Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18 The International break is here and it is of course time for another edition of Bore Off! This time we have given the 3 Amigos a break and found their possible replacements in the near future. 😉 Bry is welcomed in, many of you know him from his other work on the site or perhaps you have seen him busking on the tube in Japan. Banjo also joins us, luckily for him we have only asked him to answer questions and not make the coffee. However, I would still keep my distance as he answers, for your own safety. Last and least (according to FPL) is Smash, who we have asked as a form of therapy for him. Hey, let us get on with it and see what The Last SamuBry, Wilshere x8 and Hulk Smash have to say about their seasons so far and what is ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7. Your last chance for some FPL points before we go off again on another pointless international break and all your star players get to globe trot like carbon emissions are a thing of the past. GW7 spans just Saturday and Sunday this time and we begin with Spurs on the road (that’s good Spurs then) as they go to Huddersfield at lunchtime. We then have five 3pm kick-offs. None of which look particularly exciting if we are being totally honest! Man United hosting Palace may be for those who captained Lukaku, but then again who didn’t! Hence the lack of excitement… The best game on Saturday (in theory) is being kept back until the evening and sees the current champs Chelsea host...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 7 Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 7. I’ve got another confession to make, I’m your fool… Hi. My name is Adam (init). And I seem to be addicted to screwing up the Site Team! I seem to have a monumental issue with pressing CONFIRM when it comes to the site team! “Oooops” was how I introduced this weeks thorny issue… Fortunately the guys know by now what that may mean. And yes they are all guys, not folk… *Sighs It happened again. It happens a lot. I have no idea why. I seem to have a blind spot when it comes to the site team and I know not why. To quote Kop – “You’re so meticulous with everything else” To quote Cookie – “We’re like a Carry On ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7. Hello and welcome to a shorter than normal Tips article for week seven. The reasons for my time being a bit tight right now are plenty. I have childcare issues – mainly that the schools are currently on holiday! I move house in three weeks and the hassles and general ball-achery which accompanies. I am swamped a bit at work with general silly season and long hours in the office. Also, having borne witness first hand that my Rangers are about as far away from big rivals Celtic as I am from my gym locker and membership card, then you kind of get the picture that I’m scrambling a bit. On top of all this I have to consider how I’m going to live up to the legend that is Lord Pardew as I’m scheduled for a meeting with ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 7 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 7. Hola Amigos! I was asked to step away from my day job for a moment, of hiding in the Colombian mountains growing…eh…medicine, to try and help this wonderful community with their FPL captain choices, by the way, just shoot me a message if any of you need any…eh…medicine. Unlike most weeks or seasons that I can remember, this 2017/18 season has morphed into, ‘which forward do I captain?’ It is hard to fault anyone for owning three 10 million or above priced strikers, however that also makes it hard to pick the correct captain week in and week out, because we are spoiled for choice. There is something to be said for owning only one good pot (where have yo...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 7. Well folks, I did it. I actually scored higher than the average. It only took me six rounds to get my act together, but I followed my own advice (finally) and just loaded up on the smart plays instead of trying to think outside the box. That’s just a polite way of telling you all that I’m really kind of stupid, and sometimes I try to overcompensate for my condition with some risky plays. But when that doesn’t work, I revert back to my natural state and just play some Route One fantasy football. In short, I capped Aguero against a bad team and earned big points. And believe me, you don’t have to be much of a genius to figure out that was a decent play. In keeping with the theme of staying i...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6. Choo choo, all aboard the Kun train… Best hope he starts then or there will be fantasy managers throwing themselves under it at about one minute past 2pm today! Quite why a hat-trick last week indicates another one imminently we aren’t sure but let’s see what happens. It’s a bit of a strange FPL week as we actually have 8 games today (Saturday), and then just the 1 on both Sunday and Monday. We begin with a London derby as West Ham host Spurs at lunchtime, in what has in recent past been a title decider. 3pm gets busy then with no less than 6 games on the go with the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Man United all featuring. Saturday is rounded off with Liverpool visiti...[Read More]
FF247 Fantasy Football Team Gameweek 6 Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Team Gameweek 6. We got 3 clean sheets this week. That is, unfortunately, just about the top and bottom of our highlights this week. Yeah ok, Lukaku brought us some points but it’s difficult to celebrate that when he brought almost everybody else the same points too. Likewise with Groß and his assist. We made 2 transfers last week and neither were a success with both Alli and Choupo-Moting coming in and both doing screw all for us. Alli got us a clean sheet bonus point and that was the highlight of our transfers, which says it all really. We scored 53 points. We began in a semi respectable 173k. We ended up in a semi disgraceful 463k! Onwards and upwards and all that then, here’s what we have decided to do...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 6. As the nights start to draw in and it gets colder – in the UK at least – it feels like we’re starting to get the proper conditions for football now. You’re sat in a stand, freezing your bits off as the wind howls around you, while the soaked-through footballers look miserable on the pitch – that’s much more the kind of football experience we are used to. Another thing we are also beginning to find all too familiar from previous seasons is the realisation after a couple of weeks that the wildcard needs to be used as plans haven’t gone to, well, plan! After a lot of people used their wildcard in the international break, I thought I’d see it through and, with events at Vicarage Road on Saturday, I am now on sa...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 6 2017/18 Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 6. Here in Japan, last night’s gales of typhoon Tamil have acceded to a sky of glorious azure, serving as an appropriate metaphor for surveying the carnage of an erratic GW5. Only 2 strikers broke double-digits, an achievement matched by as many goalkeepers. So while the faithful multitudes that stuck with Lukaku were richly rewarded; those that banked on Firmino were left bankrupt. The two biggest stories though, unfolded elsewhere. A shoe-in for the armband, a reinvigorated Kane freshly thawed from his yearly August deep freeze, got cold feet. However, over in the Hornets nest Watford got stung by Pep’s Rocket Man, Aguero. Don’t worry Elton, he caught a few of us off guard but we’re still...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6. It was pointed out to me last week that I have a habit of answering questions that I pose to myself. Do I care? I do not. I’m just kidding – I promise you will not find me answering my own questions in the meaty part of the article this week. And it’s not because I feel that I shouldn’t be answering my own questions – I just feel that given my performance thus far this season, those answers I provide would probably be wrong. This game is breaking me this season, and it’s making me question everything I know about being an analyst and sports fan in general. This past week, after point hit adjustment, I scored 57 points. That was as close as I’ve come to hitting the average score...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5 Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did! The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we ...[Read More]
