After a few postponements, the Spring season is now finally over and we will be entering the Fall season starting this week. Despite the many delayed kick-offs (due to freaky summer weather conditions) we witnessed another exciting round with 51 goals scored, including two hat tricks. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his first MLS hat trick and his ex-Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney scored his first MLS goal. Elsewhere, Bradley Wright-Phillips netted his 100th goal and became the fastest player to score a century in MLS history. https://twitter.com/MLS/status/1023781778308378625 Gameweek 22 Review The second edition of El Trafico finished in a similar fashion to the first. LAFC were 2-0 up until the 82nd minute when the Galaxy came back, this time to draw the game. Vancouver demolished M...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2018/19 Wolves We look at the reigning Championship winners Wolves who lit up the second tier of English football by winning 30 of their 46 games, scoring 82 goals and conceding 39. This saw them finish on 99 points and so close to breaking the 100 mark. The Wolves ownership have been showing their intent and ambition in recent seasons with the big-name signings of Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho so a similar season to last wouldnât be too much of a surprise. This team is full of youth and is led by Nuno Espirito Santo, a Portuguese manager, who has organised a well-oiled machine and I would hazard to call them the poor manâs Man City (no disrespect intended!). What I mean by this is Wolves are a side that plays att...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2018/19 Fulham We continue our look at the promoted teams with Fulham. It was only when Lucas Piazon returned from injury, Aleksandar MitroviÄ was brought in on loan, and Ryan Sessegnon was pushed further up the field that Fulham began to turn last season around. With the recent announcement that the club has agreed terms with Newcastle United for MitroviÄ, things are starting to look up for Fulham after a nervy start to the transfer window. Let us have a look at their fantasy prospects. FIXTURESÂ (Crystal Palace (H), Spurs (A), Burnley (H), Brighton (A), Manchester City (A), Watford (H)) The visit of Crystal Palace to kick-start the campaign is, on paper at least, probably Fulhamâs easiest fixture until Watford in Gameweek 6. Early road tr...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Like most of you who are now tinkering around with your team, we have gathered our committee to see if we can work out a beginner team. This is by no means the final team, but this is a squad that we are ok with as of this moment. Basically a starter team, that we will now try and work from until we build something that we are relatively happy with come GW1. This team, like any other team will see guys depart and see new guys come in for them. Ok, so let us get onto our current selections and and first our thinking along that journey, and see if we can justify our reasoning. And please, tell us what you like and where you think we could do better, we definitely take comments into consideration if for no other reason, so we have someone to blame. Goalkeepers...[Read More]
New Fantasy Premier League Transfers 2018/19 Liverpool Edition Hello and welcome to New Fantasy Premier League Transfers 2018/19 Liverpool Edition! This is our year! Only joking Iâm too much of a realist to get swept up in that stuff and Iâm sure fellow Red and resident pessimist Kop would agree with me on that. Even though I do not feel as optimistic as the majority of fans, it seems that other fans from teams around the league are getting involved in and really feel Liverpool have made a great push to challenge defending Champions Man City. Liverpool have looked at some key areas of their team and improved immensely. They have spent ÂŁ164 million this summer on improving weak spots which could prove money well spent if Alisson, Fabinho, Keita and Shaqiri hit the ground running. With this ...[Read More]
New Fantasy Premier League Transfers 2018/19 – Riyad Mahrez and Ben Foster Welcome to New Fantasy Premier League Transfers 2018/19 – Riyad Mahrez and Ben Foster. Two familiar faces and yet their transfers create uncertainties that must not be ignored. Well, I guess Foster’s could be but I just do what I am told. Mahrezâs ÂŁ60m move is an indicator of his quality and whilst Ben Foster joins Watford for a relatively tiny ÂŁ4m, his guaranteed route into a once solid West Brom backline will be fondly remembered by many a fantasy manager. Pre-empting that many of you are here to read about Mahrez, I have put him first. Riyad Mahrez Manchester City FPL Price: ÂŁ9.0m I just love watching Mahrez play. Do not worry though, this article won’t take a weird ‘Rosco turn’...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League Ramblings 2018/19 Sometimes I have thoughts and on occasion I am allowed to express them on here. Not sure where this article is headed, but let us just type away and see what comes of it. There has been some mention of Keita on the site recently and he has started to appear on some of the teams managers have been posting. I have been particularly interested in him and have been trying to monitor the commentary on top of whatever I can watch of him. His previous numbers tend to reveal that 10 goals and 10 assists is not a huge ask for this season, assuming he gets between 2800-3000 minutes. In fact, an uptick on assists is very possible, since when we look at his previous assist tallies we are not looking at FPL assists, which are a bit different. On paper, it feels ...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2018/19 Cardiff City We start our look at the promoted teams with a trip across the Severn Bridge to Cardiff. Neil Warnockâs men finished second behind Wolves in last seasonâs Championship which sees them return to the top flight for the first time since their relegation in 2014. The Bluebirds kept 19 clean sheets in 46 games last term, with 11 of those coming at home where they won 16 out of 23 matches, losing just three. The Welshies scored 69 goals with only midfielder Callum Paterson reaching double figures. Junior Hoilett and Kenneth Zohore both scored 9, while interestingly defender Sean Morrison scored an impressive 7 goals. Fixtures The fixture computer has handed Cardiff a straightforward looking introduction into the Premier Leag...[Read More]
Another exciting round, with many goals and surprises, is over and we are heading for another big Double Gameweek (DGW). The highlights were dominated by the sixth hat trick from Josef Martinez, which is a new MLS record. https://twitter.com/MLS/status/1020782516372828160 Gameweek 21 Review The round started and ended well for Minnesota United, who won both their home games (including a 5-1 thrashing of LAFC to round off the gameweek). It was a different story for the other DGW team, New England Revolution, who lost both of their away matches. The Cascadia Cup finished with a clear win (and a home shutout) for Seattle Sounders over Vancouver Whitecaps, while Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Texan Derby. The Rocky Mountain Cup ended in another 2-2 draw bet...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Interview – Plans & Strategies Welcome to Fantasy Football Interview – Plans & Strategies. As we all continue to tinker with our squads and work out how to include as many of the top players as possible we thought it would be helpful and interesting to pick the brains of some veteran and well-known FPL players. By veteran I mean by way of experience in playing FPL, not in seniority in years! I have to admit to being quite excited at getting our selected panel together â between them they have numerous finishes in the top 1k, throughout the season they spend hours helping others with sound FPL advice as well as entertaining thousands on their various sites or twitter with merciless banter and wit. Allow me to introduce them to you. FPL Fly â Fly has be...[Read More]
Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2018-19 Oh yeah, with FPL back that also means ‘Bore off’ returns. I have went back to that old well and gathered the 3 amigos up for you to get their thoughts on some of the questions that we all want answered as the season draws closer. For those that don’t know them or don’t know them well, let me introduce you to them. Init is one of our site owners, he enjoys being a disciplinarian, hates typos and those with a lack of attention to detail. He also would prefer to not take walks on the beach and is not fond of puppies. Other than that, he is a great guy. Cookie is also a site owner. He lives in Monaco, enjoys laying on the beach and taking pictures while he drinks his wine. He doesn’t like to hear abo...[Read More]
