hopes of an excellent finish at the end of the season, or perhaps a red one that has left you scratching your head at where it all went so wrong? Well, a few of the season’s favourites like Alli, Eriksen, Hazard, Kane, Firmino and Lukaku did indeed draw a blank (OK, more than just a few!), whilst other memorable players of 2016-17 like Defoe, Alonso and Costa rewarded managers. Even De Bruyne – who has been off the radar a good chunk of the season – surprised many by hauling in the points. Of course Josh King had to get in on the action too. Well, it’s officially the middle of this mini double gameweek season now, ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 36 Welcome to Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 36. Oh dear. Little did we think we’d regret selling Negredo so much, but the annoying striker, who single-handedly destroyed our DGW34, trolled us again after we sold him for Gabbiadini. You know the rest, Negredo blanked vs Bournemouth & Sunderland, but scored vs a Stones-less City defence and Gabbia….urgh, can’t even bring myself to type his name. We scored 43pts, below the average of 46 and our rank has fallen to 58,613 from 45,895. We left 24pts on the bench courtesy of Jaku and Siggy, while Nyom, Walker, Zaha and G contributed a point apiece. Thanks to Josh King who made the game-week show some sort of respectability. We’ve held our wildcard this long, but itR...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 36 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 36. It is officially silly season. Alvaro Negredo had a double game-week in which he never scored (despite attracting many a Captain Armband), subsequently he is therefore sold off in his thousands and then scores and assists against Manchester City the very next time out. Huh? Christian Benteke, who many others captained on the double game-week, does so well against Liverpool to justify the pick and then blanks at home to Burnley who themselves prior to the weekend couldn’t win an argument away from home, nail a clean sheet and a 2-0 win. Double Huh? Antonio Valencia owners relished the clean sheet he picked up in the Manchester derby but it is sandwiched by two non-appearances due to “resting”. Oh han...[Read More]
