Site Team Gameweek 1

Site Team Gameweek 1 Hello and welcome to Site Team Gameweek 1. Seeing as FPL opened about 4 months ago, you would think we would have spent hours formulating our plans for the team, endlessly researching the stats and pre-season appearances of the players and balancing our budget to accommodate the must haves and the dark horses. No. We all forgot about it until the Taskmaster that is Mito, clipped us round the ear and made us do stuff. Well, even then it was just to say if we liked ‘his’ team that he had created for us. ( …and even still we have our suspicions that The Legend played Twitter roulette and copied the first template he found). But guess what? We all, in the main, loved the draft. A little tweak here and there to justify our enormous salaries but by and large we felt great an...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 1

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 1 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 1 Variety is the spice of life (Tips) As we alluded to in the previous Captains piece we have split the workload for Tips too. As such, rather than having one exhausted writer tailing off when it comes to the final Forwards section we shall have 3 or 4 sprightly individuals all at the top of their game giving you their player tips for each position. This week we present you with Swirly in nets, Rosco with a case for defence, Mito with the middle ground and Smash with the forward thinking. Swirly – Goalkeepers First up on the inaugural tips article of the season is Brighton’s Robert Sanchez, who costs just £4.5m – a price that was quite the pleasant surprise on launch day! Previous seasons have seen us go “How ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 1

Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 1 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 1 And off we go again… We hope this article finds you safe and well and almost on the other side of things. Much has changed in the past 18 months or so; our way of living has altered and people have had jobs and personal circumstances change. At FF247 Towers we tried to maintain a constant rhythm throughout it all and we pretty much nailed it. We weren’t able to have our regular flow of articles due to the deadlines / gameweeks all seeming to run into each other but we did our best in terms of posting articles whenever there was a gap that allowed us to do so. We are blessed with a fantastic team of dedicated writers and they all helped us hurdle the obstacles and we can’t thank ...[Read More]

FPL Ramblings

FPL Ramblings It has been a while since I wrote one of these and I didn’t have any plans to do so this season, but I was sitting around with nothing to do in the afternoon and thought why not write about some random fpl thoughts. Years ago I read an article in fantasy NFL that I really liked called Love/Hate. I liked it so much that in the past I have included a mini love/hate section myself although that has been a while. I use to do it to talk about transfers. I would see who managers were buying and selling and state whether I loved or hated the transfer, when I was on the fence I just say I was lukewarm. It is in article that I have thought about doing this season occasionally. That is sort of what this is in many ways as I am going to be loving and hating on the ownership of pla...[Read More]

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 1

FPL Fixtures Gameweek 1 And so the countdown begins. Whether you’ve been countlessly drafting and tinkering over the past few weeks or have had the discipline to hold off for now, it’s time to get serious and start planning the start of the campaign. Rather than writing the traditional Fixtures article format of ‘Good’ and ‘Bad’, I have instead written a small piece on every team with a look at their early fixtures and the players to watch from each team as we start the season. Obviously the latter is not an exhaustive list, that’s the job of the Tips article author. Good luck for the season ahead. FPL FIXTURE TRACKER But first up that all important Fixture Tracker itself… FIXTURE TRACKER LINK FIXTURE TRACKER 2021/22 Arsenal Following an open day trip to newly promoted Brentford, The...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW1

Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW1 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s GW1. I was shocked when I realised that this is now the fifth season of our weekly predictions competition. The last few seasons have flown by and that’s largely down to all of you keeping this article alive. We thank you! What you see is what you get here at the H&L offices, consistency is (usually) the name of the game here, your weekly solace from the stress and strain of what can often be a long and arduous season of FPL. That’s why things have not changed a great deal (read not at all) around here this season. We will still be offering t-shirts for the winners and nothing for the losers (none of that ‘everyone’s a winner’ rubbish from us). We will still have the 38 game week...[Read More]

Fantasy Premier League £1k Regulars League 2021/22

Fantasy Premier League £1k Regulars League 2021/22 Hello everyone and welcome back to the FF247 Regulars League 2021/22. Top Heavy Top heavy to the tune of £500 for the winner! This is once again thanks to our friends and sponsors FanTeam. It’s not quite death or glory but we are certainly weighting this season’s prizes towards the top end, and deliberately so. Why? Because it’s just something different and mixes things up a bit, in all honesty. Aside from the prize info the other main purpose of this article is so that the Regulars League has a permanent home for reference points throughout the season, such as cup draws. It is also permanently linked to our Hot Topics just above the latest comments. FF247 Public League League Code: kgvnpe As per usual we will have the FF...[Read More]

Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2021/22 – Norwich

Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2021/22 – Norwich We continue our countdown of newly promoted teams with the first team to get promoted last season. Norwich were the eventual champions of the Sky Bet Championship with 97 points seeing them return to the top-flight after just one season. This was the highest points total in the league since Wolves in 2018, which is encouraging and suggest an improvement. This improvement has happened at the back as their defence shipped 36 goals compared to the 57 goals following their 2018/19 season. We all know Norwich and how they are the ultimate yo-yo team. This up and down status hasn’t got any help from the suits in the Premier League offices as Norwich’s start to the season cannot be any tougher. Over the first three games, they play Liverpool (H)...[Read More]

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2021-22

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2021-22 The first edition of Gabo for this new season. With FPL getting closer and closer to starting it is of course time for Bore Off to also kickoff. I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues: GP of Scottish fantasy fame, Rosco of FPL fame and Smash of Devil’s Advocate fame. I asked for the site members to provide any questions they wanted answering, and did they ever! Some really great stuff was asked and hopefully this edition of Bore Off can provide you with some good answers (doubtful) to said questions. I want to send a special thanks to all who volunteered questions that were not sexually explicit. Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say. Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article w...[Read More]

Top Forwards to Consider for the Opening Weekend of the Premier League 2021/22

Top Forwards to Consider for the Opening Weekend of the Premier League 2021/22 In most seasons past, when looking to select the regular point scoring option for one of the forward positions, either the striker of the reigning champions or Harry Kane would be the initial picks. Coming into the 2021/22 campaign, Manchester City have a distinctly Agüero-sized hole in the team, with there still being question marks around Gabriel Jesus. Then, there’s Harry Kane, who not only might be moving club but will also miss the start of the season, according to Manchester Evening News. On the bright side, this situation does mean that Fantasy Premier League players won’t feel strong-armed into paying 12.5 for one player straight off of the bat. That said, it can leave some wondering which forwards would...[Read More]

First place wins £200,000 CASH in Fanteam’s £1,000,000 season-long cash game

First place wins £200,000 CASH in Fanteam’s £1,000,000 season-long cash game Most of us love a private cash league with our friends, families and work colleagues when it comes to Fantasy Premier League. We all like doing battle for a few hundred pounds each season, so what do you say to the thought of winning your share of £1,000,000? Intrigued? We thought you might be, as we were when we first heard about it. There’s £1,000,000 in cash up for grabs just by playing fantasy football this season. The best thing about it? It’s almost exactly like our beloved FPL game we love to spend so much time obsessing over. There’s a new kid on the block when it comes to fantasy football – they’re called FanTeam and this season, they’re running a season-long fantasy football game where you can win some se...[Read More]

Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2021/22 – Watford

Promoted Teams Analysis FPL 2021/22 – Watford Guess who’s back? Back again. Matt’s back, tell a friend! That is right I must have done a brilliant job on the Brentford article to be writing again so soon. Or it just means I’m the biggest idiot who answered when the boss man called! Well, I’m on my three-month summer holidays and I’ve got very little else to be doing so why not feed my fantasy obsession! We started these new team articles with the team who came up through the playoffs, Brentford, and will now take a look at the team who got promoted in second place, Watford. This team is more known to us than the Bees as it was only two seasons ago when we were all using Kabasele, Kiko Femenia and Troy Deeney in our FPL sides. This means I won’t have to give you a complete rundown of ...[Read More]
