Which FPL Players Offer The Best Value?

Which FPL Players Offer The Best Value? Part of the fun of playing fantasy football is that you have to get creative with your selections. Just like real-world football managers, you’ve got a budget, and you need to stick to it. While we’ll all splash out on those big-money names, the truth is that it’s very often the value members of our squads that deliver the points needed to drive us up the fantasy football league table. You might have Salah in your team, but so does everyone else; the slightly cheaper players provide a chance to diversify your squad. But which slightly cheaper players offer the best value? We’ll take a look at just a few players that might be worth adding to your team. Harvey Barnes People in the know have talked about Harvey Barnes’ potential for a while, but it seem...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW25

FF247 FPL Team GW25 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW25 Room 101 You know the concept, you put in the things that annoy you the most; like playing FPL and trying to pick with sound logical reason the Manchester City players who are going to play the most amount of minutes in a double gameweek. And Pep gets you! Across a total potential 180 minutes against Spurs and Everton, our Ruben Dias scored 2 points and was our joint-lowest scoring player. Still, nice to own and captain Ilkay FUNdogan for his 38 points (in just 90 minutes by the way) but as with everyone else, you rarely hear about the things that do go your way and as ever, we’re a greedy lot us FPL managers. So with Gundogan’s 38 and a combined 27 from Pope and Lowton (lads!), we pushed our score to 101 (see what we did there?) and we ha...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 25

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 25 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 25 The finest of margins – that’s what FPL is in so many ways. At the time of writing, the likes of Sterling, Fernandes and Salah have five, nine and seven points respectively – then there’s Gundogan who has almost the total of the three players’ gains combined, with 19 points. Those who not only had him in their team, but also followed our man Init’s tip of captaining him, congratulations! As for the fortunate few who even triple captained him, even better! Regardless of whether he plays his second fixture, that is a tally to be pleased with. Indeed, being pleased when your points tally is great is key to this game. In these times where we look for escapism from the general naffness of ...[Read More]

How the FA Cup is shaping up after the fifth round

How the FA Cup is shaping up after the fifth round We’re now down to the last eight teams remaining in the FA Cup, after an unusual midweek fifth round took place, with action spread across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There were no huge shocks, with Bournemouth the last non-Premier League team remaining after they knocked out Burnley, while Everton and Tottenham Hotspur served up the greatest entertainment of the round, with the Toffees emerging 5-4 winners after extra time. The quarter-final draw has been made, and there are a few tasty ties to look forward to. The matches are set to take place over the weekend of March 20th and 21st, so teams have plenty of time to build some momentum in the league before battling it out for a place in the semi-finals at Wembley. Let’s take an in-de...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24 Let the fun begin! FF247 FPL Team GW24

FF247 FPL Team GW24 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW24 A strategy?! As some of you may recall this was the week we took the plunge on two Burnley players – Nick Pope and Matt Lowton – as they had a nice little run of games and started those at home to improving but hardly world-beating Brighton. And then 10 minutes from half time, Lewis Dunk happened. Four points from our duo of new signings was hardly a fantastic start to the week (more so when you take into account we had Jack Grealish with a 2 point apology in the lunchtime match). Thankfully Saturday was rounded off with a Coufal clean sheet and then 26 points from Bruno © and DCL at Old Trafford in that brilliant 3-3 draw. Sunday’s big match saw us owning Dias (1), Salah (7) and Gundogan (13) with Bamford grabbing a 6 pointer in the Monda...[Read More]

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 24

FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 24 Welcome to FPL Captain Picks Gameweek 24 When a hero comes along… …with the strength to carry on. Etc. Said strength will have been tested to the limit as of late, in FPL. And elsewhere, of course. Especially for those who considered Soucek’s powers too much to resist. And subsequently played him ahead of the likes of DCL or even Gundogan. As we go into a bit of a mini DGW the main question is whether this week’s hero will come from our double selection or from a more conventional single game-week source. Let’s go see what our merrily unmasked men think… Init – Gundogan v Spurs (H) & Everton (A) Yeah ok, so he absolutely can do it on a wet Tuesday night away at West Brom but can he do it against the Champions on prime-ti...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 24 (and 25 and beyond…)

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 24 (and 25 and beyond…) A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… I used to write the Fixtures articles on both here and FFC* before us (*’Fantasy Football Cheat’ for those of a younger era). Week in and week out, for years on end, and whilst it was always a pleasure it could sometimes become monotonous. But then once in a while a Double Game-Week (DGW) would pop up and that would really (finally) pique the interest. Kid in a candy shop and all that. Or more like a weather reporter in Florida who suddenly has a hurricane to deal with. We both know they are coming eventually but for 98% of the rest of the year it’s samey-samey. I have long since given up the monotony, prefering to introduce some younger blood and new voices to the scene....[Read More]

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23 Another gameweek on top of the previous one. This one gets us going with a lunch-time battle of the only two teams that start with the letter A when Aston Villa face off vs Arsenal and that of course is followed by a meeting of the only two teams that start with the letter B in Burnley vs Brighton. Along with that game we have Toon taking on Saints so our alphabet game is already ruined. Fulham and Hammers gets the 5:30 spot and the day is brought to a close by what should be an entertaining affair when United play host to Everton. Sunday brings us four more fixtures. The early game sees Spurs throttle West Brom, that is followed by a battle of Wolves vs Foxes. The third game of the day is a title decider-ish? Probably not, but it should still b...[Read More]

FF247 FPL Team GW23

FF247 FPL Team GW23 Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW23. Our score of 65 in GW22 saw us record our first red arrow in seven weeks, despite us beating the average of 57. This is what a failed captain (Salah), a blanking goalkeeper (McCarthy) and failures on the part of Dallas and Targett (one point apiece) brings. Luckily for us everyone else delivered – the mandatory clean sheet for Dias, assists aplenty for Grealish, Gundogan, Bamford and Antonio while Bingo Bruno was the stand out with the full house of goal, assist(s) and clean sheet. The red arrow takes us back to 967,981 but with 2 free transfers, a wildcard in hand and double game-weeks coming up we’re confident of a strong finish. Our GW22 Result… Let’s go see what was decided… Our GW23 Transfer(s) With two free transfe...[Read More]
