Speaking on last week’s FFSurgery Podcast, Jamie – the Fantasy Football Magazine’s co-creator – remarked that the motive for producing the magazine was simply to gain access to the best FPL advice out there before anyone else. Though Jamie was joking, I can’t help but agree with the sentiment. Having seen almost all of the magazine’s articles at least 2 gameweeks before its release date, I certainly felt as though I had gained a somewhat unfair advantage over the rest of the field. Well, unless you were in H2H leagues – because those scores stayed in place from the first round. But the classic scoring reset itself. Listen folks, this is the MLS. If you’re participating and you’re active in the league and the game, you just have to accept that some things are going to be a bit off. There’s no other way around it. The one day of the year we all get to release our true alcoholic side with it being totally acceptable, and just in time too! Last weekend we saw only four matches and the likes of Can, Schneiderlin and Mawson hitting the back of the net with the bigger names not getting the points. It was an ‘ok’ week, we scored 47pts (39 net after the 8pt hit) vs an average of just 19 – so we cannot grumble, it could of been better, it could of been worse. Thanks to Captain Lukaku for his 24pt return to help maintain our decent ranking. The only other contributors in the much reduced game-week was Coleman’s clean sheet and Siggy’s assist and 2bps.
